Got the chicken bulgolgi… so good. The service was awesome so good as well. They were very carering to my wife’s liquid fast for a procedure the next day amd gave her as much miso soup that she could handle. Will be coming back.

So I’m in Killeen, looking for decent sushi. I’ve had world-class sushi in several restaurants, and didn’t expect to find anything incredible here. In this case, I was correct. The menu has a Chef’s Special Roll(changes daily) — $ 16. I asked the waitress what today’s special was. She said it was up to the sushi chef. I asked her to ask him. The manager approached my table at this point and told me that they don’t have a daily roll, the chef just makes whatever he feels like at the time, and will take your preferences under advisement. Being my first visit, and unsure of the quality of the fish I was to be served, I opted not to place myself in the chef’s hands at this point, and to order a spicy tuna roll($ 8) and a «tuna lover’s» roll($ 15. spicy tuna, tuna, white tuna, honey wasabi, etc.). The rolls came out in about 10 minutes. I was pleased at this point. The presentation was nice. The fish was cut extremely thin, and looked to be dried out significantly. Furthermore, the fish was not cut correctly with relationship to the grain of the meat, which resulted in a few pieces of tuna that were a bit chewy. This was confirmed later when I examined the case at the bar while paying for my meal. The filets were open in the cooler, dry around the edges, and they were not wrapped tightly in plastic as I’ve seen before. I imagine if they had enough turnover it wouldn’t be a problem, but some of the fish looked to have been aging for a few days. The honey wasabi sauce was tasty, but there was so much of it on my roll that I was eating honey tuna. And it made the fish appear a sickly grey color, instead of the rich pink or red I’m accustomed to. Summary: The sushi was passable, but only just. I’ve had far better product for less.(Ichiban in Davenport, IA of all places) After drinking water, tax, and a $ 5 tip, I had consumed a $ 30 lunch, and felt a small pang of regret that I hadn’t gone to the Asian Buffet down the road. There, I could have spent half the money, gotten spicy tuna and a rainbow roll that were far more satisfying, and had a pick of anything else on the buffet. I probably won’t be returning unless more improvements are made. The Starbucks next door was doing more business at lunchtime. That should have been a clue, I suppose.

This is the second time I’ve been here, and there was a night and day difference. They upgraded the interior design, service and menu. We had the hot sake and baby shrimp roll for happy hour and got the beef phở for our meals and it was all excellent! Our past experience here was mediocore, and this time was HIGHLYSATISFACTORY. :)

My second visit was a bit disappointing in comparison to my first. I went for lunch, and was greeted and seats promptly. After my server brought my water she left again before taking my order. She came up with a mouth full of food, I was slightly disgusted. I ordered one roll and an appetizer. I was the only customer in the restaurant, at this point, yet it seemed to take unusually long. My sushi roll came out a few minutes before my appetizer, odd, and one other customer and her small child came to the restaurant for lunch. The ones ever seem to ignore me until the Verriand despite clearly empty glass sitting at the edge of the table waiting to be refilled. I hoping this day was just an off day for chopsticks, my first visit was quite impressive.

This place was alright. The sushi rolls were pretty tiny but the flavor was pretty good.(had the Texas roll) I was definitely still hungry after my meal. The price was a little high considering the size of the sushi. Service was great though. Very polite and courteous. Would I recommend? No

Small little nice place good environment, music is dub step in my opinion it’s good, it should turned down slightly, I got the Shin Ramen; presentation looked like curry but tastes well. My friend got the Beef Phở combo; combo just has the normal stuff you’d get from Phở Saigon, good presentation and delicious. Other than food the waitress was nice checking on us every time we passed, we went an hour before closing and it was calm and nice. I recommend sushi from here over getting Shin Ramen, I know they could do better but I was being open minded with food

Three stars for the price, but five stars for that amazing Texas roll. It was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had and service was great! Tempura shrimp, cream cheese, smoked salmon, avocado, spicy mayo! The music was actually really good too and the booths were comfy. If you don’t mind paying a higher price id recommend this place.

I was hesitant to try this place again, because a couple years back the food wasn’t all that! My husband wanted to give it a try so we did… I’m really glad that I gave it another chance, the restaurant is under new management and our food and service was awesome! Our server was really helpful and answered all questions that we had about the Dishes and also gave us input on the dishes that many people order. The sushi chef did a really good job, we ordered 3 different kinda rolls and some sashimi. The taste was all there and they aren’t stingy with their portions, we left there stuffed and surprisingly enjoyed our meal this time around. Whoever is looking for sushi I would def recommend this place. They also have bento bowls, and phở(which I will be trying next time we go back.)

I’m so sad. This used to be my favorite sushi place. What the heck happened here? I saw the sign«Under New Management» and disregarded it, because I seemed to have recalled seeing that sign there before, and the sushi was still great. But man, when my husband went to pick up our takeout order, he came home with sushi that I had NEVER seen before. It was just that different. To start off, the portion was QUITE a bit smaller. To scale, the old Spider roll and Dragon roll were like, The Hulk; what arrived to me, this new version of the Spider roll and Dragon roll, was Bruce Banner. I was not pleased. It tasted different too. I don’t know if it was a new sushi chef, or what, but my husband’s order(chicken teriyaki) was abysmal. OH! And here is the kicker. When I got opened up my takeout box, my sushi was COVERED in soy sauce. Like someone just decided to pour an entire bottle. I don’t know what the hell happened there, but that was just… awful. New management— quit now and get the old management back in. Neither of us will be back, either way.
