Yes, she really closes right at 6. In fact, she’s all packed up by 6 and out of there! so, get there early. This place is run by a very nice lady and her cute little baby. I was told that she only sells organic, non-gmo fruits which is a HUGE plus for us. She sells some ice pops, which we didn’t get to try. We tried the coconut icecream which is made locally by her friend. It was just OK. We had the toasted coconut and the papaya coconut. We couldn’t taste the toasted coconut. She had a great assortment of fruit. Wish we tried the fresh hacked coconut. We planned to return but didn’t get the chance. She charges quite a bit for a coconut.(You can get it at the farmers market for $ 4 per coconut.)

What a sweet lady — the locals here are all so nice and chatty! * Coconut & Macadamia Chocolate Covered Banana — 3.5 stars pic: This was nice treat but not the most logistically easy thing to eat. The chocolate cover is a thick layer and has been frozen, so it tends to crack into large pieces. I’d take a small bite, and the chocolate would crack down the middle and a lot of it would fall off. And the fact that it’s frozen makes you tend to take small quick bites. It would be better if the chocolate either stuck to the banana better or was a more flexible layer. * Toasted Coconut Ice Cream — 5 stars pic: Wow! Amazing, very authentic flavor. I’ve never loved coconut ice cream much, but this tasted so genuine. * Vegan Gluten-Free PB Cookie — 3 stars Unfortunately this didn’t live up as much — the cookie ended up being super crumbly and dry, and rather messy to eat.

This little local mom and pop on the side of the road is worth a stop. We’ve had the pleasure of stopping here at least four times. Each time just for the fresh coconut cracked and the meat sliced for you while you watch. At $ 6 per young coconut some say it’s pricey. I’d say if you find something cheaper as a tourist with the service provided Let me know! They do carry other local fruits as well. Never tried them but almost made a beeline for the guava and papaya once. Cash only. Plus? The young coconuts are refrigerated, cracked and serve to you cold! Such a welcome reprieve. Cold coconut juice and cold coconut meat!

a neat place but no prices means be careful before you pay. Ask how much! We wanted a coconut and the price was $ 6 but we only found out after. It should be posted!!! I would go back if it was $ 3. Sigh. Great idea but too expensive!!!

Awesome spot — came in here for something cold, and left with a delicious coconut meal and a long chat with Rene, the guy working the stand that day. Love this place, and will be back soon.

5 stars for super nice customer service! The coconut was cold & yummy. According to Unilocal, they close at 6:00, we showed up at 5:45. The guys said that he was supposed to close at 5:30(don’t know why Unilocal was wrong, or maybe cutting out early?). He very nicely told us that he had someplace that he needed to be, so he wanted to tell us that he wouldn’t be able to stay open to wait for us to finish so he could split the coconut open for us. He wanted to make sure we were aware of this before we gave him our money. Very honest of him! He picked out a coconut that was on the softer side and showed us how we can easily cut it open ourselves. The guy was super pleasant and didn’t rush us off at all. In fact, we tried to give him a tip and they he started throwing in some extra fruit and showing us how to eat the Lychee, etc. Super nice! Oh yeah, they coconut water was really good and & we were able to easily split it open ourselves and eat the soft meat in the center. Apple bananas and lychees were very good too. Neat place, will definitely go back again. If anything to see the owner again. Love the great customer service!

The cold coconut was pretty awesome, and very cold. Be sure to bust it open the rest of the way when you’re done so you can get at the coconut meat itself. They were out of apple bananas but that was fine. The proprietors experienced a brief, mild moment of panic between the pair when they thought a crystal had been lost, but it turns out it was being used to catch dreams or something, as one explained to another, so things were fine in the end.

Just a little fruit stand on the seaside of the road, you’ll miss it if not watching. Great place for fresh fruits and juice. A few stools to sit a spell while sipping and sampling. We like to pick a few treats on the way to & from Hanalei. Save a few bucks — Try it you’ll like it!

There is truth in advertising: there is a reason why the word«experience» is in the title. Buying fresh fruit here and sampling the refreshing, cool coconut juice is only half the story. The woman who runs the place could well be a Tomb Raider body-double. There is something about the way she expertly yet nonchalantly cracks the coconut in half(along the equator, as she will explain) with the dull side of a machete that makes it look like she should be in a Robert Rodriguez film. So come here for the fresh exotic local fruit; taste the coconut in the same unprocessed way the islanders have been enjoying for years. And strike up a conversation with the owner and learn a few things to get the full Coconut Experience.

I love these coconuts! Seriously, they are so good, so refreshing and delicious. Every time we drove to the north shore, we had to pull over. I think I ran across traffic twice to get these wonderful coconuts. They are ice cold. Order one($ 5) and the woman, who is both hot and cool, chops the neck off. Drink the slightly sweet nectar through a straw while standing on the side of the road on Kauai. Enjoy. When you’re done, she’ll open it up with a machete and carve up the jelly-like flesh of these young nuts with a plastic knife — a Filipina taught her that one. You’re on your way, driving down the highway and slurping up the shards of Hawaiian delicious. Hopefully, you’re the passenger. There’s usually a few fruits you can buy too. The usual ones like papaya and pineapple, but occasionally something you’ve never even heard of. I loved the crisp and white little star apples and have never seen one since. Do it. You’ll love it.

The Coconut Experience is just what it says it is… an experience. Very friendly and funky. Delicious, tree ripe fruit(plus jewelry and other random stuff). Good stop on the way to/from the North Shore.

The name says it all, this fruit stand is truly an experience. Always stocked full of beautiful, fresh, local, exotic fruit, vegetables and flowers. And because the Coconut Experience purchases from local farmers — supporting this stand supports and encourages sustainability… which is nice.

This is the best place in Kauai to buy fresh LOCAL fruit! You won’t find this at the local grocery store. We received a mini lesson and sampling of all of the unique fruits and came home with a bag full. This place is great even before we had a chance to taste the fresh ice cold coconut milk. Thanks for sharing your secret to getting the best coconut milk! Don’t pass this place by. Stop and find out the secret for yourself!
