Aisle nine is a great little grocery store/deli — Jessica the lovely clerk is so sweet and she makes the peanut butter pie herself and it is to die for! Aside from the fact she stocks up on all the grocery essentials you need in a pinch she has a GREAT selection of beers in the store as well(including rogue which is hard to find out in this neck of the woods) and she is so open to local businesses and entrepreneurs and opens her space up to pretty much anyone who needs some shelf space — her food is great and vegan/vegetarian/organic friendly and extremely tasty!

I love Aisle Nine. This place captured my attention when I first relocated to Knoxville from Chicago. I thought the look and feel of Aisle Nine was on point. Let me just say, the interior is very well designed. I appreciate that it manages to offer such a wide variety of products. They not only carry my beloved GT’s Kombucha, they also have Ben & Jerry’s, all the staples of home life, a fantastic beer selection, and have recently picked up a vitamin line. They are also known to have some killer First Friday events with great art, music, and refreshments and are conveniently open till all hours of the morning. I will say that though my love for the Aisle runs deep(the employees are really great, diverse and entertaining people) I feel that there is much unused potential. There are several cold cases that often have produce that goes untouched and unwanted. Come on Old City residents, buy some produce! Not to mention that there has been talk of food service opening up in the back. Which I for one, would love. This would really complete Aisle Nine as a local hang out. The front of the store is decked out with an amazing vintage couch, tables and chairs. My only other gripe is that although they carry many local lines, Lay’s Meat and Cruze Farm Dairy, I would like to see more local vendors and more attention paid to higher quality meats. Otherwise, Aisle Nine is the place to be. You can get most anything you desire at most times of the day.
