Okay, this was the first morning of our weekend trip and even though the group was hollering for Mickey D’s.I wanted to try something NEW… and none of us had ever been to a PERKINS. so winner winner chicken dinner… Perkins it was and it was at our nearest exit. so to Perkins we go!!! When we got there, it was not packed so that is a good thing when you are on the road in the early am with other destinations on your mind. Our waitress was friendly, she sit us and gave us the menus and took our drink order. I went for soda.(my normal go to) I wished afterwards I had opted for HOTTEA but too late… already ordered I went for a plain one egg over easy with home fried potatoes sausage links and white toast. gave the potatoes and sausage to my daughter and I ate my egg and toast. it was good. Nothing special, nothing to write home to mama over… but it was good. So I gave them a 3 for average!!! I would go again! I would recommend to others! Good restaurant !

In a world full of restaurants which are constantly changing one thing or another, Perkins is the comfy old sweater of restaurants. They have kept the same look, service, and menu(with only minor changes) for the last several decades. Their lunch and dinner offerings are focused on comfort food. I do wish they had vegetarian options, but hey, they are old school and that’s part of their charm. Fortunately breakfast is available all day and all night(yes they are open 24 hours!) Relatively new on the menu are«Smashers.» Picture a plate of smashed tater tots, a layer of toppings of your choice, and a layer of eggs cooked to your liking. I like to call these«deconstructed omelettes.» The tots have a crunchy outside adding the right amount of texture to the dish. The eggs always seem to be perfectly cooked, never dry and never greasy. I get the«The Garden of Eatin’» Smasher which is veggie-only option. It comes with creamy hollandaise sauce, but honestly I don’t think the sauce is necessary. The dish tastes creamy as it is. You can add a muffin for 99 cents(or for no charge on some dishes) and it is totally worth it. Their muffins are huge and delicious. Check them out in the display case on your way in. Also in the display case are their legendary pies. I can’t think of any other restaurant where I would gladly pay $ 10-$ 15 for a pie, but I certainly would here. Always have, always will. My favorite is the«Peanut Butter Silk Pie.» If you like Resse’s Peanut Butter Cups, you will love this pie. While it seems most heritage restaurants try to fix things which aren’t broken, fortunately Perkins is the exception.

I have always had a good experience at this restaurant. The people are normally nice and friendly and check up on you constantly. Their food is delicious! Whenever we order pancakes we always got 3 instead of one without realizing. Early in the morning is when the elderly tend to go get their food so at 6 – 9 am it will be busy and you might have to wait a bit. The pies in the case are $ 12.99 right now for a whole homemade pie. This place is also pretty peaceful.

Just had a horrible experience at the Perkins. We generally have had good experiences at Perkins’ restaurants before, but this one was awful. We were greeted by a waitress who my wife and I feel she was clearly high on drugs. The place was empty on «kids eat free» day, that should have been the first sign. Next, the food took about 35 minutes to arrive at our table. The food was bland and not hot. After the meal, I asked for a pie for the entire family to share. She looked at me blankly, and said, «an entire pie?», like we just killed her dog. The pies are pre made, so that shouldn’t have been a big deal. When she brought the pie, she couldn’t remember what the spatula was named. She said«here is the thing, to cut the thing.» The pie was good though(that is why this gets one star). After our waitress left, a different waitress came by to refill our drinks, she took our empty cups and we never saw them again. $ 47 later(on kids eat free day) we left. They could have done many things different to get above 1 star rating. But utmost, they could have at least cared about their jobs.

Visited this place for the first time, and had their Butterball Turkey Dinner. My husband had a toasted club sandwich. When we got there, the entire place was empty at appx 8pm. Upon asking the waitress if this was normal, she said that it was, however, they had been robbed at gunpoint the night before, so that unsettled us a little bit. The food was very good however, the place was clean, and the pies in the window looked absolutely delicious. Prices and menu similar to iHop. Our bill came to $ 20 for two people. I recommend to give it a try.
