Senor Cactus

Señor Cactus, an unassuming place with a funny name in a little strip mall, is my new favorite Tex-​Mex place in Knoxville. The food was very good — fresh, flavorful ingredients in traditional but very well-​made dishes. My enchiladas suizas were delicious and my parents loved their chile relleno, burritos and tacos. The service was friendly and helpful too. The margaritas were a little sweet but tasty, and I thoroughly enjoyed everything.

Senior Cactus is awesome. My family and I have been here a few times and have yet to be disappointed in the slightest.
Our server is always friendly and prompt, the menu is robust, and the prices are right on point.
I’m very happy this place opened!!!

Had dinner at this new restaurant located in Karns at the traffic light. Great food and service. Three of us enjoyed a delicious meal at a reasonable prices.
The Shrimp Quesadilla was loaded with big shrimp and grilled tomatoes. The Steak Burrito was also loaded with diced steak. I do prefer my steak in bigger pieces however the meat was tender and tasty. My Chicken Chimichanga was delicious. The sides of Mexican Rice and Refried Beans was very tasty. I brought one of them home as the portions were very large.
A diner at an adjoining booth ordered the Pineapple Fajita. Served in half of a scooped out pineapple it looked and smelled delicious. I will try this on my next visit, which will be soon.

This place is amazing. I’ve been in twice. It’s a good time. The service is excellent. Lots of new things to try here, that’s for sure. Come by some time at lunch, the lunch menu is much more affordable than dinner. Tried cactus for the first time, and I can honestly say it was delicious.

Most Mexican food places are the standard #1, #2, etc. this place has legit food and reasonable prices! I had Carnitas, and it was tender, juicy, and delicious! We will be back supporting this supporter of Karns HS!

Huge servings, friendly staff, great price, great service, massive menu, clean, and the food was good. The only complaint was that it was pretty hot in there, but there were fans running. Join the text messaging for frequent deals. This might be my «hidden» gem in Karns.

Authentic Mexican food… fish tacos & carne asada are badass! The cactus and meaty cheese dip appetizer is tasty. I can finally have an adult beverage in my own community, thank you Señor Cactus.

OH MY GOODNESS! I’ve been there twice now and Senior Cactus has become my new favorite place to eat! The first time the service was very slow because they were so busy. I didn’t mind the wait because when I finally got my Arroz Con Pollo it was very, very good! The servers were most gracious and kept checking on me to make sure everything was to my satisfaction.
The second time I ate there was in the afternoon. I ordered the chicken chimichangas. I was raised on Mexican food and have had chimichangas at least 100 times in my 62 years. They were so good I asked the waitress to bring out the chef who prepared mine. I have never tipped a chef in my life, and I have eaten at everything from Taco Bell to a number of 5 star restaurants, but I tipped this guy. Yes, it was that good! The salsa was terrific, the refried beans were perfect, and the staff was wonderful.
I’m hoping they are open today for Cinco De Mayo. I want to try the next yummy thing on their menu! I’m so happy they opened up just down the road from me!

I have been three times so far already– so excited to have a Mexican restaurant in Karns! The first time was wonderful– very good service, great food, good salsa and chips. Second time was good but very slow food service. The waiter was wonderful and apologetic. Third time the waitress spoke poor English and did not understand a drink we were ordering off the menu. She called for help. Food service was again slow, but very tasty. Refried beans were too ‘spicy’ for my 8 year old, but good for me! Third time also received their punch card for free meals and found out kids eat free Mondays! We will be back — hoping they will just get better with time. Really thrilled to have them close by!

I was not impressed. I got fish tacos and they just weren’t good. The rice was bland and over cooked to the point it was like eating uncooked rice. Daught got fajitas. I tasted a piece of steak and chicken. Steak had no flavor. Queso wasn’t bad and we liked the salsa. This place needs to hone in on smaller meno so they can improve the quality. Won’t go back.
Update 9−2…tried again. Food better than first experience.

I ordered a Quesadilla with guacamole salad and rice. It was delicious! I will say that the Choco-​Taco I had for desert was pretty lame. It was Dove bar with whipped cream on top and presented on a plate.
The staff were very nice!

I love this place! The menu is huge and they have many choicea not just mexican food. They seated us right away and we didnt have to wait on chips and salsa. Our waitress was awesome! She was super friendly and made sure our order was correct and exactly what we wanted. We had several other waiters that came to our table to make sure our meal was good and we were ok. Our drinks were always topped off. Outstanding service! The food was largely portioned and the prices were minimal. The refried beans were alittle spicy but wonderful! The beef in my taco was seasoned perfectly. The queso was delicious! The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned well with lots of flavor. They have several tvs to wat h the games, news, etc on. Along with a full service bar. As we left we were handed punch cards to get free meals after the 8^th lunch we purchase. It says in the card that Mondays kids eat free with each paying adult. Also military, law enforcement, college students, fireman, and seniors get 10% off their bill with their ID. I highly recommend eating here! They have only been open a week and are doing a wonderful job, it can only grow and get better from here.
