Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa

Everything was perfect. Went there yesterday for a facial and even though I called last minute they were able to get me in. Front desk nice and professional, Stephanie gave me one of the best facials I had In a while. She was very clean and organized. Her extractions did not leave my skin bruised or swollen and she disinfected my face very well after which proves professionalism on her part. Her massage while I had my mask on was very relaxing. Very nice experience overall. I’ll be back and thank you.

Take a pass on this location. My massage was with Miranda and I don’t recommend her. I wanted a 90 minute originally but I’m glad it was only an hour because even that was too long. Most of the massage was just a reapplication of oil. I was so slippery that I had to go home and shower, even after using the wet towel provide to wipe off the excess oil. Due to the copious amounts of oil, no real technique could be employed. It was just a slip and slide fest of unpleasantness. There also seemed to be no air conditioning or poorly functioning ventilation. It was hot in there, the table was damp, probably from the sweat of the last client.
I’m sure they employ other competent therapists, but she isn’t one of them. If you must visit this location, choose another therapist.

I’m surprised the ratings are so low at this location. I started coming here since it opened and the massages are fantastic. I’m also a member. I get monthly massages and occasional facials. I love this place and will continue coming back. I had a massage with Rose I believe her name was and it was the best massage.

I had a gift card to this place so I thought I’d try it. The front desk staff was welcoming and nice and it went down from there. I got a classic facial with the peppermint scalp massage add on. The facial felt so rushed and the massage movement were not fluid at all. A lot of stop and go. The scalp massage was such a waste of money. She just scratched my head for awhile and again not fluid movements very annoying. And I left with my hair in huge knots. Not a very nice place to go. Don’t waste your money.

If you go here, you have to know which massage therapist to pick. I have gotten a massage 4 times at hand and stone spa. Out of all of the massage therapists that I had, the only one I liked was Olga, and if you want anything more than just a relaxation massage go straight to her. Olga is AMAZING. With just her touch, she will make a great impact on you.

Went for a 1 hour stone massage. I got the intro rate of $ 69. This place is just like massage envy. The actual massage was just average and the therapist was still trying to figure out how to use the stones. If you are looking for a cheap massage (even though I don’t think their intro rate is cheap) and don’t have much to compare the experience to then I’m sure you will be satisfied.

Stay away, or at least don’t buy a gift card. Was given a gift card for Christmas went on line and saw introduction rate of $ 69 for hot stone, excellent price so I booked it. When I got there she told me that the card was for a standard massage, so I would owe a little more, no problem since I knew the price was $ 49 on the website. The actual massage was fine, not impressed, but for the price I was satisfied. Upon checking out she told me I owed $ 30. I said that can’t be right, since the introduction rate is $ 49. Well as it turns out my gift card was for a standard massage valued at $ 79 I was not intitled to the introduction rate, when you buy a gift card from them you buy a service, not a «price». Dumb, just pure stupid. The only option I was given was I could have the Gift card back and pay the introduction rate. Ugh! Next time I will go back to Le Beaute in Palatine, excellent massage.

Great atmosphere! Attentive staff! Michelle was excellent at coming up with a custom facial. I was glowing when I left. My skin has never looked better. Love the products they use and I will definitely go back.
