Willy’s Wieners

I recently moved here from Chicago and was craving Chicago style food so I thought I’d try the Italian Beef sandwich from here. Let me just say it is no where near a Chicago style beef sandwich. In my opinion Portillo’s and Johnny’s are the best places in Chicago to get a beef sandwich and anyone who’s ever had a real Italian beef knows the meat is paper thin. At Willy’s the meat is way too thick. The au jus doesn’t have a very good taste to it either. I haven’t tried their hot dog but my husband did and said that it was good but not great. They may be using Chicago ingredients but it doesn’t have the Chicago taste.

Finally I found something good to eat while working in Kissimmee. The hot dog and fries here hit the spot.
Service was fast and friendly, even at peak lunch hour. I have no idea why folks have complained here about the parking. Willy’s is literally inside a free parking garage. While their front door opens to the street, the back door leads right into the garage. It’s even painted with their logo and I think they leave it open (I could see cars parked for free from the counter as I ordered).
All in all, a good spot for lunch indeed. I’ll be back for the Italian beef. Oh, Unilocalers get 10% off for checking in too.

A few nights ago, I decided to take my wife out for dinner. Being a big spender, I suggested Willy’s Weiners. My wife reluctantly agreed.
I am quite descriminating when it comes to hot dogs and believe I can pick the good ones, so here goes. The place is small, clean but parking was not convenient. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I ordered the Chicage Dog basket which comes with fries and drink. My wife had a Chili Cheese Dog basket which was also served with fries and a drink.
The Chicago dog was good. It had all the fixings that make a Chicago dog original including the poppy seed bun. It was quite good. Unfortunately, the fries were ok but tasted like they had been partially cooked and then reheated when ordered. Some of the fries were somewhat hard and not really hot like fresh fries are. Very unfortunate. Also prices were a little high for a hot dog. Our bill was over $ 14 for our order.
To sum everything up, I’ve had better. Considering the parking, prices and poor fries, I would rate them 3.5 stars but there is no way to do that so I will give them 3 stars. But even with 3 stars, it is still a place to try for an original Chicago style hot dog, just don’t waste money on the fries.

Great little place! Clean, great sandwich options, the onion rings were hot and tasty, and the dogs (plenty of options) were prepared to order, hot and fresh! The staff was friendly, convenient street parking right out front!

I think what I loved the most about this place was the fact that the hot dogs weren’t PORK! I don’t eat pork for my own preference; so when they told me they were beef hot dogs I was so happy! These hot dogs taste AMAZING! Especially with the chips on top? Omg that’s heaven within itself! I love this place, I always stop in when I pass through Kissimmee! It’s a MUST!

Lunchtime hunger pangs brought me to Willy’s. The Jumbo Naked Dog with ketchup and onions was my choice of hunger pang weaponry. The dog was generously sized (it was a jumbo after all) and quite delicious. This is a great spot for a quick afternoon lunch and its cheap eats to boot — a dog with chips and a drink was about 6 bucks. Add a friendly staff, plenty of high top tables and a great view of the local train station and you have a high chance of my return.

A pretty authentic Chicago style hot dog stand. Very small, but then again most of the authentic ones in Chicago are as well. Just a few tables for sitting inside, and a couple out on the sidewalk in front. Lots of traditional fare, including hot dogs, beef sandwiches, crispy hot fries, etc. Easy parking, right off the main street in downtown Kissimmee. Worth a drive if you’re a Chicago native and a Vienna hot dog fan like me.

What a great find! The food was exactly as expected for a hot dog place! They had every kind you could think of-​and then some! I also really enjoyed the speciality root beer! The best part of the restaurant were the super friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely visit again!

First time going and loved it! I usually go to the other well known hot dog place in Orlando but since I work by this place I decided to go on my lunch. Ordered the Chicago combo and a chili slaw was surprised about the price (in a good way) will definitely go again!

This is the real deal, Italian Beef dipped in au jus with giardiniera peppers on imported Chicago bread!!! Thank God!!!

I am very sorry I took so long to do a follow up on this place. My wife and I were asked back by the owners almost immediately.
I got the chili dog with extra onions as well as chili fries with onions. The chili was just the right amount of spicy. Fries were crisp. My daughter (who isn’t really a fan of hot dogs) finished hers and wanted a bite of mine.
Service was fast and excellent. Cannot wait to go back!

I loved the italian beef here with the giardiniera. Delicious! The brat with kraut was really good too! I’ve also tried the chicago dog here, but it was only so so. It ends up too cold after all the toppings are added. All in all, I like it!

Had the Italian beef sandwich. I guess if you want the regular size you get in chicago you have to pony up more cash for the large one.
All in all it tasted good, not the” oh my god this is great“Italian beef from portillos which you can’t put down.
I asked for it dipped, watched the guy I think they think that stuff is gold because he was not dipping it. just spooning it. must be the weak rolls can’t handle a dip.

WOW. What a great feeling to walk in and have it smell like HOME here in Kissimmee! The hubby found this place last week and ate here without me, I didn’t speak to him the rest of the night. I finally made it in today and it’s the real deal. I had the beef, dipped with hot peppers and savored every bite. Fries are awesome, sat out on one of the picnic tables, enjoyed the shade here in Florida. Willy’s is just as good as Fluky’s or any other Chicago hot dog joint. What a treat! Staff are fantastic, food is 100% authentic, and the Bears and Wrigley stuff on the walls made it just right. I will be stopping in at least once a week and I have to tell ya, if you’re a transplant like me from up north… you will love it! A block off Broadway downtown… you can’t go wrong. YUM!

Imported directly from Chicago the Vienna products used here make superb hot dogs that remind me of The Windy City!
The owner is really nice so is the rest of the staff on hand today. It’s a small hot dog joint that’s well kept, CLEAN, is authentic, and the food is prepared fast.
The Vienna Beef and friendly atmosphere reminds me of home — I love directly between Chicago and Milwaukee (home of really good food and beer). It definitely has a lot of Midwest character and flavor. I love that!
I’m very happy that I stopped in today. Everything from their service to their food will have me coming back for more when I am in town.
Please treat yourself to an authentic Chicago style dog. You won’t be sorry. Take it from professional tour bus driver who’s been all over North America including Canada, this place is a gem.
Just for reference this location is just a block off of Broadway (the main road thru downtown Kissimmee) and next to the train station. You’re close to downtown and the lake. Take stroll over for a dog!

Not bad hotdogs, nice boss. Good flavor. I’d say if they add more veggie on the hotdogs gonna be really fantastic.

This place is great. I lived in Chicago for 3 years and can say that this place is truly authentic. Real ingredients shipped from Chicago. The Italian beef is better than Al’s #1. Great place! And, you will meet a lot of people from CHI here.

Stopped in today on the way to the turnpike. Great locally owned shop. Ordered chicago dogs and slaw dogs, really delicious Vienna beef dogs and crispy fries. Mike the owner is super friendly and takes a lot of pride in the food and it shows. Stop in and support these guys!
