Nice atmosphere and plenty of seating. Service was quick and friendly. Restaurant and bathrooms were both clean. However for BBQ it was ok. I had the pulled pork and ribs and my fellow diner had the pork and brisket. Brisket tasted more like pot roast than what I think of when you say BBQ brisket. All the meat was tender however no smoke flavor and seasoning was bland. I am a minimalist when it comes to BBQ sauce however here it was needed for flavor, which to me isn’t good BBQ. The mango BBQ sauce was delicious. Sides were ok, potatoes were under cooked but I enjoyed their coleslaw. Overall food was fine just not BBQ.

The name says hot bar-b-que and my family and me were served cold food with no flavor and the pull pork it was almost all fat and they didn’t have no ribs, the brisket was only 3 miserable pieces the corn was not cooked and hard I don’t recommend it.

Horrible customer service. Wouldn’t go back. The person behind the counter was absolutely rude. Then pulled pork was nothing but fat.

So I felt like bbq chicken. I looked at their website; it stated they had bbq chicken, when I drove up to the restaurant; a huge painted sign on the window BBQ Chicken, when I walked in and I read the menu that was on the wall; it stated bbq chicken, when I walked up to the counter…“we don’t sell bbq chicken anymore”. I ordered the pulled chicken instead… not good choice. Way too much sauce, it was soupy. The Texas toast looked more like a pancake then toast; it was that flat. The sides were nothing special and lacked flavor. Well I guess it’s back to Sonny’s

Drove by and noticed the smoker, sight and smell, so I decided to swing a u turn and give it a try. I ordered the brisket and ribs as I almost always do when I eat bbq and neither disappointed. The young lady behind the counter informed me that all sides were made in house and recommended the beans and slaw which I went with. The slaw was good but the beans, well I thought they were excellent, they even had pieces of brisket in them, yum. I did try a little of all of the sauces and while I was not a fan of the Carolina sauce, felt it was too sweet for my liking but I really enjoyed the mango and spicy sauces. I enjoyed a little of the Texas toast that came with the meal as well. A 2 meat combo along with a large fountain drink was only $ 16 which I thought was a decent value as well. I will return for sure.

My husband had a craving for BBQ so we looked up something close to where we were staying. Don’t get me wrong, I’m from Canada, so we’re not known as connoisseurs of BBQ, but I know delicious, and this was it! I had the brisket, and hubby had pulled pork and smoked sausage. I had corn and coleslaw and hubby had coleslaw and cornbread. All the sides were really yummy. There was a selection of BBQ sauces available as well as hot sauce. Picking from the menu on the screens and getting sides from the cafeteria style counter was easy and fun, and the casual vibe felt just right. The manager also came around to make sure were were enjoying our meal. So for $ 14.98, I had ½ lb of brisket, delicious coleslaw, and a half cob of corn + a mug of draft beer! Hubby got his meal for $ 11.98. I mean how can you beat that?! My only disappointment was that they were out of ribs when we came in — that’s what I really had a craving for, but the tender brisket still did the trick. I would definitely go back again next time we’re in the area!

This review isn’t from a single visit but half a dozen. We are locals and when we first found this place we were excited to find a a good local BBQ joint. They have a great smoked sausage and very tasty sauces. However every time we’ve gone in, service has been grim, no other way to describe it but they are just kind of jerks. That’s okay though, we don’t come here to make friends, just eat food. We then placed a very large order for our corporate event. They did not include 3 of the items in the order. 1 or maybe 2 I could write off as forgotten, 3 is inept. On our last family order, we brought it nicely to their attention that our last order was missing several items and we love their food but the service is not up to par, they shrugged their shoulders in their usual fashion. When we brought the food home, a very long, black, thick hair found a home in our side. Our phone call to the manager was hung up before it reached them. No more for us. Again, I’m a very passive person and forgiving especially when it comes to services, but this is it, this is a true reflection of their business. Not one problem but many. The search is on for our new BBQ go to place in central Florida.

I’m from Texas, so I know BBQ. And while this isn’t Texas BBQ, it is decent ‘que. I opted for the rice bowl(rice at a BBQ place?!) and got it with dirty rice and brisket. It was very reminiscent of Moe’s streakers(burrito bowls) but with smoked beef. The hubby had brisket and sausage and the kids had a few side items. The flavors are spot on, though the brisket was a little more fatty than what I’d prefer. The meat was moist and a great portion size. The mac n cheese isn’t over the top amazing, but our 2-year old scarfed it down. The parsley potatoes were flavorful and garlic bread was fresh All in all, it was a great meal. And from 4 – 7, free draft… only Budweiser or Bus Light… but it was free. Be sure to check in too, you’ll get a free side item.

We are visiting and this was our last night here in the Kissimmee/Orlando area. We were looking for a good BBQ place and this was just down the road from our hotel. The 3.5 rating did not do this place justice. We both had the 2 meat combos and were very satisfied with our choices. Brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken. It was some of the best BBQ we have had.

This place had such great promise, but it has gone way downhill. Barbecue should stand upon its own without any sauce needed. Any sauce should compliment the flavors. I got the three meat combo to split: brisket, chicken and pork with two sides of mac & cheese and coleslaw. The brisket was dry as the Sahara and the chicken was smothered in an unknown sauce of bland origins. The pulled pork albeit under seasoned was decent. The Mac and cheese came from a blue box«deluxe» version and the coleslaw had zero seasoning. This isn’t even decent for Florida BBQ. In short, avoid this place.

This is the Subway of BBQ. That is not a compliment. Our over-priced food was also over-salty, over-steamed(dry) and all around unappetizing. The sides [cole slaw, mac n’ cheese, potato salad] tasted of the plastic vats from which they likely emerged and the Texas toast was hard in places. Neither of us finished our food.

I was on my way to smoky bones(since it was the highest ratted BBQ joint nearby on Unilocal), but I have something against eating in chain restaurants when I’m traveling. I could see Rosie’s from the stoplight I was at and remembered seeing it highly ranked on Unilocal as well. So I re-routed myself to Rosie’s. It was about 11:30am Monday morning so I’m not sure if that will have anything to do with the food quality, but I just figured that I’d throw the time of day in here. I’m pretty sure that I was the first customer of the day and I was hungry as I skipped breakfast knowing that I was going to fill my gut with tasty southern BBQ before I hopped on a plane back to the BBQ-lacking north. I went with the 3 meat platter(Brisket, Pulled Pork, Sausage) which came with 2 sides(I picked Mac & Cheese and the Baked Beans) as well as 4 slices of Texas toast. I’ll start off with the mediocre: Mac & Cheese and the Sausage. I probably would have tried the ribs, but I was reading a book during my meal and knew that ribs were an impossibility so I stuck with things I could eat with a fork. Whenever I’m in the south I try to hit up some BBQ place since it’s the land of delicious BBQ and I occasionally get sausage but I’m rarely impressed anywhere so that’s why I’m just going with a mediocre rating for the sausage. It had a decent smoke flavor to it, but it honestly reminded me of Hillshire Farm Polish Kielbasa. I ate it all, so it couldn’t have been bad, just middle of the road. Mac & Cheese is another thing that I’m rarely impressed with anywhere. It was hearty, generic, not bad, but there was nothing unique about it. I ate all of it too. The Underwhelming: Pulled Pork. I have my own smoker and if I know how to do anything in that smoker it is pulled pork(still trying to get my brisket figured out!). I always go with a picnic roast when I’m making pulled pork and I’m not sure what they went with. Whatever I ended up getting was not very moist and it didn’t pull very well. It seemed like a lean piece of the pork loin. I didn’t get the impression that it was smoked for its entire cooking process. There appeared to be a slight char on the ends, but this could have easily been slow roasted in an oven. There wasn’t much flavor, but you could douse it with one of the great sauces available and you’d be in business. Again it was early Monday, so I’m not sure if that had anything to do with this because I saw a few favorable reviews for the pulled pork on here. The Must Haves: Brisket & Baked Beans. I was given a huge portion of brisket that varied from burnt-end-esqu pieces to the moist fatty brisket. There was great char on the meat, and a noticeable smoke ring. Great smoke flavor that didn’t require any sauce as the meat was moist and well prepared. The beans were a mixture of beans as well as some brisket ends. The sauce of the beans was a little sweeter than I tend to go for, but my favorite of the two sides that I got. I also liked the Texas Toast that came with the meal, but only had 2 of the 4 slices since I am watching my girlish figure. I only saw two workers in there at the time but they were very pleasant. The guy gave me a 20% off coupon(which I’m not sure when I’ll be back this way to use) and he stopped by a few times to check on me. My meal with a fountain drink was $ 22.87 and I saw some reviews saying that prices were steep. I feel like it was good value for the amount of food that I got(but I’m also from the NYC area so that could be skewing my concept of value). It was definitely cheaper than my favorite(and only decent) BBQ place in my area, so I’d say that it was good value.

Date of service: Feb 10, 2015 Meal: Lunch, eat in All Ratings out of 10: Quality of food: 6 Food to Spend Value: 6 Quality of Service: 7 Overall Rating: 6 I love BBQ, but depending on where you are in the country it can be difficult to find worthy BBQ. I don’t personally consider Central Florida to be a mecca for BBQ, but when some coworkers suggested we go to Rosie’s for lunch while I was in Orlando on a business trip, I was excited to check it out. Rosie’s has a southern BBQ feel with many meats to choose from and country style BBQ appropriate sides. Ribs and brisket are generally my go to meats, so on this trip I decided to try their ribs. As sides I chose mac and cheese and beans, and it also came with a couple pieces of garlic toast. The ribs were fairly average. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t fantastic either. The sides, on the other hand, were fantastic, which was a breath of fresh air for a BBQ joint. Both the mac and cheese and beans were full of flavor and left me wishing I had more. They complemented the meat nicely, though they also had me wishing the ribs were as good as they were. Overall Rosie’s was a mixed bag for me. The prices were reasonable, the service was reasonable, and the portion sizes were good. I had the ribs, but looking at other meats made me think I would have a similar experience if I had gotten something else. All of the sides looked amazing though. I would go back again if in the area since it is convenient and was tasty, but I wouldn’t seek it out as a BBQ mecca, as it is certainly not that.

Apparently they’ve changed hands since the last time we’ve gone, and not for the better. To start their prices have gone up, and they were already very high to begin with! We usually order beef brisket by the pound, which was $ 15/lbs, now it’s $ 10 for half a pound!(aka $ 20/lbs) Without sides! Of course, their Facebook page menu still shows the old prices, talk about a bait and switch. The quality has gone down as well. At least half the brisket was fat, with the charred parts being mushy. Service is still incredibly slow, ten minutes to unwrap the brisket from its plastic wrap, weigh it, stick it in a box and checkout.(and we were the only customers in the restaurant!) That said, the staff are still friendly. In the end though, not worth it at all, we won’t be back. Better to take your money and drive up to Four Rivers, or even go to a steakhouse.(and a steakhouse will give you large sides included in the price!) Too bad, really wanted to see this place do well.

As I drove down the road the BBQ smell hit my nostrils and I literally turned left hard to see what that heavenly smell was! As I waited to order they seemed a little overwhelmed but being it’s a tourist city they need to be ready at all times for the Rush. I had the brisquit which was reallyyyyyy flavorful and also the coleslaw which was perfect. They have a huge front porch where you sit and watch the passers by and smell the BBQ cooking away. The line never did subside so everyone else must of smelled it too! :)

I’m going to start with the food: I had a pulled pork sandwich and my husband had a brisket sandwich. The meat was cooked very nicely, although my husband’s brisket was a little better seasoned than mine. The buns were buttered and toasted– very good. We slathered our sandwiches in the sweet and mango sauces. Together they were very good. I got cole slaw and he got baked beans. He liked his baked beans(I didn’t as much), and my cole slaw was okay, nothing special. Now on to everything else: the prices were close to outrageous. With 2 drinks, we were at $ 22, for 2 small sandwiches and 2 small sides. I also find sonny’s delicious, and there I can get all you can eat ribs and sides for the same price… And I’ll get full service. This was cafeteria style with a very limited menu. It was also kind of weird. I am all for fusion dining, but they seemed like they were trying REALLY hard to be chipotle. I wish I would have taken a picture of the bar because it was exactly the same set up. The biggest difference was that I leave chipotle full. Finally, and this is just my personal opinion: there should be fries and onion rings. They offer neither. Maybe with some starch I would have left not desiring another sandwich. I don’t think we’ll be back.

Upon entering were were greeted by the staff. The ladies explained the different meat options and we chose rice bowls. Both with dirty rice and beans. My mom had pulled chicken on hers and I had pulled pork on mine. We were offered toppings and then we chose our sides. I had cole slaw and Mom had mac ‘n cheese. One of the sweet employees carried our food to the table for us since my Mom was using her walker. I chose to try the sweet and the mango bbq sauces. I thoroughly enjoyed the mango. The food was good and the serving sizes were good. I wish the meat had more of a Smokey flavor but overall the meal was enjoyable. We will be going back to see what else is good. Hoping to try a dessert or two next time. ;-)

To be honest, the Stars speak for them selves. Walking into the restaurant, it fits the part well, almost beyond. The staff was slow, with no sense of urgency of an incoming line behind us. Especially, the girl checking us out, however it’s not her fault. It’s a lack of training on management’s part. After waiting about 15 – 20 minutes, I asked for a bag to take my food and leave. Once I started tasting the food, the portion was very small. Ironically even the Texas toast. I ate a brisket sandwich. Enjoying a little spice, but mostly greasy from the bread. The Mac and Cheese wasn’t originally distinguishable as such on site. When I started to taste it, weirdly enough the same result as the sandwich. It is questionable if I will return.
