First of all, you can find all sorts of interesting things on Craigslist… I came across a posting in gigs back in November that this research facility was looking for test subjects for a paid weight loss study… I thought, paid to lose weight? Sure! so I gave them a call… So what do they do here at RLI? It is a research facility run by Dr. James Rippe, MD that does various studies on how certain foods affect the bodies metabolism, weight, etc. When I spoke to someone about being interested, I was told I didn’t qualify for the weight loss study but they would keep me in mind for a metabolism study. Great! Plus it’s a paid study if you qualify and complete it. Yes! even better! The facility itself is a large area up in the office building with a small waiting area, computer, big screen tv, several conference rooms and smaller offices, blood lab, «bed rooms,» workout room and BMI scanner room. The minute I walked in I was greeted by a friendly front desk woman, Laura who helped me get started on paperwork and soon enough I was set up to speak to someone about the study that I would partake in. All the staff I have dealt with have been extremely friendly even with my having to reschedule the start date of my study several times. Right now I’m on my 24 hour lock-down…lol, observation really. I’ve been fed all 3 meals today and had blood drawn to be tested every ½ hour. I was a little nervous but it’s not that bad. I’ve gotten a lot done; watched 3 movies, wrote some letters, took a nap… It’s nice to have somewhere quiet to get some relaxing in since my life’s been so hectic. I can’t wait to get started on my 12 week commitment beginning tomorrow. Hey, it’s easy money… and with this economy, I’m sure we can all get a little something more if it’s being offered. These are ongoing studies so if you are interested, this is a pretty nice facility and it’s legit… check out their webpage for more information!
