Really hoping they keep this finnegans wake! They have completely gutted the place. Can’t wait till it’s open again!

A wonderful neighborhood place away from the nuttiness of Duval Street. We stopped in on a Sunday evening when most of the weekenders had headed home. Sitting on their covered patio, we enjoyed a relaxed meal, including the most generous portion of Shepherds Pie I have ever seen, on their porch, and some drinks. Service was attentive but not intrusive.

Finnegan’s reminds me of so many pubs I’ve been to across the U.S. I wasn’t a local, but I had no problem(of course, it was 4pm on a Saturday, so maybe it’s timing). I ordered wings and egg rolls, and a Guinness. I stayed inside, it was(relatively) empty, and the bartender was attentive(with a lot of people coming in to the bar, he kept his attention to everyone). This is a place I could come back to with some friends.

We called ahead and asked if they had vegan options and they guys said ”tons”. When we got there, there was a note on the door saying they were closing at 7pm, which the person on the phone had NOT mentioned. So we drove all the way out there and rushed to get out of there before they closed. Anyways, they have a veggie menu but there are only 2 or 3 things that are vegan. The food is mediocre. If you’re looking for a vegan option, go elsewhere.

This Irish pub has everything. Great drink selection(even gluten free cider on tap), great service, plenty of TVs and big screens for football, and… great food!!! That’s right best food at an Irish Pub I’ve had. Try corn beef & cabbage.

Unless you’re a local forget about it. The bartender waited on us and then went and talked with her friends and ate. Licked her fingers and then served people. Drinks were good and she could pour a Guinness Not the best customer service and not very sanitary.

Finnegan’s was a great place to stop on a hot August afternoon. It’s dark. It’s air conditioned. The service is S-L-O-W. There were only 4 tables and it was very slow. Slow service is the way of the laidback keys though. The sheperd’s pie is very good. I liked the macaroni and cheese with clumps of cauliflower and broccoli. I really enjoyed my icy Magners cider. If you have a craving for an Irish pub while in Key West, this is a good choice.

This place was awesome! The staff is super nice, the food was delicious — not bland like a lot of Irish pubs, and we had this amazing appetizer with pretzels and spinach bread and cheese that was heaven. They didn’t pour a Guinness exactly right, but it wasn’t that bad either. I recommend the pot roast and the above-mentioned appetizer.

The«thin crust» pizza isn’t terribly thin, but it was the best pizza I’ve had on a long while! The service was prompt, but not the friendliest. They had Sierra Nevada on special, but either the beer was getting old or the taps needed some severe cleaning because the taste was way off. Not sure I’d go out of my way to go here again, but a very quintessential Irish bar.

Fun fun fun! Lots of beer choices, live music AND they have gluten free beer! We ordered a mid afternoon snack and shared some Irish nachos. VERY good. It’s off the beaten path which in my opinion is a plus. Well worth finding it and it’s not really far to walk there; only that it’s tucked away.

Just moved here a week ago. My boyfriend talks so highly of this place, so I thought we give it a try. They didnt even carry the beer he want anymore. We got there on a Saturday night and the place was super dead. The bartender is unfriendly. He doesnt know any mixed drinks. His specialty = pouring beer in a glass. Not my favorite local bar, never coming back here(even if they give me free drinks).

I was in FL on holiday and simply stumbled upon this place trying to find a pub televising a manchester united football match. Luckily for me this place was and I believe they were the only place to do so. They’ve got a good diverse drink menu. I had a local FL beer as well as a blueberry flavored beer, both of which were tasty. Cheers for having football on the tele, pls keep it up.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to eat here, but the drinks & atmosphere are awesome! They have an extensive beer list with knowledgeable bartenders who can help you decide what to get. Also, you get a free Jameson shot glass with a Jameson purchase, which is awesome. This place is a few blocks from Duval, which was a welcome relief & little break for us. This is a great Irish bar!

We ate there last night. My husband had the shepherd’s pie, and I ordered the chicken pot pie. I didn’t eat the chicken pot pie because it was ice cold in the center. They offered us a different dish, but we just ended up sharing the shepherd’s pie. I’ve been to a lot of Irish bars and tasted a lot of shepherd’s pie, and this one was definitely below average. The meat was seasoned oddly, and there was absolutely no gravy in it. The mashed potatoes on top were pretty tasteless. We will not be returning to this place.

Shockingly and unexpectedly delicious fish and chips. The onion rings were awesome. The staff was super nice. My first dinner in Key West after an exhausting travel day. Others said their pizza was terrific. I would definitely go back.

This is a go-to place for locals and the home of my favorite cheeseburger in the world… The beast of bourbon. It’s an authentic Irish Pub and features more than 3 dozen beers on tap and a host of bottled beers from around the world as well. Ironically, it’s also home to some of the best pizza in all the Florida Keys. Go figure for an Irish joint. But back to the burger… It’s a ½ pound of black angus serves with a sweet bourbon glaze and a slice of honey baked ham topped with melted Gouda. But what makes it truly unique is the pretzel role complete with salt. The combination of the sweet and salty amounts to the best burger I’ve eaten anywhere in the world. And I’ve eaten a lot of them. Service is the only downside if there is one and that’s usually only a problem if they’re really busy. The kitchen closes at 2 am every night so it’s also a great option for folks that work late.

The Upshot — This is one of the better Irish pubs that I have been to, with a great beer list and pretty good food. Highly recommended. Food — 4⁄5 Service — 3⁄5 Décor — 4⁄5 FOOD — I am a big fan of the menu — they have a decent selection of different types of food in addition to a solid selection of Irish classics, and yet it is not so diverse that it loses touch with Irish pub fare. They have appetizers, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, two types of curry, and a couple of vegetarian dishes. You might find edamame to be an odd side in a pub, but it seems to work. The food is really quite good, although there are a couple of notable misses. There are several dozen unique beers available both on tap and in bottles, and they will change seasonally. Reviews on specific meals can be found below. SERVICE — The servers are certainly polite enough, but every time I have been there, they are awfully busy. As a result, it can take a while to get your order in or get your drinks refreshed. This does not happen all the time, but when it does, it can detract from the enjoyment of the meal. DECOR — The dark wood interior, tall tables, and bar stools all work. Some of the small tables have another«mini-table» in the middle that holds condiments. Convenient enough to get to the ketchup and the tables work fine if you are just drinking, but full entrees will fill up the limited space pretty quickly, and if you have a full party around the table, you will find yourself having to lean to one side to see your friend unless you move the condiments. Outdoor seating is also available. They often have a number of live performers which I greatly enjoy(although they can be incredibly loud at times), and there is a quiz day which is also very popular. Overall, Finnegan’s Wake is great Irish pub with a good atmosphere, good food, and great beer. — — — — — – Mic’s Mac and Cheese — As an admitted mac-n-cheeseaholic, I would deem this is one of the better ones I have ever had. Most use a basic roux that can congeal as it cools, but this one is unbelievably creamy. I do not know which cheeses are used, but it has a nice mild flavor and a layer of cheese on the top that adds a nice layer of texture after it baked. There are bits of broccoli and cauliflower which I think are cooked very nicely and actually add to the meal without changing the flavor or texture. Don’t think, however, that you are getting a full serving of vegetables with the meal. Highly recommended. Pizza — I love the cheese that they use on the pizza. The texture and flavor is better than the normally bland mozzarellas that are on most pizzas. The sauce is also good, and with the cheese, the result is a pizza with a really full flavor, long strings of cheese, and a decent crust. Highly recommended. Black Bean Burger — This burger patty appears to be fresh-made in the restaurant, which is great to see. The black beans are mashed up, covered with sesame seeds, and then grilled to give it a nice crust. It is served on a roll with cheese and hummus. I love the concept, but the texture of the hummus and the patty are a little too close to each other, making it feel like one is eating a chip-dip sandwich. I think it is screaming for a little fat(an aioli of some sort) to overcome the inherent dryness of the ingredients. It is served with a side of shelled edamame, which are great.

Great locals bar! Finnegans has a ton of beers on tap– which is great! And during happy hour they are all $ 1 – 2 off. Best part about the beer is that each is served in the correct glassware– so cool! Love the wings here– great flavor, and they are big! 50 cents each during happy hour. Also love the yummy croquettes here. They are potato scallion fried goodness. YUM. We went here two days in a row!
