Best Vietnamese in Knoxville! There is only one other place I know about so I don’t have much here to compare, but I’ve had Vietnamese food in other places I’ve lived and this place is in my top five. I’ve tried the grilled pork, Viet crêpe, pork roll, noodles and fried rice all of which were delicious!

I was so happy to find this place. Coming from Florida, I was afraid I was not going to find any good Vietnamese restaurants, well we came here based on Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed. I was craving Phở, and theirs is really good! They were also able to accommodate my mom who can not handle the spice and made hers to her liking. We will definitely be back to try some more.

Traveling from Townsend back to DC. I needed some phở. A friend recommended this place so we tried it out. I had mixed feelings about this place. Nice interior and staff was friendly. We ordered grilled pork rolls, 2 bowls of phở and a vermicelli bowl to go. We enjoyed the pork rolls, the pork had a lot of flavor but sauce was lacking. Phở broth was ok, we both feel like our noodles were undercooked and the broth was not hot enough. Meat was good. They didn’t include napkins and utensils went the vermicelli bowl I ordered to go so I just ate the meat. Again, it was tasty. Overall experience was so so. I would try other Viet places in the area first.

This is the first place I’ve ever had Vietnamese food and I’m a big fan. My boyfriend is a fanatic for Asian food, particularly Vietnamese, and we come back frequently. My first foray into the menu was pork and vermicelli noodles, which I adore. I don’t like cilantro but I’ve never had an issue of ordering it without. I did try the phở, which is better here than anywhere else I’ve tried it, but I kept it pretty simple with just hoisin, bean sprouts, and some jalapeño. It’s very good, but I prefer the other dish. They do have a veggie friendly menu, which I haven’t sampled but my sister did. She was pleased with her dish.

This is our second time here and we are still blown away by the amazing food here! We ordered the Shrimp Dumpling appetizer and our was delicious. The dumplings were crispy and the filling was wonderful. They came in a sweet soy sake sauce that was perfection. I ordered the Phở Ga and it came I’m the largest bowl I have every seen. It was served with basil, sprouts, jalapeño slices and a lime wedge on the side. The Phở was amazingly flavorful and satisfying. My husband ordered a fried noodle dish, Mi Xao Mem Dac Biet, that was so delicious it became his new favorite dish. The whole dish has a wonderful depth of flavor and was very well balanced. The service here is excellent and the prices are a bargain. The atmosphere is minimalist and casual. I highly encourage you to try this restaurant and enjoy their unique and delightful flavors.

Sorry, just no. Pan fried flat noodles were sticking together and I have to separate them with a knife and fork, and some of it is dry out. What kind of madness is that? I don’t think I went to steakhouse?! The noodles were oily and doesn’t have not enough flavor. Only positive thing is that there’s a lot of varieties of the veggies that came with it. It doesn’t appear to be an authentic Vietnamese restaurant, the Thai Ice tea was also disappointing. Maybe I’m having bad luck with the menu but that’s enough for keeping me from coming back again.

In my quest to have Phở in all 50 states, my quest continues here in Knoxville, TN. This was state 31 and a little surprised that I have this much already. It’s definitely a side project for me while traveling and racing marathons & half marathons across the country. Thanks to Unilocal,as always for helping me locate any and all places I need through my travels. I found Viet Taste Vietnamese restaurant on Unilocal due to its strong 4 star rating. The reviews were mixed, but favored the mostly good, so I invited a friend of mine who works at UT — Knoxville nearby for dinner while I was up here for the day. It was about 5:45pm on a cozy Tuesday late afternoon. It was that type of day where Phở was possibly best choice to have. It was basically the only thing to have while in TN, while visiting friends who lived and worked in the area, especially when I was just spending 1 day/night here. Viet Taste Vietnamese restaurant was your stereotypical Vietnamese restaurant and the ambiance was very good, quiet, and casual. I like to be in my own head while dining sometimes. Viet Taste Vietnamese restaurant is definitely one of those larger restaurants that it’s both swanky and comfortable at the same time. You could not tell if it was really a mom-and-pop operation. The décor was nice and the atmosphere seemed to be your typical random Tuesday, with no special occasion to really choose from. Granted that I am a tourist in Knoxville for the day, but it was fun and low key to just have a bite here at Viet Taste. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall at 213 N Peters Road just outside downtown Knoxville. They accept major credit cards, so that’s always a good thing. The prices here are pretty good with the bowl of Phở at most $ 10, which is what I usually get anyway. With the broth so rich and somewhat decadent, it was only right to take the leftover broth in a take out container and have it for breakfast the next day with a latte or something. :) The service here was quite good and friendly. Average and polite, as per usual. The restaurant was nice and small enough to where it felt nice just to be here after a day of sightseeing, or lack thereof, and driving around Knoxville. It was great to see my friend and hope to be back to Knoxville. The broth itself had a nice earthly flavor to it. Not too dark, but it felt just right. I asked for extra vegetables, so you can have more crunch while you eat — I do like extra bean sprouts. The basil was always good and it melted in the broth with the hints or lemon and the jalapeño. The meal was a good one and thankful that Viet Taste is here in Knoxville. I’d definitely would recommend Viet Taste here in Knoxville for your go to place for Phở and Vietnamese cuisine in eastern Tennessee. Support local! B+

Expensive, long wait time for food and even for checking us out. We waited 30 minutes for our food to come to see it only has 1 meatball and few pieces of meat for my Phở Dac Biet and too much phở noodles that filled the bowl. The summer rolls were 2 rolls cut in half to make 4 for $ 4.95. Are you kidding me??? I am Vietnamese and I know over priced and mediocre food when I get serve it. Taste of al the food is good, homemade taste. But service and price is terrible. I would not go back unless I have 1.5 hours + to eat.

Tofu phở was pretty good but the broth had spice that tasted little overpowering. Summer rolls were ok but could have been packed little tighter, peanut sauce was really thick. I first thought the prices seemed little high for phở but once you receive the dish it is huge, it would be great if they’d offer a choice of small or large. Service was not the most attentive.

I absolutely love this place. It’s my go to the Phò & Bánh mì is made fresh daily. But recently it’s been very hot inside for over a month like their AC isn’t working & the cut down on servers. There’s no hostess. The poor waiters are running around doing everything. It took over 10 minutes for our drinks & over an hour for our Phò. That’s not how long it takes. Very disappointed & recently walked out when they never brought our drinks & we were inside sweating.

Grilled pork with spring roll vermicelli — I was a tad disappointed that the vermicelli noodles were so thick. I’ve never seen vermicelli so thick before. Besides the thickness, the taste was spot on. The service was great and the prices are average. Beef coconut curry — it’s a good portion. I never ordered curry from viet before but my former partner in crime did. It’s not as thick was thai curry or as coconut-y but they are far from cheap on vegetables. They gave a wide range of vegetables with the beef. Thai iced tea — it’s always refreshingly sweet. Overall, great service, great food. I wish they could change their vermicelli noodles though!

Overall the food is very good. I had the shrimp dumplings and they were excellent great sauce to go along with them. The phở broth was a little bland I had shrimp in mine. The menu has a little bit for everyone that may not care for Vietnamese cuisine. There’s fried rice and noodles. I will definitely be back just wish the broth was a little tastier.

Fresh ingredients, nice service, beautifully simple décor, extensive menu. Seriously, the menu has lots of stuff on it, a lot of things I was unfamiliar with. I feel like the portion sizes change every time we’re in there depending on the chef. So sad, skimpy summer rolls are depressing. Anyways… Overpriced thai tea. $ 3+? It’s mostly ice anyways. Funky banh mi bread, still good though. Don’t order if you’re craving the traditional french baguette. Bo luc lac(12.1) is a go-to. Its hard to mess this dish up, love the vinegar-y lettuce bed. I will keep returning to this place for the phở! It’s refreshing and super delicious and home-y tasting without high amounts of MSG or oil. Even for being a large portion of protein-filled noodle soup, I didn’t feel weighed down after finishing a bowl. I love the brisket and tendons, just wish they had tripe *_*

I always eat phở at Bida Saigon, but decided to try this new place out. It’s a bit more expensive(8.45 for the cheapest phở) but their portions are huge! I could hardly finish… To make this easy: Good: big portions, lots of meat, great service, nice interior design Bad: not very delicious broth(basically makes phở PHO) their bahn mi(Vietnamese sandwich) is not a bahn mi… it tastes like a Korean bbq sandwich which was not what I was looking for, so kinda disappointed :( It’s good but definitely not the best in town

Again, the food is amazing. It never ceases to amaze me. The service this time was on point as well. Try the Vietnamese coffee, it has a great flavor and is freshley brewed(or was for me). The shrimp dumpling appetizer(pic included) is probably one of the best I have ever had. They really go the distance with taste, service, and presentation. I love this place.

Food was good, not my favorite since it is not what I am used to. I come from Cali and the food has a different flavor all together however, I will be back for more! I had the Phở & the husband had a spicy pork noodle. The Pork was delish and I will probably opt for that next time. The service was great and staff was very nice. Location & parking where easy. All in all we enjoyed it!

Checked in here twice and they made me the Duke. But overall it’s a decent Vietnamese restaurant. I think the price is comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants that I’ve been to throughout this country. I don’t usually order beers at this kind of restaurants but they’re $ 3.50. Staffs appeared to be mostly college students. They’re pretty average for the most part. The waitress got my order wrong but I think it was an honest mistake. The only thing I usually order from here is the 4.8 Phở Dac Biet. Their Phở soup is pretty good. My only recommendation would be to offer different sizes on the Phở. I didn’t think the«regular» size phở that I got was enough for me. But maybe that’s what the Southern Tennessee folks like is a little bit of Phở. They do charge $ 1.99 for the hot tea which is why I gave them only 3 stars. Hot tea should be free!

Every time I have been here, I have had GREAT service. They staff is friendly and prompt. And while I have eaten here several times, I have only ordered one entrée. I LOVE their Vegetable Phở. I cannot get past the broth. I, far and away, prefer Viet Taste over Bida Saigon. The prices are reasonable and the portions are sizeable.
