The first time I’ve ever felt compelled to write a Unilocal review… you can’t put Zero stars? Damn… Do yourself a favor and save yourself the frustration of even speaking to the proprietor of this«business». You don’t have to believe me-call yourself! I reached out regarding a wedding cake and spoke to Kathy, the rudest person I have EVER in my 32 years of life, spoken to. I asked her if we would be able to set up an appointment or if I can email her a photo to show her something«like» what I was looking for. She said not to send the email she doesn’t make other people’s cakes(I just wanted to give her an idea), she then asked me what my budget was and when she was told I didn’t have one she told me… word for word«what you need to do is go to the store and get one of those bridal magazines & at the back you will find a sheet for a wedding budget»(1st of all I know what a budget is 2nd of all-don’t talk to me like I’m a child) I said«I seriously don’t have a budget for my cake-if you can make the cake that I want Im seriously willing to pay whatever». She got all huffy and said this is Northeast PA and people say that all the time but then problems occur… she then stated«if you don’t believe me go on Unilocal and read Jason L’s review» huh? I don’t care about Jason L. But you gave me a good idea to come on and give me first ever Unilocal review! Ohhhhhhh this went on… the lady reeked of cockiness and arrogance & Only made Me feel smaller as the conversation went on. She never asked«why don’t you come in and look at some things I’ve done», «are you looking for a tiered round cake?», «tiered square cake?», «how many are you looking for this to feed?». She asked where the cake was going! When I explained it is going to McAdoo, her response, «well you do realize that is going to cost you right???»(Of course I did). Thanks Kathy, I just thought you were going to actually give me some worthwhile info or at least ask some worthwhile questions as opposed to just talking money, money, money. I’ve met Kathy at bridal shows and she was so rude I didn’t even want to call but there’s no where else in the valley to go… her cakes are so-so, her fondant tastes horrible, but everyone goes to her because she can make«cake boss» type cakes… well we don’t have to «settle» for Kathy’s arrogance and subpar baking anymore. I went for a consult at PamKakes in Tamaqua… OMG night and day difference. We sat down for a tasting after my first phone call(no questions asked-just come up and let’s talk!!). The cake was amazing. the buttercream-not gritty, not overly sweet, and her fondant was edible and actually amazing. I told her what I was looking for and showed her pictures… she drew me out 3 different pictures and options that would feed my 135 guests. I immediately put my down payment for my 4 tier gorgeous wedding cake… this woman Aimee at Pamkakes can do anything! I even am ordering beautiful cupcakes with Anenome flower toppings(I had a picture for these as well) for my shower and may even order my wedding favors-navy blue gold dusted macaroons from her as well(another item I had a picture of). I only intended to get my cake-but this bakery, the prices, and the personality of this woman blew my mind. Btw-Aimee’s delivery charges are pretty much NOTHING, so until she makes it down here, do yourself a favor and give her a call! Kathy…you need to stay far away from the phone and the front counter of your business if you think it’s going to last! No one will put up with your arrogance… I made sure to tell Pamkakes how desperately we need them down in the Valley because there is NOWHERE to order from!

As stated prior in the review by Jason L. the«president» and individual in charge of the human relations for this business is very rude. There is no productive assistance from this person, ultimatly I decided to use a different bakery in the area so i cannot remark on the quality of the product but just the quality of the staff and that alone. I moved to this area a short time ago and had not established a «go to» shop for a service like this. Having a small son and a wedding planned for the near future. This place will absolutely not be it.

The most amazing and creative cakes. Have used them for multiple occasions, personal and for business, and each confection has been exquisite! I can not recommend the Irish Car Bomb cake enough! Absolutely delicious! Thank you for everything! Will definitely use again and again!

Before you do anything with this business, please make sure to read the Unilocal«not recommended» reviews here: The self-proclaimed ‘President’ of Truly Scrumptious needs to add a front of house or day-to-day manager to deal with ‘commoners.’ She has absolutely no personality or people skills, which makes it incredibly frustrating to productively work with her in any capacity. If you have an unlimited cake budget and all the time in the world to meet multiple times on her schedule to discuss designs, flavors, etc, by all means, go for Truly Scrumptious. Otherwise? Find one of the dozens of local cake places where your business is appreciated and valued and pass on the ‘better than you’ attitude conveyed here. It’s sad that a small business such as this is doomed to fail because of the attitude and arrogance of the ‘President.’ I suppose the one star here is earned for the owner’s perceived reputation? She’s certainly not doing herself any favors on obtaining the other four stars.

I happened to be passing this place one warm spring day and thought id stop in for some cupcakes. It happened to be my girlfriends birthday and she loves cupcakes. Score! Right? Looked nice and charming from the outside. I walked in and noticed Its a nice little place, in addition to all the tables being empty. In hindsight, this would prove to be somewhat of a premonition. As I was standing at the counter looking at the neatly displayed cupcakes a woman walked out of the back bakery, from where I’d always assumed is a magical land of cupcakes, rainbows, and unicorns and stood at the counter. When I say she stood there, I really mean it. No greeting, smile or hint of engagement. So, I said Hello. It was kind of awkward, but I’d be darned if I let that detract from my goal of getting my girlfriend her birthday cupcakes! Cant win ‘em all, right? After that pleasant initial interaction, I asked for 3 different cupcakes which were neatly displayed in the case. The woman then proceeded to unenthusiastically box them for me. No emotion, certainly no unicorns or magic. While she was carefully boxing my cupcakes, I had attempted again to make some small talk and noted that I wasnt aware they had a small snack menu and a place to dine. Her response was an overwhelming, monotonic«Yea.» Ok, now its just REALLY awkward. I gave up. Finally, it came time to pay. After the woman mumbled my total, I handed her my card which she swiped and handed back without even saying«Thank You.» She asked if I wanted a receipt, I said«No, thank you.» She proceeded to hand me a receipt. This moment was the proverbial icing on the cake(pun!). A perfect example of the whole experience. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and think maybe she just found out that she WONT save money by switching her car insurance, and subsequently wasnt in the best mood. Hey, it happens to the best of us. That being said, in an era where we’re constantly bombarded with mega retailers and grocery store bakeries, I think maintaining a modicum of charm is standard for a local bakery. I will never again support this business. Go to Bakery Delite instead, I will never again go anyplace else for baked goods in the kingston/wb area!

Very good coffee and great cupcakes. I am not a big cupcake fan, but these are delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness. Enjoy the décor and space. Only complaint I have is that the last time I was there, the young lady behind the counter was not the most attentive. Prior to that, however, I have had great experiences here.

Finally, coffee other than Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks in this neck of the woods. Great little café to get a coffee or espresso and a yummy baked treat. Plenty of space to linger in the café and just relax… with very nice staff… finally a unique coffee shop(and bakery!) to spend some time at. Highly recommend!

This place is so delicious! I go here weekly for my cupcake fix. It’s this hidden gem on Wyoming Ave that noone seems to know about. I am hoping by writing this review that more people will check them out because they have great to go desserts and coffee/espresso and they even take credit cards. Their hours seem to always be changing… probably to find their target market… so please give this place a chance. It’s the only good cupcake we’ve got here in NEPA! :)
