I can’t give a restaurant with this high a calorie to price ratio that bad a review. Did not wind up hungry. On the other hand… Lord, it was quirky. I will try other things next time. Ordered: Tangsuyook, Korean sweet and sour pork Vegetable lo mein Potato cake Eggrolls(2 /$ 1 eggrolls, to be sure) Got: Battered and fried pork, no extra flavoring, with rice and a tub of Burger King onion ring sauce Puffy, I guess overboiled lo mein with lots of big vegetable pieces A hash brown, one solid step up from Mickey D’s Two biggish spring roll things that my wife said she didn’t like but nevertheless did not let me have any of –plus– A Big Gulp cup full of HOT, as in boiling, pickled onion/cucumber/carrot A halved boiled egg with the white stained brown, probably the tastiest thing in the package Some of that white mildly pickled cabbage my wife loves Some kim chee, too salty for my wife, about the right spiciness for me but therefore way too white for a real Korean, I’m sure Some white potato salad. There is a Hawaiian involved in this, mark my words.

Go for the Korean! Glass noodle in very flavorful spicy broth in the yukgaejang was great!

This place was absolutely terrible. They don’t even deserve a star. The rice was very dry and bland like it was reheated from weeks ago. The hibachi chicken had random hairs on it and the sauce was awful. We asked for eel sauce for our sushi and they bring out some red sauce that had old rice chunks in it and a worm looking stringy thing. The water tasted like tap water. The experience and food was awful.

Korean hot pot land! I came here on the off chance that there would be authentic something… anything in Knoxville with flavor I will drag up from whatever hole it hides in… and I found some seriously inexpensive, delightful Korean hiding in a strip mall! Well knock me down with a feather! They do serve some Chinese-American, and people there were ordering it and using forks… but the real tell was the Kim Chee. I know they made it there. That was a unique flavor blend, and came from no jar I know of that’s sold in Knoxville. I’m knocking off a ½ star for when they say seafood, they mean squid. And I have aquired a taste for squid thankfully, and thiers was just fine. But… on the menu it should say squid plus two muscels and a shrimp. Another ½ star goes down for decorating, this is a strip mall and it’s not laid out the best inside. They could move a few tables around and have a better flow. A solid +1 star for each the authentic tasty Korean food, wonderful personality of the staff, low price, and large quantity served per dish. I tapped out without finishing my spicy soups. Thanks for making Knoxville a little more like big cities, because I want to eat the world without leaving my town.

How this place received any stars is beyond me. The chicken meat was gray and had obviously expired. The food tasted horrendous. Yes, it’s cheap. I would rather play higher prices and eat at a more reputable establishment with high quality good.

Inside is sparsely furnished and a tiny bit icky, but don’t let that deter you. I’d avoid the Japanese fare altogether. This place shines because of its Korean dishes. Very flavorful and spicy.

Very good food and reasonable price. You will have to wait for your food to be cooked. The bowl is hot! Be careful.

I went to this restaurant because its higher than average rating in the area, but the moment they served my food I knew I made a wrong choice. I ordered one tuna roll, one eel roll, spicy beef soup and Jajangmyeon. Start with the sushis. Those tuna pieces are the smallest I’ve ever seen! It’s roughly the size of my thumbnail. The rice they used was like either left over or overcooked(I cook and eat rice everyday so I can totally tell). The Nori(Seaweed) sheet was very chewy and it tasted like plastic. And the most ridiculous thing was that the eel roll has no eel in it but only with eel sauce on the top. It’s definitely not a sushi place(even they have«sushi» in its name). The waiter didn’t give me sushi menu until I asked for it. Jajangmyeon is Korean style noodles with bean past sauce. My bf ordered it and I just had a taste but refused to have more… He however, ate them all eventually so I guess the noodles were OK to him. I think they should at least add some cucumber shreds(not good looking with black sauce only). The only thing I was satisfied with today was my spicy beef soup(maybe because it was spicy and I didn’t taste anything else). The order came with 4 side dishes as you can see in other ppl’s post. I was very disappointed about all them. Their Kimchi was like cabbage with kimchi sauce on the surface, which means you could taste cabbage and the sauce but not Kimchi. They probably made the Kimchi yesterday. It usually takes two weeks to make the sauce go inside the cabbage. The last thing I want to say is it’s the only Korean restaurant I know offering egg slices as side dishes. Really? There are many things like seaweed salad, pickles or dried radish that can be offered but why eggs? I hate boiled egg. My bf said it was OK cuz you got what you paid for but it turned out that I paid $ 38 for the dinner. With the price you can definitely find another place which is way better than this one. If you like Korean food I recommend Kaya, which is the best Korean restaurant in the west Knoxville area. Again, it’s not a Japanese restaurant and avoid sushi if you still decide to eat here. I should have given them 2 stars but I decided to change to 3 because the owner was very nice and friendly. BUT no more eating at Osaka Hibachi & Sushi for me.

Go here for the affordable Korean food. Don’t get the sushi, it’s just not their specialty — in fact I would suggest this business change their name, it leads many people down the wrong path with their food. I’ve tried some of the other Korean food in town and I keep coming back to this place. I’m sure there’s better in NYC, but for Knoxville, this place is better and more affordable than other options. Forgive me for forgetting names, but the last dish I had has been my favorite so far, it was a pork pancake dish that had a fun crunch to it and just slightly saltier than I would have made myself. Agree with the other reviewer that said the kimchi isn’t spicy if you’re used to heat, but average Americans will likely say it has a kick.

This place is amazing! Seriously. It may not seem like much on the surface, but the food it fantastic and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I had the General Tso’s Chicken and it is delicious. Subtle sweetness at first and then some heat. The fried rice is simple(no added vegetables or anything), yet delicious. To beat it all, it’s only $ 5! You can get egg rolls 2 for $ 1 as well. My boyfriend had one of the Korean dishes, Japchaebap, which is pan fried vegetables, pork, and rice noodles served with steamed rice. It was amazing and only ran about $ 9. The portions are generous and the atmosphere is nice and comfortable. It’s not cramped or over decorated like many Asian restaurants are. I highly recommend going here.

We are regulars here. It is a great place to eat. Not a fancy place, but good food and great prices. Excellent stuff. The staff is amazing. Always very friendly. Definitely check this place out! Delivery is available through a third-party service.

I’ve driven by this place a hundred times, without even realizing it was there. Thanks to Unilocal,I found it, and boy am I grateful. The name says hibachi and sushi, but that’s just to get you in there. The real thrill is the awesome Korean food. We got an order of egg rolls, a crunchy sushi roll, Dolsot Bibimbap, the sides, and some other dish. We thought we ordered a Korean dish that was rice cakes and crab cakes, but we got a dish that was some sort of thick noodle, strips of tofu, and crazy spicy sauce. Neither of us really cared for it, and they didn’t charge us for it because of the mistake. Because of this, I kinda just discount it as part of the review. If anything, the awesome service helped. The egg rolls were good. Like what are often called«spring rolls,» they were light and crispy. The sushi was actually much better than I expected. The roll was absolutely massive and the inside flavors were very fresh, though a bit covered in sauce. I don’t think I would go here just for the sushi, but splitting a roll was a great part of the meal. With the Korean dishes, you get Banchan, sides. In five dishes, you get a potato salad, black beans, kimchee, cabbage, and flavored boiled eggs. They were all fun to try, but the boiled eggs were actually awesome. They’re cooked in beef broth(I believe) and could actually make a pretty mean meal on their own. However, all of this pales in comparison to the bibimbap. It comes out in a huge stone pot, with carrots, zucchini, onions(maybe?), sprouts, and meat. All arranged over rice, and topped with a fried egg, with a majestically runny yolk. It started off a bit bland, but adding a little paste, busting the egg, and mixing everything together made it an awesome dish. The rice gets a bit crispy and it doesn’t dry out. Even better, the veggies still have a great crunch, which makes for a combo of textures that keeps things interesting, without being overwhelming. They also have $ 5 specials, General’s Chicken, Sesame Chicken, and Honey Chicken. We didn’t get any of those, but the guys next to us did. The portions were even more massive than ours and it smelled delicious. The bill came to around $ 20, which was way less than I thought. It was a ridiculous amount of food(no complaints!) and the one dish, one roll, and two egg rolls, filled two of us. I don’t know of a better Asian restaurant in Knoxville, but I certainly don’t know of a better Korean place!

It’s a large restaurant so big parties are welcome. There’s only one server, which seems to be common in all the family owned restaurants I’ve been to so far, and she’s very sweet. She is Chinese born in Korea and speaks Korean and mandarin. She was quite disappointed when I told her I only speak Cantonese and only visited Korea for a summer. It was the funny«disappointment» type of humor! Prices — the bang for your buck Korean food. The portions are huge and the prices are cheap! Dolsot tofu bibimbop — huge stone pot with assorted veggies and a few strips of pan fried tofu. It doesn’t say you can replace the meat with tofu but you can! The fried egg, with a runny yolk, lies perfectly in the middle for you to crush while mixing everything with the hot red pepper paste. You’ll get a whole bottle of the paste, so you can add as much as you want. I loved that it didn’t have a mushy watery taste after I mixed everything which add brownie points. Some parts of the rice also got crunchy dunchie! Which is the best part of the meal. This shows how Asian I truly am. Jajangmyun — impressively delicious. Again, the portion size is fabulously worth every dime. They weren’t cheap on the pork and veggies and the noodles tasted very fresh. It was smooth and chewy rather than stale. Fried rice — I am so shocked that they served fried rice with the sesame chicken instead of white rice. And it had a unique taste to it. Maybe it was the sesame oil? I’m usually not a fan of fried rice but this was really good. It wasn’t oily, or plain, or bland or too flavorful. It was simple and pleasant. Banchan — I’m curious by they options. I wonder if they change it up. I had a potato salad, flavored boiled eggs, sweetened black beans and kimchee that wasn’t that spicy. But for my friends it was considered spicy because they can’t handle spice. Overall, the food was great. The prices are cheap. The portions are large. The environment felt warm. They also serve Chinese food and sushi but I would just go for the Korean food. They have a lot of options that other Korean restaurants in Knoxville doesn’t have. But I’m surprised they don’t serve kimbop. FYI: you have to walk to the counter to pay your bill. Please be patient and understandable since she is the only sever and does everything. If you need to pack your food, you’ll have to to up and tell her. And before you do that, look at the amount of food you have left over because she will ask you what size container you’ll need. I think this is the first 5 star I gave to a restaurant in Knoxville so this is a real gem.

Came here to try the Korean food and it was OK considering there are really no other places like it in the Knox area. It fulfilled my craving but nothing special. The sundubu jigae was pretty good. The banchan(side dishes) could be better though. The service here is the best. The lady who runs the place is so sweet. I will be back when I get my next craving.

Yes yes and yes. They have decent sushi and very well priced Chinese but I recommend you order from the Korean menu. Their bibimbsp I’d authentic. They bring you complimentary Korean Ppetuzers. I love this place.

I have been here a couple of times, and it is so underwhelming. I tend to order the hibachi style vegetables, and they’re just so… ordinary. I question whether they’re stir fried as much as they are just steamed. The veggies are your basic frozen Asian medley, and they come with fried rice. It’s extremely reasonably priced, but I probably won’t be back. I would consider returning to try one of their Korean dishes, however. I have heard great things.

Great reliable Korean. Easy to eat in or takeaway. Ya the health scores are sketchy on and off but I don’t go there for the sushi.

I really wanted to like this place since its so close to where I live. However, I only tried the sushi so my review is only based on that. I got a Philly roll. The roll is extremely bland, you really couldn’t taste any flavors. I had to pretty much over do the soy sauce to get any flavor. Unfortunately, Nama Sushi will have to be where I go for sushi still. I will have to write another review when I try some of their Korean dishes.
