This was my first Philly Cheesesteak in PHL, so I can’t really say I’ve had better but only assume I could. A couple of cons to start off with, this location is in the King of Prussia Mall, I believe that inherently has some drawbacks including issues with space, noise, and staff hired to run such a place. Additionally when i ordered my Traditional hoagie, I was asked if I wanted Mayo and/or Ketchup on my sandwich… I found that to be quite odd. As for the food itself, it was quite good, mainly because the roll seemed to be freshly baked. I ordered the smaller sized sandwich and with fries, it was more than enough food. If I’m ever in PHL again, I’ll want to try a standalone Tony Luke’s and probably Geno’s and Pat’s also.

ho hum, another chain restaurant. kids working here don’t care, food just ‘ok’, and mix on fountain dispenses basically lightly flavored carbonated water. $ 18 for one? no thanks, not again. agree with prev poster, alex– I taste roll and cheese, little flavor of steak. plus this mini cardboard cutout of T Jr. is creepy.

Was over at the mall and was looking for a good cheesesteak without going jnto the city. and this place is a great alternative without compromising on the whole ‘philly cheesesteak’ Experience. Tastes great and priced well

The ordering process is cold and impersonal to the point of subtracting a star(can you smile? can you act like the customer matters?), but the steak that comes out is super. It’s near the top of my best 10 sandwich list because of: 1.) a perfect roll — it has body, but yields to the bite. It’s the antithesis of the amoroso fluff 2.) the meat — flavorful, cooked to order(do you hear me, Dalessandro’s?), and not chopped to confetti 3.) the onions — perfect shape(diced), quantity(lots) and doneness(al dente). I recommend the hot cherry peppers and wiz as the sweet complement.

Forgot to put cheese on a chicken cheesesteak and then to fix it just through in a piece of cheese and let it melt a bit. Little rude about it. There was also very little meat in the sandwich. It didn’t even taste good. Definitely not number one on any aspect.

The original location is good, with very long lines. But this one needs a visit from Tony. Bread is subpar, steamed and not crusty. Meat is… lower grade than I remember. Expansion has hurt them.

Who voted this place the best cheesesteak? People who believe hype and have no taste buds, that’s who. I just finished one with provolone and all I tasted was the bread and the cheese. The meat had zero taste. Steve’ Prince of steaks is still the best cheesesteak sandwich.

«Out of» chicken cutlet two nights in a row. 8pm tonight; more like 8:30 last night. Not acceptable for such a core product … for which I made a special trip to the Mall and which I previously spoke highly of on Unilocal. What earlier time IS cutlet available? I won’t be coming back to find out. Let’s see if Chick-Fil-A still has chicken left or if Five Guys still had burgers left or Chipotle …

Speed review: Decent Philly Cheesesteak. You can pick your type of cheese — american, provolone(my pick), or revolting Cheese Whiz(yeah, I know…it’s a Philly thing). Sam’ich had plenty of cheese, not quite enough meat, and decent bread. Fries were crunchy but very ordinary. For mall food it’s good. Otherwise, you can do better.

I had high expectations of this place, even though it’s a mall food court location. This guys cheese steaks have been documented as some of the best in Philadelphia. Well, this location was terrible. The cheesesteak was dripping in grease and the bread was falling apart by the time I opened it up at my table. I returned it for a refund.

What a disappointment. There was not enough meat and what little it had had it hNO flavor., The roll was not fresh or tasty.

Mall food court location for a Philadelphia institution. The cheese steaks are about as good as it gets, though.

My last review here a year ago gave them kudos on a chicken steak. They were well deserved kudos at the time. I gave them a chance today on a chicken cutlet with rabe and provolone. And now I remember why I’m so against Tony’s mall stands. The sandwich was thoroughly uninspiring. They told me it was sharp provolone but nothing was sharp about it. The cutlet had a rubbery chewy feel to it, and a pretty bland taste. The roll was the only redeeming part. It wasn’t terrible, but nowhere near as good as what they put out in South Philly, and most definitely not worth a $ 10 outlay. I expect this quality from Subway, not from Tony Luke. Maybe it was a bad day. But when you’re charging $ 10 a sandwich, you’re not allowed to have bad days.

The employees here were super friendly. But this place is really just kinda overrated. The meat is very bland and thin. The roll is where this place rocks it, if you ask me. It is just perfectly crisp and right for this application.

I went to Tony Luke’s in King of Prussia with my girlfriend and her cousin who was here from out of town and wanted to try a Philadelphia cheesesteak. As I know Tony Luke’s is a well known cheesesteak restaurant in Philadelphia, I decided to go to the one in King of Prussia since it was closer and would waste less time in driving. The cheesesteaks here were as decent as the original Tony Luke’s cheesesteaks. I went ahead and ordered mine with bacon and wiz which was a good combination on this sandwich. We all enjoyed our cheesesteaks and finished each of them. I actually brought one home for a late night snack but it wasn’t as good reheated so that didn’t go as planned, but the cheesesteak eaten right off the grill was pretty good. I wouldn’t say it is my favorite cheesesteak in Philadelphia but it can definitely fit somewhere in the top five or ten spots. Overall, Tony Luke’s in King of Prussia, PA provides decent cheesesteak sandwiches and is worth a visit if you are interested in having one.

Well I haven’t yet been to the original Tony Luke’s, just this location at the mall. What a delicious and pleasant surprise! I had rather low expectations of the food because I was eating at a mall food court. But it was very tasty. Now I haven’t lived in Philly that long, and I am by no means a cheesesteak connoisseur, but the steaks here are very tasty. Probably the best I’ve had. I am partial to the cheesteak hoagie and bread was nice and toasted, the meat tasted really good as did the cheese. The veggies were fresh, plentiful and delicious. Also ordered a side of fries that were tasty too. Cooked right, seasoned well, nice thicker cut fry. I imagine the non-mall location(s) would be tastier and now that I liked this one so much, I’m going to check out that too.

If you rate regular Tony Luke’s steaks as a 5, this would be a 4. Still very good but not the same as the original. More in line with what you’d get at the ballpark. The bread was really fresh though and that is a huge plus. If you haven’t had a Tony Luke’s steak ever, it could be hit or miss with you. It’s not intended to be a Pat’s or Gino’s steak and you may be disappointed if that’s what you expect going into it.

Meh. I’d never been to Tony Luke’s and having gone for the first time at the mall, I’d probably say that I won’t be back. I had a traditional cheesesteak and not only was it overpriced, but it wasn’t great. Steak wasn’t chopped and it was pretty thin considering the price(9 dollars). No competition for Ishkabibbles, Larry’s or Max’s.

For a cheesesteak in the mall food court it’s pretty damn good! I was expecting a heavy greasy mess but was pleasantly surprised. The roll was soft, meat was chopped and tender, cheese perfectly melted. The girls at the counter definitely have their heads in the clouds but they’re friendly so most times I don’t mind repeating my order.

Tony Luke’s is one of my favorite cheesesteak places and I was really happy to see that one opened up in the King of Prussia mall food court. Although they are famous for their cheesesteaks, my favorite thing to order is roast pork with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe. I ordered one this weekend and wondered if it would be as good as the south Philly location. Well it was delicious. It did not disappoint at all. The mall was busy but the line at Tony Luke’s was short. My order came out relatively quick too. My wife ordered a cheesesteak hoagie which I tasted and it was also good. One cool thing I noticed is that they offer a six inch version of their sandwiches too. I like that cause it makes it easier to justify passing up healthier options in the food court.
