Big LL’s BBQ

Had the brisket plate with greens and macaroni and cheese. Brisket was very tender but not moist. Could’ve used a little more seasoning to me. Greens were canned but not bad, macaroni and cheese wasn’t good at all. Cashier seemed put off by credit card machine. Owner did let me taste the sausage which was really good and juicy. Overall, not bad. Sauces were good as well.

I’m more of a steak person than a bbq ribs or brisket type of person so this wasn’t my style of eating but I can’t deny I enjoyed it. Dilano was very sweet & awesome. I appreciated his patience & kindness. It was my first time here so m eyes were flying in 10 different directions. I wanted brisket, baby back ribs, mac & cheese… I couldn’t stop. I ended up going with the special of the day which were the baby back ribs & my choice of two sides + a drink. They were tender & they fell off the bone so easily. It was a melt in your mouth ordeal. I didn’t much care for the sweet tea which had a hint of honey. That’s just a personal preference. The only part of my experience that my friend & I didn’t enjoy was the rude little Hispanic girl. Which really amazes me because when you go to the little Mexican joints, they’re the nicest people ever. Not this one, she had an attitude going on when she saw me at the counter with a soda, ready to pay. I don’t recall ever giving her a hard time but I guess she remembers seeing me in a dream somewhere. Thank you God & the owner for hiring D.

Haven’t eaten here since December 2014 and finally went back this week. Had the rib and brisket plate w/​pinto beans and collard greens. Ribs were tender and just moist enough, right on the border of being dry. The brisket was quite different from the last time. Once this place had the best brisket in the area but it needed more seasoning. It tasted like smoke on meat with very little seasoning. Plus I got the moist part of the brisket but it was slightly dry. Never had that happen in the past here. Collard greens were cold but the pinto beans were piping hot and very good! Staff was great and friendly too!
Overall it was okay but it’s just your average Killeen BBQ place now. They used to stand alone and on top in the area but it’s bbq you can find at any local bbq place now.

The owner acted like he couldn’t be bothered by questions. My husband asked if he could have the end cut of the brisket and he said they only cut it one way «from beginning to end» what happened to the customer is always right? The food was ok… the beans were bland. The potato salad was pretty good. The meat was edible but didn’t taste like it had been smoked by the smoker outside. Needless to say we won’t be going back…

By far the best BBQ I’ve had here in Texas. The pulled pork literally melts in your mouth. Definitely will be back again! Banana pudding to die for!

Staff is friendly and the food is amazing. Get the banana pudding you won’t be disappointed! The pork melts in your mouth and the hot sauce has just the right amount of heat to it, but a ton of flavor. They were out of mac and cheese which sucks but that’s just an excuse for me to come back again!

Big LLs served for me at my charity event on Saturday and there food was a hit. I went into the shop yesterday and got me a 3 meat plate. The pulled pork and ribs were on point and the brisket was melt in your mouth amazing. Tried the banana pudding and it was creamy, not over powering but had the right amount of flavor. I would recommend Big LLs BBQ with no doubt. You want good BBQ? Go to Big LLs

Big LL sure knows how to BBQ his meats! This BBQ joint is incredible with their done right every time meats. Not to say that Rudy’s isn’t good but a lot of people recommend Rudy’s and I always make sure to present Big LL’s as a better option when I’m in the conversation. I think Big LL’s is overlooked because of their location or for the simple fact that it’s not a big brand. If you love eating at Rudy’s then you’ll most definitely begin to love eating here more! Big LL’s also has a punch card rewards system (stop in to check that out). The owner/​cook is always offering deals, discounts, specials, etc… via their Facebook page which I find luring me down here every so often. I give this place a rating of four stars only because the sides selection are mediocre in all honesty. If you haven’t been here to eat, you are missing out. I recommend that you stop by and give this great BBQ spot a try.

Today was my first time here. I ordered the Two Meats Combo. A lot of the items especially meats were no longer available. It’s 3pm and you don’t have chicken and sausage. Damn!
Atmosphere seemed run down but not horrible. Definitely poor lighting inside.

Pulled pork was excellent! Since they didn’t give me any bread when I got home I put the pulled pork between ciabatta bread. DELICIOUS!
Ribs were cooked pretty good too. I’m just amazed on the small portion of meats that came with the combo.
Mac N Cheese was ok.
Collard Green tasted and looked like canned vegetables. No seasonings and very mediocre.
Peach cobbler was cold. The desert wasn’t seasoned and they gave it to me in a ice cold plastic container. I had to thaw n warm it up in the microwave.
If it wasn’t for the great taste of the ribs and pulled pork I would give my experience today 2 star.
March 25, 2015 *Update* I got a message from the owner. He is a Military Veteran and I got told a few things that got me to change the original rating of 2 Stars to 3 Stars.

I love the service that I received when I placed a order for there banana pudding. It was a great hit at my gathering. I would highly recommend anyone to try it or any of there desert. The sausage is also great as well. It’s really worth a 5 star. Now go enjoy some great BBQ at Big LL’S.

Big ll’s has a friendly atmosphere and kind staff. The owner an his wife were attentive and courteous. Their stuffed baked potatoes are my favorite. :)

It’s ok. If you are in the area, and don’t feel like driving more than a few miles, it’s ok. Brisket is passable /​w sauce. Sausage came out cold, and tasted like store-​bought. The food took FOREVER to come out. Very meh.

It was just average bbq food. But for texas my expectations are little higher. The staff was super friendly. Prices Arnt too bad & its very casual restaurant. (You dont get waited on). Im determined to find something better.

The ribs are meaty and the brisket is melt in you mouth tender. Stop by and enjoy. Also have the best banana pudding ever. And awesome corn bread muffins. I can’t get enough.

Excellent BBQ and over the top hospitality from this new BBQ spot in a nondescript strip mall. They smoke the meat in the parking lot for 18 – 24 hours! Yummy food at very reasonable prices.

O.M.G! Before I forget, not sure how long this promotion is going on, but if you check in in Unilocal to this place, they give you a free drink! Also, they give you a stamp card, after 5 orders, you get ½ off a BBQ plate.
This place takes the ribbon/​trophy/​cookie, whatever you want to give it! Pasted by this place so many time, but never ever thought to go in, until today…
Service: the staff is genuinely friendly, they greet you & the young gentleman could tell off the back we weren’t from Texas lol. So he gave us a friendly break down on how it works & what promotions they have going on. Besides the business part, he talked to us like he was happy to see us :) What a sweet heart!

I got brisket & ribs with mac cheese & collard greens.
They let us choose from 3 sauces, honey, mild or spicy. I got honey, since I’m sweet :) haha! The brisket was tender to where it was ripping apart easily, the ribs were amazing! Not burnt, tender just like the brisket & FULL OF FLAVOR! Collard greens were addicting & mac & cheese was perfect! I also ordered a peach cobbler for desert, YUMMMYYYY! I was sooo full but couldn’t stop eating it! Had a taste of the banana pudding & it was to die for! Really home cooked meals & definitely worth the price you pay for!
Environment: CLEAN CLEAN ORGANIZED & CLEAN! Which to me is a plus 100!!! They have little decorations to represent Texas & BBQ, but it was clean & neatly organized.
Totally coming back to this place! They gave me so much food, I didn’t need to cook dinner for myself :)

Big LLs BBQ has some great food, a lovely atmosphere and wonderful staff. If you want to feel like your are going to a family picnic this is where you want to be! Staff here treats ya like family. The prices are pretty good and the sweet tea is amazing! I vote that they should be open on Sundays from 12 – 5!!!

Big LL’s has some of the best BBQ in the area. Definitely better than Rudy’s!

Was in town for business. Small place in a shopping center. Ordered ribs and a few sides. Ribs were tender and had a nice flavor. Sauce was not over powering. Loved the potato salad. Mac and cheese was just ok. Overall, nice people, quick service, very fair prices, and good food. What else do you need?
