Kings Park Bluff

I was driving around kings park, and thought I would check this place out as I am always looking for adventure. The directions were off so i decided to continue down to the water past an old crumbling hospital only to end up by the water at this boat ramp with this amazing view. I decided to go up to the upper park lot where there were trails and a sign saying bluffs so I assumed I arrived… and it was well worth it. I climbed up these bluffs and was rewarded with the views I illustrated in my pics.

Great view. Very peaceful, sit and watch the boats go by.

When I am strolllllling down memory lane, there is one special place to go when on Long Island — the Kings Park Bluff…
If you have a boat — well good for you — it’s a great place for take off and explore the sound; saunter up to the Port Jefferson docks. I prefer driving to the top and hiking along the cliff or down along the rocky beach.
The bluff was notorious for revvving up the car and playing frisbee… although there are still moments of this in the summertime wind… it is just a nice place to watch the water, skip a couple of rocks, and day dream…
