Got my hair done by Amber I showed her a picture and she recommended how she thought we should go about getting my hair to look like I wanted. She defiantly did a great job and my hair looks better than I thought it would because sometimes my hair can do crazy things. I don’t trust many people with my hair but I took a chance and I’m glad I did! Also she got me in right away which was great cause my hair was done in time for a wedding I was going to. If you want someone to listen to what you want and take the best care of your hair while getting there ask for her!

I moved to Portland from the Kirkland area almost 7 years ago. Whenever I come back up to visit I always make sure to treat myself to a hairstyle or Cut and make all my appointments with Amber! Not only does she make conversation with me, but She takes the time to listen to what you want and is so creative that she’ll even make my «I’m not sure» look Fabulous! I definitely recommend Amber!

It took me over a year since moving to Seattle to finally find someone that can cut my hair! Im very particular on how my hair is cut and Amber is great! She is very confident in what she is doing and I’m always happy with the outcome. I get my hair cut every 3 – 4 weeks and have been coming for a few months now. Great customer service and nice salon. Highly recommend Amber :)

Great experience! I just needed a trim for long hair with long layers. Crystal cut my hair and she did a fabulous job! Exactly what I wanted.

I don’t know what happened to this place. There used to be nice people here who gave nice haircuts but not any more. About 2 months ago I went in and the stylist was extremely rude. I figured it was a one off, so I went in again yesterday and now I have a haircut that I hate so much that I’m crying. I told the stylist multiple times that she should keep my hair long enough so that it reaches my shoulders. Well she decided that was fine for the back but cut it in the front so short that it doesn’t even reach my chin. I look like I have Hillary Clinton’s hair on top of my regular hair now. I am so sad and frustrated that I have no choice but to just wait for it to grow back. I shall not return.

Wow, what a bunch of unhappy stylists. They cut my hair like it’s a chore, I asked to have more volume, and it was just a straight cut with no volume at all. When I go pay for my cut, the woman rolled her eyes when I said I will be paying by credit card. There is a reason why it was cheap.
They openly said racist things about the people outside parking their cars. Hello, I’m right here…
If you’re unhappy with the work, please quit or suck it up and put on a smile, and you should probably watch what you say to your customers who is paying.
Even if it’s close to home, I will gladly pay a little more for someone who will actually do what I asked for and make me feel wanted at a business.

Satisfied with husbands cut

I went to get my hair cut just before my birthday and was really nervous because I don’t get my hair cut often but Christy was amazing! She was very friendly and helpful and she was not only able to cut out all my damaged hair (from previous not-​so-​good dye jobs) but she also gave me a super cute layered haircut! She took in to consideration that I don’t spend a lot of time on my hair in the morning and for the first time in YEARS I can actually wear my hair down again!
Christy was very pleasant and we had a great conversation the whole time. Nothing forced, just casual and comfortable. All for only $ 18 — what?!
I highly recommend seeing Christy at this hair masters because she is the best!

I’ve entrusted Leah Stang with my locks for 5+ years! Several years of upscale salon experience and an amazing sense of aesthetic and style under her belt makes her one of the finest hair artists in her craft. She’s especially amazing at edgy/​current styles, special events and has coloring down to a science. Hair well-​being/​health is also a major priority with Leah, so you can have peace of mind about the quality of her work.

Verni is the only one I trust my eyebrows to. I stopped going to this Hairmasters when I was 13 for haircuts. My parents had been taking me here for years and years because we knew one of the master stylists personally. I just felt like I’d grown out of the styles she’d give me. So now I try out other salons in Kirkland, but ALWAYS come here for my brows. Verni does the best job! Always squeezes me in even on a busy day and is so gentle! I had one other lady once and my skin was burnt and puffy for three days. Verni makes sure the wax isn’t too hot and she keeps the conversation going and doesn’t comment when my eyes water. Lol

I tried to use them by walking-​in a couple of months ago and they turned me down that time: «we’re all booked» — the place seemed empty, no customers there. This time, I called them in advance and made an appointment. I arrived 10 minutes late (traffic) just to find that they already gave my time slot to the next client, who was originally scheduled 30 minutes after me, but who showed up early. So, to have my haircut I would need to wait there another 30 – 60 minutes. They didn’t bother to call me to ask if I’m going to make it on time, and if it’s OK to put the next customer ahead of me.

I try to be professional and fair in my reviews but every time I look in the mirror I get upset all over again. I used to go to a lady here named Heidi who was excellent, but just recently moved back and she wasn’t working the day I needed my hair done. I instead had a Hispanic lady with dyed blonde hair. I was getting my hair highlighted. She didn’t even get close to my roots, in fact, I am pretty sure the new highlights had more roots than my month old ones. That was disappointing enough but what really irked me was that she seemed to have no clue how to treat hair. She ripped through my wet hair with a brush so aggressively that it looked like I got a hair cut even though I didn’t. There were little broken hairs everywhere. My hair is now super frizzy since there are little short hairs everywhere and I still have roots. I want my $ 100 and 2 hours of time back.

My husband had a great experience here a few years ago, so when he was ready to cut off his long hair he wanted to go here.
I made the appointment earlier in the day for a cut and color. We got there early and my husband wasn’t sure what he wanted so left it in the «professional’s» hands. zOMG.
He is so very UNHAPPY with his haircut. The stylist, a woman with platinum blonde hair, said she had only scheduled him for a cut not a color and had someone else coming in. Instead of saying, «Hey, I don’t have time» She went for the extra buck and rushed through my husband’s haircut (super uneven and WAY to short) THEN she handed him off to another stylist to color his hair while she rushed through her other customer’s haircut. The other haircut was done so fast that he said, «Wow, that was quick.»
Meanwhile, the new stylist my husband was handed off to made comments like, «did she rush through this?» … seriously? On top of that, the original stylist left and left my husband with the second stylist.
Anyhow, we are never returning here and hope you save your money and your pride by going to a real salon.

Terrible service! Terrible cutting by 80% of the stylists. If you’re lucky you may get a good one, but it’s a toss up. I’ve gone here 5 times in the last 5 years. Same result every time.

Simply awful customer service. With half the staff standing around, and the woman calling my name berating me, I am not sure what school of «customer first» they went to, not the same as me. Should you opt for a cheap haircut, look elsewhere.

Quality of the hair cut depends on the stylist. I haven’t gotten a truly great hair cut but then again I haven’t had that bad of a hair cut either.

NON-​EXISTANT CUSTOMER SERVICE…
I didn’t actually get a haircut here. But I was on the O P I website and it listed this location as a retailer which sells a product that I was looking for. So I called to ask if they had it. The girl who answered the phone was rude, and acted as if it was a hassle to walk 5 steps and check the shelf. When she came back to the phone and told me they had it… I asked how much it was. She didn’t say anything, just slams the phone on the desk while she went back to check. I asked of they could hold one for me, since I was intending on having someone else pick it up and they probably wouldn’t know what I wanted. Well, needless to say I ended up going in myself. I told the girl at the counter that I had called yesterday and they were supposed to be holding something. She asked me my name and was looking through the appointment book saying she didn’t see my name anywhere. Duh… I already told you that I called. Why would you think I would be in the appointment book? Finally another woman came up and rudely asked if she could help me. I explained the situation to her, and she immediately picked the product up off the counter. Then she has the nerve to say «I don’t know why you bothered to have it put on hold… there are only 10 of them on the shelf.» What kind of customer service is this? I decided to leave at this point without purchasing the product. I would rather pay more for it somewhere else where I can get some decent customer service. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

I’ve only been once – enough to know that I don’t care to go again. Whoever I had wasn’t hardly personable. I can’t say she did a bad job, but she did a «meh» job. I wasn’t happy, but I wasn’t pissed. She kept stopping in the middle of cutting my hair to answer questions or take care of something at the counter – very annoying. I understand that needs to be done once, maybe twice, but hello – somebody w/​out a body in the chair should take care of that. I don’t plan on going back, although to give you a more objective view, my husband likes going there (but he really isn’t the least bit picky). The lady that does his hair, different from who I had, does a pretty good job, but she isn’t really consistent w/​his hair. His bangs are usually a bit more crooked than they should be, and she almost always forgets his cow lick… but again, I’m sure he’d give this place 3 stars.
Not me. I’m tempted to only give 1. C’mon, hairstylists – be creative, be personable, be reasonably priced.

So my boyfriend seriously needed a haircut. Unfortunately, our budget was a little tight to afford going to a decent barber. We ended up going to HairMasters. His haircut turned out terrible. It was so unevenly cut, we ended up having to go buy a hat for him to wear till his hair grows out. The lady there did a piss poor job at making sure his neck was shaved completely. I seriously will never consider this place again. I noticed that there were two marines getting their hair fixed by another lady. This is because the lady who had cut my boyfriend’s hair had cut their hair.
