Can’t say enough good things about this place. Great wine list, outstanding food, attentive and friendly service, and great ambiance. A jewel in Chester County that is on par with any of the fine dining restaurants in Philly. Had the duck which was tremendous and cooked perfectly!

One of the best meals we have ever had! The lobster bisque was amazing, the filet was flavorful and perfectly cooked and dessert was the perfect end to our meal. The cocktails were good and strong too. I can’t wait to go back!

Been there numerous times however went there last week and biggest problem was a table of 7 with 6 ordering the filet. First problem steak was cold! Secondly they asked how to prepare and Everyone ordered different degrees of doneness Not sure why because every steak came rare to med rare. Is there any health concerns about bringing plated food to 2nd floor uncovered. Could be why steaks were cold. Also wondering if they pass ADA with all the stairs at front and then to 2nd floor. Not great for knee replacement. Will definitely go elsewhere

We visited the Kimberton Inn this past Saturday. We arrived early for our reservation and spent some time at the bar enjoying the live music. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. It did take about 10 – 15 minutes before we were greeted by our server. She apologized for the delay. At that point I learned that half of the specials that were advertised on the menu were sold out, at 8pm on a Saturday night. I was torn between the seabass and swordfish, but both were sold out. Appetizers arrived. They were good, but very small portions, especially the risotto. I ended up getting lobster tail over pasta which was ok. My husband’s ribeye that was supposed to be medium rare was more on the medium to medium well side. It also contained a considerable amount of fat. The staff was very diligent to keep the tables well cleared and the water refilled. The ambiance was very nice and elegant, but left more to be desired. At this price point, we will likely not return.

Portions for brunch run a little on the small side but it’s made up for by the delicious & complimentary biscuits and sticky buns. Food quality and taste are excellent. Orange juice is fresh, libations are great. Lobster bisque & crab cake are amazing! Will be going again!

Beautiful, elegant country inn. The menu was unique with many traditional dishes. Delicious! The service was a bit hurried and distracted. Would definitely go back for the food!

I really loved this historic old place. Went by myself while on a business trip. Had a lovely glass of wine, a malbec. The bread was warm and yummy. Had the«best salad you’ll ever had» and it was very good, unique for sure, loved the match stick apples. For dinner had a crab cake and subbed mashed potatoes — only ‘complaint’ is the serving size of my potatoes was laughable. I would venture to guess it was less than ¼ cup but I wasn’t going hungry for sure. The crab cake was so yummy. For dessert had the pecan pie. It was disappointing, very flat in flavor and the crust was not flaky at all. Even with the sub-par dessert it still totally deserves 4 stars.

My wife and I went there on a Tuesday for a birthday dinner. It was wonderful and romantic. The food was excellent — the cauliflower soup special was great, and the sirloin scallopini appetizer(also available as a dinner size) was yummy. For our entrees, we had a cobia and shrimp special, and their filet mignon. The fish was good, for sure, but the filet was the best one I’ve ever had. Desert was great too — a wide selection including 4 specials; my wife loved the handmade Belgian chocolate ice cream, and I loved the blueberry crisp with vanilla ice cream. The service was very good and helpful — a few moments where the server was elsewhere in the Inn(it was a slow night, but the upside was we had most of a beautiful room to ourselves). Nice music, not loud, which added to the ambiance. We’re definitely going back soon.

A group of 9 of us dined at the Kimberton Inn this past Sunday for brunch. Initially, I was a little concerned after they fumbled our reservation date/time(after receiving a call that morning inquiring where we were). Jeff, who turned out to be the owner and a fantastic host, was the one to call. He profusely apologized and said that he thought he had had it listed wrong in his book. Not only was he able to accommodate us at our preferred time, but we were able to increase the number in our party to include two late additions to the group. After arriving at the restaurant, we were immediately welcomed by a friendly hostess who said that our first party member was seated at the bar. We walked to the back, which was technically the front of the Inn back when it opened in the late 18th century. There we met Jeff, who recognized my voice from our phone call a few hours earlier. The bartender, whose name I unfortunately did not get, was a joy to speak with. I, being an avid student of history(especially early American history), began to inquire about our dining location and its founding in 1796. Jeff not only was a great host, but he took me out to the front of the property and explained how the small town of Kimberton would have appeared with the four corner buildings at the intersection of Kimberton and Hares Hill Roads. It was fascinating to hear and much appreciated. The fare is traditional American– and very well prepared. You can not beat the brunch on Sundays, for a mere $ 26 you get a three course(appetizer, entrée, and dessert) meal, along with freshly squeezed orange juice, and all of the tantalizing good biscuits and sticky buns you can consume. I started my meal with a cup of lobster bisque– my favorite– laced with cream sherry. It was fantastic– I highly recommend it. My entrée consisted of the classic eggs benedict, with home fries. I rounded it out with a piece of New York style cheesecake, topped with raspberries and accompanied with a raspberry sauce drizzled on the plate. I have to admit– I am a sort of cheesecake snob. The Inn hit this one out of the park– it literally melted in your mouth. The service was top notch– everyone was friendly, accommodating, and extremely attentive. My only concern was the amount of time between courses. Now I understand we were a party of 9, but we were there for close to 3 hours. I assume this is a kitchen issue, but an issue nonetheless. The ambiance of the dining area was splendid– feeling as though you were a guest at the Inn several hundred years ago. All in all, I highly recommend checking the Kimberton Inn out for an enjoyable brunch or dinner. I plan to return sometime in the near future.

The Kimberton Inn is the traditional, colonial-style Inn that has been around in Chester County for well over 200 years. This one is the standout and, overall, has the best food, best ambiance, and best staff of all of them. It’s truly a dining experience, not just a meal. The menu offers a great selection of traditional fare done right. No passionfruit California-ized nonsense, just the best food available. Pricy, but well worth every penny. I’d highly recommend the Kimberton Inn to anyone looking for a great meal and great experience.

I can’t say enough about the Kimberton Inn. My husband and I held our entire wedding there(ceremony and reception) and it was wonderful from start to finish. Jeff and his staff are amazing, and work very hard to keep things running smoothly. Their wedding packages are very reasonable, especially when you think about what’s included and when compared to other competitors in the area. We’ve been back multiple times for Thanksgiving dinners with our parents(both of which were outstanding) and most recently to celebrate our second wedding anniversary. As always the food was delicious and service was impeccable. I would highly recommend the Kimberton Inn for a special event, or for a nice night out.

We had a party of 10 for brunch today at 11AM. It was a 2 hour brunch but this isn’t Applebee’s. We were celebrating my mom’s 71st birthday and it was our first time here. Food was wonderful, good value for your prix fixe price. We all got an appetizer, entrée and dessert including juice and coffee or tea. My 8 year old ordered from a children’s brunch menu but also got 3 courses. Atmosphere is wonderful, fire places were lit. Service was very good, she was attentive but not annoying. We had so many different things — shrimp cocktail, bananas Kimberton, Caesar salad, bloody mary, crab cakes, salmon app, pork chops, pancakes, waffles, and desserts. No on had a bad thing to say. We will return.

It is what it is — An old inn, very lovely and you can feel the history. The service is quite good, but for the prices, the food was just ok.

Excellent overall. Good menu. Interesting, excellent and very well priced wine list. Service professional. Servers do not ask«are you still working on that?»(Dining is a pleasure, not work.) Portions perfect(there’s room for dessert) with nice presentation. Nothing like sitting by a fireplace on a chilly night, listening to live music coming from the bar. The bar, incidentally, is lively most evenings. Perfect for an intimate dinner, and a business event — it has a good special events room. All that, and the Inn is a good citizen, a supporter of local nonprofits in many ways.

Great service everytime I’ve ever eaten here. Food is classic american continental done right. Downside not a lot changes on their menu. However it’s reliable, tasty and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Can’t go wrong on a special occasion but you best bring a full wallet.

I had dinner with my mother here this evening, to celebrate my birthday. She was a previous diner; I had never been. I left very pleasantly surprised. The ambience was wonderful — multiple fireplaces, intimate seating arrangement, and an overall cozy inn atmosphere. Service was polite, informative, and unobtrusive(being in the industry myself, I’m very noticeable of the waitstaff). Cocktails were spot on. My mother loves KJ Chardonnay(which they only offer by the bottle but our waitress recommended the True Myth, a U.S. Chardonnay they offer by the glass). My mother agreed was very reminiscent of her beloved KJ. I started with the Fall Snap Dragon cocktail which was wonderfully tart and then finished my meal with a glass of their Argentinean Malbec(not my favorite I’ve ever had but it was decent). The food was marvelous — my mother chose the crab cake(huge portion size, lump crab meat, delicious!) and I chose the duck entrée, both of which were cooked to perfection and we very much enjoyed. For dessert, I had a café mocha(one of the best I’ve ever had) as well as the dark chocolate mousse(which comes served in its own chocolate shell — a unique touch). It was rich and lush. My mother usually doesn’t order dessert but she chose to splurge on the sundae — a choice she does not regret! Overall, a wonderful choice and I look forward to dining there again soon!

My wife and I are lucky enough to live local to this restaurant. Whenever she asks me where I want to go for«date night», my answer is always the same. Kimberton Inn. It is by no means a «cheap» restaurant, but the food is QUALITY and the service is unmatched in the area, by a long shot. We never feel«rushed» there. Last night we had a nice relaxing dinner for 2 on the patio(73* and no bugs) and we just enjoyed each other’s company for 2 hours. No pressure to leave, not ignored by staff being outside… just a nice relaxing time. Their bar selection is top shelf. I am a Scotch drinker and can rarely find a HIGH quality Scotch at a restaurant in this area. The first time I asked for a «peaty /smokey Scotch like Lagavulin or Laphroaig 18 or Laphroaig 10», they said, to my delight, «we have all 3… which would you like». Usually, you’re LUCKY if a bar has Laphroaig 10(the least of the 3). They also have a Sunday Brunch(which we used to go to twice a month before we had a baby) which is a GREAT value for money. You get a 5 course meal for $ 25. A bit pricey for Breakfast, but if you think about the amount of food you get, it’s actually a good deal. Jeff, the owner is a great guy who does not overlook the details and isn’t afraid to pick up some empty plates to keep the place moving. He’s not a busboy, but he’s a great owner who makes sure the experience and service are top notch. When he’s not there, Jay, the maitre d, does a wonderful job taking care of us. I can not recommend the Kimberton Inn highly enough.

Our visit to the Kimberton Inn was unexpected, but a pleasant one. The facility is beautiful, and has several nice dining rooms to accommodate their guests. We were seated in their main dining room, after having several glasses of wine at the bar. I had a luncheon portion hazelnut crusted chicken breast with mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy. The portion was just the right size, and was delivered by our server without a long wait. I enjoyed the dish. For dessert, I had warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. I think you’ll enjoy your visit to Kimberton Inn if you find yourself passing through the little village of Kimberton, PA.
