Really like this place! Had a chance to go here while visiting our son and again when on our own for a night. The food is very good, the prices are reasonable, the service was great, and the waitstaff personable. Loved the option of sitting outside.

As a local, I would recommend this family owned business above any other Mexican restaurant in our town. Clean, quick and friendly staff, good food.

La Fuente is a standard Mexican restaurant located in Kirksville. In a city with few options, this is a solid one. Also, they don’t mess around with their portions. They have a friendly staff. Their margaritas are A-ok and they do have pitcher options for groups. It’s been too long since I dined here for a well-thought review, so I’ll wrap up.

Second time here. All of the food was excellent. So was the service. Friday night crowd, it was pretty full. The shrimp with bacon is awesome. Had that both times here. The margarita was ok, typical for Mexican place. But we always mix our own at home, so nothing compares.

Best mexican food in town, hands down. I either get the Fajita taco salad or the Quesadilla Mexicana and I’m never disappointed. They also have cheap margaritas, and you can’t turn them down! The chips and salsa are also outstanding. Servers are very on the ball and friendly. When its nice the patio is a nice touch! It would be nice if they were open a bit later, maybe 10 pm.

I love this place for lunch! The specials are great as well as the service but show up early or you might not get a seat.

Bean dip is just the beans they serve normally. No use ordering separate. Fajita double portion was HUGE. Enormous. Good, too.

This is American Mexican food at its worst. Our food appeared to be microwaved rather than cooked. The meal started with bland, watery salsa and then the steak fajitas came out dry with few vegetables. Server was welcoming and friendly, but could not overcome the poor quality of the food.

This place is pretty good. The food has potential, and the ingredients are good quality, but the flavors aren’t completely there. The salsa is pretty tasty, and the staff is friendly and courteous.

What’s great about Kirksville is that the competition for best Mexican food in town is actually pretty tough. La Fuente tops my list — love love love the fajita chicken quesadillas. The salsa is also top-notch. Over the years, the staff has always been wonderful — Mario, the manager, is a truly great guy. If you’re browsing Unilocal for restaurants in Kirksville, this is one of the better bets for lunch or dinner in town.

Good resturant, nice waiters. About $ 25-$ 30 for two to eat there. The shrimp they cook is great!

Kirksville has a high population of Mexican immigrants in the area. So we benefit with having 3 authentic Mexican restaurants in town. This place seemed to change chefs or management a lot when it opened, so the food wasn’t consistent visit to visit. But for the last couple of years it has been cracking out the most delicious mexican food around. I’ve sampled many different dishes there, probably all of them between eating a bite off a friend or family member’s plate and dishes I’ve ordered. The chicken is high quality white meat. The sauces are americanized enough to be yummy to a mild pallet but authentic enough to be tasty. Try a combo, or the taco salad, fajitas, or a quesadilla, a chimichanga, or Enchiladas Verdes. They also have prompt service, friendly staff and free chips and salsa. Best of all you can always eat a large meal, with a drink for under $ 10. If you want a more expensive dish, its more like $ 12. If you have a lighter pallet their a la carte menu is supurb. $ 2−4/item. You can eat for under $ 5 easily for lunch. In summers try eating outdoors on the Patio. With their large menu of delicious food, happy and quick staff, legal hiring practices(other local places have been closed down for hiring illegally) its quickly becoming a local favorite.

Best Mexican in Kirksville, which sadly isn’t saying much. Chile rellenos are nice. Don’t get the carnitas(they aren’t carnitas… they’re chili verde). It’s run by nice people, which is worth something.
