One of the deciding factors of our vacation to Walt Disney World, and any vacation for that matter, is where you are going to stay. Sure we could have stayed at one of the resorts on property but with those running into the hundreds per night, we would have needed to reduce the length of our trip. The other option would be to stay at a Motel 6-type establishment but since those are hit/miss, your vacation could end up the same way. After doing a little searching, came across«Captain’s Retreat» at Terre Verde Resort and without question this made our entire trip. Located just a few miles away from Walt Disney World off of 192, you will be back at this amazing townhouse while guests who are staying on property are still waiting for their bus; I think the longest it took us was 17 minutes and averaged just over 10. Need a Starbucks? Groceries from Wal-Mart? Restaurants? These are all within 5 minutes from where you are staying. While 192 is packed and crowded with tourists, Captain’s Retreat is located in a quiet gate-guarded resort community just south of here. Swimming pool? Happy hour? Sand volleyball courts? Bar? Yes these are all here along with the quiet you’ll never find at a larger resort. We never heard another guest, their car or even the trash collection it was so quiet but don’t think you’ll be skimping on where you are staying. This three bedroom two-story townhouse has flat screen TVs, bunk beds for the kids, washer/dryer, jacuzzi on the patio and a full kitchen not to mention the most comfortable sofa ever. We figured we saved over $ 500 by eating breakfast here in the morning, bringing a backpack full of drinks/snacks to WDW every day and returning for an early dinner before heading back to the parks at night. It really is that close and gives you a chance to rest your feet and get your energy up for another few hours. Plus that savings gave us the chance to «splurge» on a few of the themed restaurants during the week without feeling it completely destroyed the budget. You deal directly with the owners Heather and Joey who reside in England and will go out of their way to help you. Heather answered every email within hours(still don’t know how she did this with the time difference) including the most mundane and complex of questions. She even gave us the tip for Kissimmee Guest Services which saved us on getting our passes. Without a doubt if you’re even considering a trip to Orlando, check out their website, send Heather an email and tell her I say«hi»!!
