Atmosphere: small, kinda dark, casual Food: cheap but just ok Drinks: Tasty(but strong!) pomegranate margaritas Came here on a Wednesday evening and were seated right away. Got two pomegranate margaritas with their Wednesday BOGO margarita special. Best margarita in my admittedly limited experience in margarita tasting. We ordered a chimichanga with filled barbacoa and Mexican tacos filled with roast veg and beans. The barbacoa was way too fatty, however. In the tacos, the beans were somehow omitted… leaving three tortillas filled with a sad concoction of mushrooms and spinach. I should have sent them back but I was very hungry and tipsy, and figured I could forego beans in order to get food in my stomach more quickly. Quick and casual but not great food. Would not return.

Excellent food good service stopped in town after a day on the river. We had nachos and a beef and plantain dish that I can’t remember the name of but was very good.

Love love love it here! Shrimp quesadillas are simply scrumptious and their pomegranate margaritas are addicting!!! The only downer is they don’t give any chips and salsa to snack on while waiting for your entrée. you have to buy it as an appetizer. And the cost isn’t cheap! If they rethought the chips and salsa, I’d give this place 5 stars!

Great place for Margherita on the rocks and chicken tacos– Which is a great way to spend an evening on the rondout. Take out is OK.

Black bean soup and cervicke app was fantastic. Entrees were forgettable. I will not, however, forget my waitress who took a cig break in the middle of my meal in full view of the restaurant. Gross. This place used to have great orginal drinks like electris lemonade but now they have nothing. My advice is to just get apps. Dont get apps and certainly dont order the australian pinot grigio

I really enjoyed the Shrimp tacos and their guacamole and pico de gallo was delicious. The Corq-rita was a fun drink and our waitress this night was very attentive and sweet. Only thing I didn’t love was the rice. Kind of tasted like rice a roni.

Mole Mole gets better each visit. The food is authentic and delicious. I had the shrimp cocktail and a carnitas burrito last night both were great. The shrimp cocktail was amazing. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sauce – wow – spicy with chunks of avocado – yum!

I have always had good food at Mole Mole. However I am always concerned about the service. They always seem to have one person working the front of the house doing everything. Somehow they pull it off without being dreadfully slow, just a little slow. Which is excusable since they are alone. I think if they could improve their service they could move up a star.

I want to like this restaurant, I really do. Unfortunately, after 3 dining experiences, I have yet to leave satisfied… or full. I am a vegetarian and typically ethnic, specifically Mexican, is where I get a huge variety of delicious food options and not just the token vegetarian dish. At «Mole, Mole,» however, vegetarian consists of about 90 percent hot spinach and 10 percent mushrooms… in Every. Single. Dish. There is no variety, and frankly, it doesn’t taste great at all. Spinach doesn’t have much flavor on its own and having it carry all of your vegetarian dishes is a lot to ask. Others that I go with seem to enjoy their food, but until they change their formulas, I unfortunately will not be back.

Out looking for Mexican fare and stumbled across this hidden gem. Wanted to dine down by the river so a friend and I took a motorcycle ride and happened across Mole Pier 23 as they call it. I would have given it 5 stars except for the service at the bar, which could have been better(at least a smiling face). The regular bar tender(a shorter blond haired girl with glasses who didn’t give her name) looked annoyed at having to even be there.(ticket says my server was Ashley, although there was another taller blond haired girl who was new assisting who was trying very hard to be attentive and happy) Let’s get to the good part— the food! I was very pleased to be able to get a margarita now that they serve alcohol! And Patron to boot! They unfortunately charge you for nachos and pico which are complimentary at every other Mexican restaurant! For appetizers I Ordered the Mole nachos and my friend ordered the calamari. Both were very generous sizes ! And very good. Calamari was fresh. I then ordered the vegetarian burrito and my friend ordered the burrito grande. Wow. So much food I couldn’t even touch my burrito. We both ended up packing food home. So 2 top shelf margaritas, 2 beers, nachos with pico, 2 full size appetizers and 2 dinners and coffee. $ 82 ! I find that to be a great deal. They even charged my near dead cell phone behind the bar or I would have included pictures!

My rating here is 3 ½ stars for outrageously delicious Mexi food. And I’m still noshing the next day. Great bang for your buck and huge portions. Friendly service and refills on tea :) Tasty portions of fresh guac and pico de gallo. Very tasty ceviche and type of cheesey(sic) tamale I had never tasted before. No liquor license as of yet and I’m sure that hurts them. BUT this place would be packed in Manhattan or Brooklyn on any Saturday nite — license or not. Will give them a little more time to organize their space, clean it up a bit and then shine. Their ambiance is somewhere between neighborhood cubby hole and storage room.(All they need to do is re-think and organize the mish-mash of chairs and tables strewn absently about.) Stroll down to the riverfront when you’re finished! Def worth a try if you are in Kingston!

Every time I have been here the food has been dynamic. I’ve made a point to try something new each time. The service in the opening shift is prompt and polite. I would have given 5 stars, except I am disturbed by the antique poop chair/cammode that greets you at the door. I really don’t want to think about or look at a «Potty» when I’m trying to eat delicious foods.

New ownership(as of when, I don’t know), so I’m going to give the place another chance. I don’t factor that into my tepid rating here. The food is «ok». To me, it’s never been great Mexican food, just average regardless of owner. No liquor license, a mild bummer but cokes sufficed. Only one fast-moving waitress(on Cinco de Mayo, no less), whose intentions were good against impossible odds posed by a full room. She gets an A for bearing up under the strain in a pleasant way. The noise level is a bit too high. Background music: hold it down a notch, ok? My wife and I had trouble conversing across our booth. It may be wise to delete all the old reviews, as the new owner should neither suffer from dated, unfavorable talk nor wax exultant over the raves. We like dining in the Rondout area of Downtown Kingston and will likely give Mole Mole another chance. It’s a comfortable and attractive place that we’d like to see succeed.

We went in here but were a bit scared off by the locals. Slumped down in their seats dressed for the Indy 500… We skipped out as it really looked like we stopped in moments before the kick off of a zombie apocalypse. Maybe it was a rougher day in Kingston… we were definitely put off. Food looked ok tho. We did learn they DONOTHAVE an liq lic and have recently changed owners… but are keeping their name. I hate when places do this it reeks of unanswered questions. Pro tip: if your patrons make the place look like there may be a gas leak throw on some jams, move some tables and make sure incoming patrons are not terrified by the hardly dining undead. Woof

After reading some of the recent reviews we were not quite as anxious to try mole mole as we had been. We went in anyhow. Negative reviews no longer apply. It was great. We started off with the special mole sauce nachos… awesome, we inhaled them. Three excellent tacos and a Torta. Couldn’t have been better. Now to a little rant. What they need to do is offer combination plates. Instead of a plate of all tacos or all enchiladas, etc, have a choice of 2 or 3 different items on one plate with rice and beans. This offering is standard in all west coast Mexican restaurants and is almost nonexistent in NY Mexican restaurants. I suggested this to the waitress, who is the sister of the owner, and she was quite enthusiastic about it. She said she was going discuss it with her brother. Also note that Mole Mole is now open at 10 am for the lunch trade. A big plus for us because that is usually when we are in Kingston.

They now close for the season during the winter. Have had great food here in previous years but I guess no more pre/post ski dinners.

Just left the restaurant after a terrible incident. Really bummed! 5 bugs found at the bottom of my wine glass after drinking the wine. So disgusted. The waitress offered to take off the glass of wine from our bill but didn’t ! We are now calling the restaurant to cancel transaction as we feel this is just terrible service all the way around. Honestly I could write more about the food and ambiance but it just doesn’t matter when something like this happens.

Best Mexican cuisine north on NYC! Without question! Everything is spectacular here, especially the mole chicken chimichanga! Their veggie tacos and chipotle tortilla soup is worth checking out as well. A great place for dinner and drinks in downtown Kingston.

I hail from Phoenix, so I found it ironic that I ended up eating at a Mexican restaurant in Kingston, NY. We were out and about in the town looking for a late bite to eat and dessert. It was about 9pm so there were limited options still open. After reading some menus we decided on Molè Molè. We were the only customers in the place but the server was very nice ad they greeted us warmly. I had the plantains and ice cream, my So had chicken fajitas. Both were yummy. It’s hard to beat really good Mexican food from the southwest, but the chicken fajitas were pretty good! They came with wrapped tortillas, all the fixings, and a good scoop of guaq and sour cream. And the plantains were perfect, and already sweet enough you didn’t really need the ice cream. I was really happy with them. For it being so late(pretty much closing) I was happy that we were treated nicely and that the food was yummy. I would go back for the plantains. So for Mexican in New York — 4⁄5.

Beautiful ambience feels like Mexico. The food was excellent. I had black bean soup to start. My grandmother made the best black bean soup ever, this was close. It seemed like everything was house made and well done. One benchmark of a good restaurant is making rice, and theirs was very good, made from scratch(not par-boiled). I also has the Chorizo Tortas. Two thumbs up on that. I would come back just have it again. Mrs. had the tacos, also good. The food all had an authentic Mexican spice profile. The negative, the beans were slightly under seasoned. Food came out fast. The waiter was nervous(like first day) but he did fine. Front of the house manager made sure everything ran smoothly.
