Ah, just ok. Had many of their late night snacks and didn’t really care for them. Seemed cheap and just warmed up. Beer selection is ok, but hard to see what they have unless you ask and just remember everything they say. There is some on the menu but not all.

This is a great little place. It is just a bit pricey, but hey, it’s worth it. It is a great place to get a flight of 3 bourbons, find favorite, get 3 more, that favorite and 2 others until you narrow it down to the best! No better way to find your«go to» bourbon. You have to try one or two of their gourmet hot dogs. Unusual toppings. Delicious. The gourmet popcorn is a great snack with your drinks but is very expensive for the amount you get. I never thought I would see popcorn more expensive than at the movies. I like this place and except for the prices, I would give a 5 star.

I wish could give this place 3.5 stars. That would be the perfect rating. That atmosphere was cool! The drinks were tasty! … But the bartenders are no help and not very friendly. Also they are painfully slow. I felt bad for them. Hopefully with time they will learn to put some pep in their step. :)

I love the public house! The bartenders will remember you after your first visit, every time you come back they make you feel like family! Great cocktails, which are hard to find in Knoxville! It’s my go to bar for sure!!!

We loved this bar! The first time we went, the bartenders were social and the patrons friendly. The drinks have always been potent and fairly priced. Unfortunately, we will never return. Tonight, while spending a night with my fiancé, one of the bartenders made a negative comment that suggested that he didn’t want the bar to become a «gay bar.» As my beautiful female fiancé(did I mention we are gay) sat at the bar we were horrified to hear this type of conversation going on. As we looked around the bar, ½ of the patrons probably identified somewhere on the LGBT spectrum. I am so sad that in this day and age such a negative comment was made. We will not be returning and hope that other LGBT patrons know that you do not appreciate their patronage.

One of my favorite spots in Knoxville. Excellent wine selection, popcorn, hotdogs/veggie dogs, back patio area and vibe. If you’re a cocktail person, they have some really interesting menu items for you as well.

Perfectly adequate stop if you’re taking your family across country via greyhound and need a quick $ 6 beer to cover your bus connection next door, but popcorn takes over 30 min and the guy behind the bar in the red bandana on Sept 18th at 9:30 pm would just as well you go to any other bar in Knoxville! Great bars downtown, go try one of those!!! Tough night…

Great drinks, food, and service. Also, happy hour all day Sunday’s and Several Sunday suppers that look amazing you can sign up for. Patio is large and the location is perfect for walking or biking to if you live close to downtown.

The Public House is probably my most regularly visited bar in town. Most folks go there(I’m assuming) for the hipstery, craft cocktails such as a Manhatton with bacon infused whiskey or drinks featuring homemade syrups like lavender and even honeysuckle(sometimes). But me? I go here for the hotdogs… And the popcorn. Specifically, I have a soft spot for the kimchi dog. They are delicious, all beef franks on a perfect toasted bun topped with innovative and yummy toppings. Sometimes… I even stop and get it to go. The popcorn is also hard to resist. A big bowl of air popped popcorn, then seasoned perfectly. My favs are the dill pickle and the white truffle. Yum! The inside is hip and well designed, but the huge outside patio area is one of my favorite spots in town. It’s worth the short jaunt from downtown.

Amazing patio, great drinks(try the Golden Ticket or Honey Delight group pitcher!), and high-quality bar food. It’s in a sketchier area by the Greyhound Bus Station, but don’t let that keep you away!

The Public House has a great modern vibe, including big booths, high top tables, and an outside patio. It is very«infused bar» but in a not completely pretentious way. There was two bartenders on staff who were nice, but every drink seemed to take at least 3 minutes to make. The«kitchen» was on the right side of the bar, and like previous Unilocalers have said, everything takes forever to make. This is a great alternative to the loud and smokey bars of the old city, granted, I do love my Urban Bar.

This place has specialty cocktails. They are tasty and pricey. They also have cheap pbr and inexpensive well drinks. They have an awesome patio. I wanted to try the food but it was super busy this particular night. The food sounded good. For my cocktail I tried the bees knees. It was tasty. I’d like to go here again.

My husband and I were hanging around and looking for something that we hadn’t tried yet, and we came across this place. As we walked in, the bar had just opened but the bar keep was very friendly and welcoming. There were several really good beers on tap as well as a wonderful selection of Aussie wines we had never tried before! Looking forward to going back!

This is a nice, intimate little spot. Happy hour till eight. Had perhaps the best hot dog of my life here, with country ham. The white truffle popcorn was divine. Good, friendly service, I will definitely come back to this place.

Wow… where did this place come from… good beer, cocktails a many, and an atmosphere of confession room lighting and bar tables … This place is good, real good … when it is not completely over run by lost tourists and frat parties on a scavenger hunt(which is not often)… they have a unique menu of tasty bar treats including truffle popcorn, yum, Go here at least twice if you are in the Knoxville area.

Downtown Knoxville has A LOT of bars. I mean… A LOT! And this is good because you can find a bar for just about any occasion. Looking for somewhere to see live music? Wanna watch the game? Wanna go somewhere a little wild for a bachelorette party? The good news is that you can find somewhere for all of those things… SOMEWHEREELSE in Knoxville. The Public House is the place that you go if you want to quiet night with the friends you actually want to talk to because it’s quiet enough for conversations. It’s located just far enough away from the heart of downtown that this isn’t somewhere that you’ll find the bar hopping crowd, but you will almost always run into someone that you know! Aside from having a substantial beer and wine selection, you will be hard pressed to find anywhere in town that has better craft cocktails.(May I recommend the boozy root beer?!) Nothing at The Public House is done with a short cut! It is all super high quality! The food menu is fantastic! The hot dogs are my favorite!(KimChi is made in house and buns are sourced from Flour Head). The Pretzels and Beer Cheese are insanely delicious! Their truffle popcorn and pickle popcorn are the perfect snack with a local beer! The staff here is great! They are fast and friendly. Their outdoors area is a great place to hang out in the summer! Did I mention that it’s non-smoking?! Prices are completely reasonable. Last night, we were able to grab dinner and a drink for under $ 20 bucks. Our BBQ and chimichurri hot dogs were heaping with pork. Like I said, completely reasonable! This place is cool.

I like this spot for happy hour and they have some pretty delicious cheeses and charcuterie for snacking. Yes, everyone designates it as being a «hipster vibe» bar but a) is that even a real thing anymore? and b) who really cares?. It can get crowded at certain peak times, but in pleasant weather there’s a sizeable area out back for seating at picnic tables and patio tables.(Dogs are welcome). They make specially crafted cocktails and carry interesting wines. Although their menu changes semi-frequently, they can usually still make you«old» cocktails from previous menus/seasons. Try the Blood & Sand or the Hibiscus Sonrisa! They do have other foods besides cheeses & meats, but I haven’t tried those and frankly it always seems like it takes them FOREVER to make food(which is essentially just cheese and bread and hot dogs) because for whatever reason they have to measure(on an actual scale) every single crumb before they put it on your plate. There is plenty of nearby parking and I’m pretty sure there’s Wi-Fi.
