Sure Fire Tacos & Tortilla Grill

Unfortunately this is the worst meal that I’ve had at a restaurant in recent memory. I’m a huge fan of the Taco Deli franchise in Austin and was looking for a gourmet taco restaurant closer to home. If you know good food, stay far away from this place for these reasons:
1. We ordered nachos with brisket. The meat was NOT brisket… it was clearly cured (meat was pink), fatty, and tasted like something that came out of a can (maybe corned beef?). I can’t respect a restaurant that practices false advertising.
2. Except for the mediocre guacamole, nothing tasted like it was fresh. I’m not sure the shredded «cheese» was real, the mango salsa was either canned or jarred, and the number of artificially-​colored tortilla strips on my fish taco was overwhelming.
3. We didn’t receive what we ordered… no tomatoes or cilantro on our brisket nachos. There should have been a cilantro-​onion mix, but we saw only onions. Not a single diced tomato.
In fairness, the salsa bar was okay. Just avoid the roasted salsa that tastes like marinara.
I rarely write reviews but felt obligated to warn other people. This place is truly terrible.

Get the nacho plate!!! This is my guilty pleasure when I want a lot for not that much pocket change.

First why ask me to pay extra for lettuce when it is free on the salsa bar. Food was ok nothing special I ordered the saracha chicken burrito. Was good till I hit the sauce then was not so great all you tasted was sauce and tortilla and nothing else as far as the salsa bar thing great but was pleased that everything looked fresh
Staff was alright but not very helpful. Not a place I recommend

The appeal of this place is their build-​your-​own nachos feature.
You don’t just order nachos.
They have a long list of meats and vegetables and cheese you can put on your nachos.
Then there is a bar where they have different salsas and all the jalapenos, onions and everything else cold you could want to put on top.
You totally personalize your nachos — the way you would totally personalize a pizza —
and if you can’t come up with something creative and distinctive, you just aren’t trying hard enough.
Samuel C chowed down his brisket, sauteed onions and queso nachos like the world was coming to an end but it was nacho time first.
The fact that the salsas are kept WARM in heated pots made him even happier.
True — no one was going to confuse this brisket with the finest bbq brisket texas has to offer.
But with enough queso and warm red salsa and sauteed onions and good chips, I really didn’t care.

I liked it! I think out of my entire meal I liked the queso with chips more than anything. The burrito was big but not exactly what I expected. Flavors were okay but lacking just a little bit. Prices weren’t too bad considering how much food we got! I’m glad I tried it but I’m not sure that I would go back. But do expect a lot of food for the price which is nice.

We did not eat, however the drinks were good and reasonably priced and I really liked the place. If I ever get back to Killeen, I’ll be sure to go back here

Came back again and this time had the chicken quesadilla, which was excellent and a good bargain for the money. For the price, one of the best places around!

Our first visit and we loved it! Fast service, good prices, nice staff and excellent food! New favorite burrito place! The salsa bar is worth the visit, I can’t wait to try everything on the menu but I’m still full from yesterday

Was really dissappointed in this place. Some of my friends said to try so of course I did. The tacos were not tasty at all and the nachos were just as much as a dissappoint. Maybe it was a bad day for them and maybe in the future I’ll give them another try. But not anytime soon. I do not recommend them at all.

Raul went out of his way to help us plan a lunch for the soldiers. He made it easier to understand portion sizes which means a lot because we’re not accustomed to ordering for more than 2 – 4 people. The term «12 X 12 pan» doesn’t register a quantifiable image in our minds but Raul guided us through it all. He made sure we had a variety of meats, enough sauces and fillers for the tacos and at the end of it he even threw in a few appetizer platters and sweet tea for the soldiers, which is a kind gesture that will not go unnoticed. I was surprised that he was concerned about the pick up time, he cared that it should be very accurate so that he knew when to start cooking all the food so that it wouldn’t arrive cold. You can tell he is looking out for the customer, and we were very graciously taken care of. The food arrived hot, everyone enjoyed, and the lunch was a success.

We were working at Ft Hood… found this place had the burrito… Great!
Came back had Supper… equally great had the #7 build your own bowl/​burrito/​taco!
Tacos Al Pastor very tasty.
We are back tonight and service is great substitutions are easy and not extra.
BTW even if you aren’t hungry, and you will be… THE BEER IS COLD! Very Cold very good!

The food is good, the service is lacking. The first time I came we had a male help us and he was very friends and helpful the next time we had a female who was very rude !

Food is alright, but very pricey! I paid almost $ 100 for tacos, and they messed up almost all of them. When I got home a realized, I called and told them and the refused to do anything!!! Wouldn’t even give me a few new tacos! They have the worst customer service, as well as being rude to the customers EVERY time I go in. I will never go back. Luckily TX has many Mexican food options, Would not recommend if your looking for a family FRIENDLY place!

The burritos were so good… Until I noticed some weird things pooling in the lid of my soda. I opened it up and it was molding. I had been drinking literal mold in soda. We told the workers and they told us «they would fix it» with no apology or course of action. This place was disgusting.

It has a clean space, not very good for groups larger then four if you want to sit together. For the prices I would expect a lot more. The food itself isn’t bad nor good. It has a generic flavor and nothing that stands out. I have tried them twice before doing this review. The 3 stars are for the people who are very friendly and the cleanliness of the restaurant.

Over priced, overstuffed tacos. The ingredients are good but they don’t match well with the combination thy have available.

Food was good but a little pricey. Frozen margarita tasted like sweet and sour with ice. Not good at all. There are better places to eat and get more for your money.

The first cashier was great. He was friendly, patient and helpful. Once I realized that my tacos weren’t what I expected (good) I went up to order something different and the female was not as friendly. She wasnt unfriendly. Just kind of blah whateverish. Also the price is pretty high for extremely mediocre food. Not at all authentic mexican food. dry meat, burned and unseasoned ground beef and canned, dry refried beans. Btw, my second order wasn’t any better. I wont be back. Super disappointed.

First time here, I thought, «Meh –just another taco/​burrito joint.» Nope, I was dead wrong. Hands down the best burrito I’ve ever had. «The Ballpark» comes with jalapeño smoked sausage, bacon, crunchy potatoes, cheddar cheese and more greatness :) Oh and the staff is pretty awesome too! After gorging myself on their huge burrito, they came out and offered us a free sampler. So if 6 stars were an option, they would get it.

This is by far the best place in killeen to get taco ’ s. If it’s your first time going in there the staff is very friendly and helps you. I recommend the Tex-​Mex. Always hot and fresh and served in a appropriate time!
