By far our favorite family spot in Killeen. The food is always good, the staff will remember you and if you challenge them to bring the heat, they will oblige(seriously don’t challenge them). We’ve been coming here for over 4 years and have never been disappointed. If you need an easy introduction, have the buffet lunch, it’s surprising inexpensive and features a good selection of our favorites. Yes ordering a la carte is better, but you can beat unlimited curry chicken and chicken tikka masala. Post Script: I have to add for the«foodies» out there that are critical of the restaurant; we love Indian food, we’re from NYC where we know the best place to get it isn’t in Manhattan but Jackson Heights, hell my brother-in-law IS Pakstani, it’s good food guys, put your swords away and bring your nose down to the goodness/

I absolutely love this place. The lunch buffet is great and the menu items are great. Price, dont worry about it because it won’t break your pockets. Taste, just supreme. I’ve eaten Indian food before but not this good. I can say the only thing that throws me off about this place is the weird hours they open but that’s something that can be easily over looked.

Took a physician that happens to be Indian to this restaurant. He said it was, «Okay, just heavy.» He did eat two plates though. I’m an Okie… so what do I know but that the food was and always has been good. I had the goat from the buffet; tasted like the best stewed meat ever! Nice people, clean, and good buffet at lunch. I will likely return when I’m back in Killeen.

Fantastic Indian food. Ambiance was good and for once the restaurant sitting area did not smell like curry. Waiters were extremely attentive and polite. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Very disappointed given the other Unilocal reviews. We went for the lunch buffet so we could take advantage of trying multiple things. Between my husband and I we tried five or six of the options, and I don’t have anything really positive to say about any of them. The sauces were soupy, the naan was tough, and there was no real flavor or spice to any of the dishes. I’ve eaten Indian in other places, and each is a little different, but they’ve all been good except this one. The restaurant looked clean, and the service was okay, but the meal was a complete bummer. I hate spending $ 30 for a lunch that no one liked.

Pretty delicious! I am in no way an expert on Indian foods but the dishes I ordered today we’re delicious. The garlic Naan was light and slightly charred, the Lamb Kadhai was cooked medium and was very tender with a good amount of seasoning. The Rice pudding(Kheer) made everything worth the trip.

The food here is great! I was glad to see an authentic Indian restaurant when I relocated to Killeen for work. Very clean restaurant, and the staff are very attentive. Great lunch buffet during the week.

When I think Indian food this is not what comes to mind. The chicken Kurma was too sweet, the chicken saag tasted a bit like canned spinach, the Naan was less than stellar. The sauces were too thin. The samosa was the best part of the meal but the panoramic was disappointing. The service was good but that did not make up for the food.

We just ate here for the first time — it was amazing! I had the chicken tandoori, it came out on a hot plate like fajitas at a Mexican restaurant and it was seasoned perfectly! The rice was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing(jasmine rice is my favorite!) and the sauces that came with the unleavened bread for the appetizer were maybe the best sauces we’ve ever had! The naan was just a little greasy but it still treated amazing and the food came out very quickly(although we were the only ones there at 9:20 at night). My fiancé ordered the paneer makhani, cubed cheese cooked in a sauce with tomatoes and it was great! I’m not big on cubed cheese as a dinner but it was a great vegetarian option for my vegetarian fiancé and the cream was so good I was dipping my naan in it! She loved it! We also ordered the Aloo Gobi Masala for her brother, cauliflower and potatoes in a sauce. I didn’t try it but he said he loved it and he rarely eats a meal without meat in it. All in all this is one of our favorite Indian restaurants so far! Great food, amazing service, and much more affordable than some other Indian restaurants!

Great service; great food. This is our third time at the Red Onion. We enjoyed the Tandoori Chicken and a charcoal seared lamb kebob. Flavor and seasoning was strong, as expected. Easy to access location and there’s always plenty of room to dine without a wait. Most importantly, since we’re not Indian food experts, the staff helps us match up choices with the various palates around the table.

I saw this place for several years when I lived in Copperas Cove and would drive to Killeen. I had no interest in it and had never tried Indian food before. An ex of mine convinced me to go try it with her one day, so we went and got the dinner for two. Sweet mother of god, I fell in love(with the food, not the ex). This is the restaurant that made me realize how amazing Indian food is and it set the bar extremely high. I have eaten at maybe twenty different Indian restaurants and buffets since this place, and only a couple of those come close to this place. The interior is clean, dimly lit and calming as the windows are practically limo tinted. The servers and staff are EXTREMELY polite and they are very knowledgeable about Indian cuisine outside of what they serve at the restaurant. If you have never had Indian food I suggest that you show up during the buffet hours so that you can try all the different dishes. I have thoroughly enjoyed every single thing I’ve had from this place and my mouth is watering as I sit and write this review.

Come on Killeen… you really let me down with these good reviews. This place is probably the worst Indian food I’ve ever had and I was so looking forward to it since we moved here. The restaurant is very nice and clean and the service was great, but the food leaves much to be desired. We got the Tikka Masala and the Chicken Sugawala(something like that), naan, and chai tea. The curries were so very bland, no heat at all, and the chicken very overcooked. I’ve been to many great Indian restaurants around the U.S. and this one isnt even close. There was a general lack of spices which is so rare for Indian and the fact that I could taste ghee in every bite was disapointing. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Such good food. My wife and son love this place. We shared the sag paneer and tiki masala. We ate until we were full and then ate some more. Additionally we had garlic and lamb naan and it was served hot. I would eat here every week if we lived closer. Excellent place with attentive service.

This place had some terrific food. We ordered for pick-up and everything was properly packed and the staff was prompt. Their basmati rice was cooked perfectly having a nice and fluffy texture. The chicken tikka masala was wonderfully executed for those who crave that creamy orange variety. It had the perfect balance of seasonings with the correct level of spiciness which awakened the mouth. I was definitely drawn to the rich flavors of the sag paneer which had a smooth and creamy consistency. The Tandoori bread was also nicely done. I highly recommend this establishment to those seeking a great meal experience.

This place has the best lamb saug in the world. Staff is super nice — your water will never get below half a glass. Never a rush to get you out the door. I come from Los Angeles and this beats the best out there and anywhere else that I know of. Fantastic

This is one of our favorite dinner places in the Killeen area, and I’m well overdue writing this review… I’m not sure that I can add anything that others haven’t already mentioned. The food here is awesome, and my favorite thing to order is the chicken tikka marsala and garlic naan. Enjoy!
