Teavana

Wow… reviews on this place are not good. I admit that I was on a mission when coming here, which is what one reviewer said to do, so maybe that’s why my experience was better than others have experienced. I was here to simply pick up a Christmas gift and knew exactly what I wanted. As soon as I stepped food in the store, a young lady asked if she could help me. I told her what I was after, and she quickly picked them up for me. She even put one back and got a different one when she realized the box wasn’t in the best of shapes. Of course, she tried to sell me tea, but I wasn’t there for that. They offered complimentary gift wrap and was in and out of there pretty quickly.

If you are in the market for a particular tea, the selection at Teavana is sure to have it. If you don’t know what you want, can’t be extremely specific with the staff, or just want to «shop tea», your Teavana experience is most likely not going to be a good one.
1^st, the staff just doesn’t seem to know how to leave people be while they look around. I’ve been here on multiple occasions and its a trait they seem to train into their staff! 2^nd, when we asked for a little bit of a certain tea, the staff decided to give me well over the minimum! 3^rd, outside giving you a smell of the tea options, the staff doesn’t appear knowledge in their product.
So why do I go there, for their selection. Sorry, if I manage to find what I want elsewhere, I will not be returning.

I have never written an online review in my life, but I was so shocked by the deceptive practices at Teavana, that I felt compelled to add my two cents. The sales people at Teavana are perfectly nice, and I’m sure that they are being pressured by corporate into the things that they do. However, there really is no excuse for lying to a customer to get them to buy more than they need. I happen to know a fair amount about tea, and I went into Teavana looking for something specific as a gift. The young man who helped me insisted that the ONLY way for me to buy tea there was for me to completely fill a tin (the tin itself costs extra). I specifically asked if there was a smaller amount of tea I could buy, or a cheaper container. He looked me in the eye, and said no, which, it turns out, is simply not true. I will be marching back in there today and will never, ever go back again. Too bad, because the tea itself is lovely.

The best way to have a great shopping experience here is to go in with a mission. Decide what you want to buy, ask direct questions and do not allow the pushy sales people to get you off course. The teas are quality, but the prices are super inflated. good luck!
