As some others have noted, the restaurant has changed hands and is now called Havana’s Jack. Eating on the back deck overlooking the water is great. the Crab chowder and wings were very tasty. The beer broth peel and eat shrimp were okay. Overall, I would return.

Cabana breezes is gone It has been nicely remodeled and is now Havana Jacks. Great spot. Good food. Good service. Their soft opening was earlier this week. Grand opening early February? It’s defiantly worth a return visit

Absolutely great Service and very friendly staff. They didn’t feel they made the first drink for me correctly the first round is on the house. Chef made a special appetizer for me of just scallops, the shrimp quesadilla was very delicious. If you order that pretzel as an appetizer be aware, it is enormous and also very delicious!

Cabanna Breezes has a great view of the Atlantic Ocean, a good bar area and lounge area, good entertainment BUT the food has gone down hill over the past few years. They use to have dishes that I actually liked. Last week we went with some friends that came from out of town. That was a mistake. I had the blackened hog fish. It was not fresh enough considering this is the Florida Keys. In addition to that it was drenched in salt. I hate when food is overly salted in the kitchen. Makes no sense as guest can just add more if needed. My wife order muscles marinara and at least a third of them did not open. That is sign of bad seafood. The had to send the unopened ones back for credit. The muscles were also ridiculously salted. Our waitress would roll her eyes and shake her head when were told her about the terrible food that was delivered. Go to Cabanna Breezes for drinks and tropical music after eating somewhere else!

Awesome view, food was good, service was the worst I have ever experienced. I would never go back. Hopefully things change but my family and I will never know.

We were here for dinner a few days ago and we’re disgusted by the bird droppings covering the ground outside. I’m not kidding when I say covering, either. It’s a very displeasing sight when trying to eat your food and can be easily swept away. The food was just okay and it took about 10 minutes after being seated to be greeted. The only reason this isn’t less than two stars is the beautiful view that the outdoor seating had.

We stayed at the hotel attached. Very nice suites and the food and drink we’re pretty good. Fish tacos were tasty and Cuban sandwich was delicious. Fries were the best. Mmmm mojitos too!

My husband, I and 3 children 11, 10 and 8 just ate here June 14th2010. In the last 4 years I have been traveling the country with my husband, as we have a boat transport company and get to go all over. In the 4 years I’ve been traveling, I’ve never once felt strong enough to leave a review. Tonight at cabana breeze, I experienced the worst service ever, anywhere. It’s a great, beautiful spot that has a few games and is very family friendly. Unfortunately, our server and the managers lack of concern is what has bothered me to the point of leaving a review. Below are a list of the issues: *after being seated, in the least it was 10 minutes before we were greeted by our server to order our drinks. *at least 10 minutes went by before I noticed them sitting at the bar(frozen Pina coladas)((melting away)) 5 minutes later, my husband grabbed them himself. *We ordered soup — assuming it would come first, but it arrived an hour later with the rest of our meals — which were wrong in many ways. *prior to meal arrival, our table needing a cleaning — which became clear would only be cleaned by us. *at that point, we noticed we were never given silverware /napkin combo. Usually a simple fix, but not when server is MIA *food was mediocre at best.- lobster roll — would not recommend *while the food was being placed on table — I requested tarter sauce for my grouper sandwich(came with according to menu) and also requested ketchup for our kids fries. 5 minutes later I notice my server chatting with another table who were there before we arrived, already ate and just hanging out — and it soon became clear she was not at all concerned that maybe I wanted thay for our meals — while they were hot. *I proceeded to tell a manager(after finding him) I needed tarter sauce, in which he got immediately. *when my server finally broke away from her chatting, I got up from my family dinner AGAIN to ask for ketchup a 2nd time. No apologies from her. I took it upon myself to speak with manager directly in hopes of something more than«thanks for the input and he sorry about the lobster rolls — has to do with type of lobster»(and btw, we live in Florida and have had every kind of lobster. Never that bad and salty) *once our bill arrived, the lobster roll was still there and I realized at that point that, the manager I spoke with(brown hair) could care less. My husband then went to find another manager to at least have the lobster roll removed we already told them was bad. I also told manager I was speaking with him, so I didn’t have to leave a review. He clearly didn’t mind — so nor do i. EATTHEREATYOUROWNRISK

The food was average for the area with way above average prices. The food was not really worth what we paid for. However this was secondary. We ordered the Key Lime Pie to see how it was, the menu says, like any other restaurant, world famous Key Lime Pie/best Key Lime Pie in the Keys. When the waitress brought it, automatically we knew it wasn’t the best, anywhere. In fact, I would say that this was the worst Key Lime Pie in the Keys, but to be fair, I haven’t had all of them. The pie was way over cooked and had a texture of rubber, and was burnt on the bottom. I’ll post pictures. The cook should have thrown it in the garbage, and the waitress should have seen it.

The location is nice, just don’t go inside its 1950 in there. I stayed in Key Colony Beach and ordered take out. I have to tell you that they have ONEOFTHEBESTPIZZA’S I have ever had! Yes, I just said that! I fat guy from North Jersey who is a pizza snob. its thin and well done without asking. If you know pizza this is comparable to coal oven pie(Lombardi’s NYC) and they use corn meal on the bottom. They also have a nice beer selection at the bar.

A star for location, and a star for friendly and prompt service, but that’s where the stars end here, folks. No amount of ambiance or waitressing skills can overcome the pitiful kitchen that either doesn’t know what they are doing, or doesn’t care. First, the good: the waitresses and bartender were great, friendly and helpful, and very accommodating to our 2 dogs who came to eat with us on the porch. And the setting is great, you’re right on the water, plenty of sunny skies and ocean breezes to help you relax and remember you’re in the Keys. Now, the bad: looking at the creative and varied menu, you might think you are in for a treat… however you would be terribly, terribly wrong. Our fish tacos with grouper were horrendous, way overcooked fish swimming in salt and sitting pitifully on a tiny tortilla with nothing but watery salsa to accompany it. Our«candied» walnut and blue cheese salad was no better, with a measly portion of tired lettuce, topped with walnuts that are clearly raw and not candied or anything else, and the obligatory other ingredients that came right out of a can or Sysco container or whatever… the whole thing was thrown together with no love whatsoever, which is funny because it took forever to come out. In sum: come for a drink at the bar, but do NOT eat here!

We(wife, 14 year old daughter, and myself) had a great experience here while vacationing in Marathon. Judging by the other guests and their families surrounding us, we weren’t the only ones. Despite the reservation we made through Unilocal not showing up at the hostess’ station, we were seated within five minutes at an excellent table and were quickly greeted by the most enthusiastic server, Matt. With live music and a fun family atmosphere(JENGA!!!) we had a great time. My daughter enjoyed a 10″ pepperoni pizza that was worth taking the rest home. My wife ordered the night’s special of ginger sesame pulled pork that was great, and the grouper I had was just OK(a bit soggy with all the sauce and other ingredients served in a single bowl – kind of a mess). Lobster bisque was pretty good. I’d rate the food only a bit better than average but the setting and the excellent staff more than made up for it. We would go again.

Hey, Cabana Breezes, thanks for a dose of food poisoning. I guess you haven’t made any changes since your failed Health Dept. inspection. I will not be back & I am going to warn anyone else to stay away.

Right on the water which is nice but it’s in the back of a hotel. We left our hotel to come here and we’re kinda disappointed. Also, I am 30, my husband 34 and we were by FAR the youngest of the crowd… During Spring Break week. I would say the average age here was 65? It’s pricey, $ 35 for veal… Which normally would be ok, but you are sitting in a plastic chair mind you. I ordered a blackened chicken sandwich and the bread was stale so I was gonna eat it without… Well I took a bite of the chicken and chewed forever. My husband had the pork, and added a ton of salt and pepper to make it flavorful. The second margarita took 15 minutes to get to us. Overall, the margaritas were good, the that was it! But we would try other places before coming back!

While heading down to Key West both my friend and myself decided to stop at Key Colony to find a restaurant. We came across Cabana Breezes, which worked perfectly since we wanted a restaurant on the water. The location is absolutely perfect next to the gorgeous clear water. There was only one other group in the restaurant when we were there, which meant it was really quiet. Service was efficient without being pushy. I had the blackened fish sandwich. I actually took the fish off the bun after awhile since the piece of fish was filling. I had the fries with the sandwich and they were actually really good, perfectly fried and not overdone. Overall I would go back to Cabana Breezes when driving through the Keys.

I have to give it a 4 because of the view and the service. The food was fine, not special, but fine. However, the view! Awesome. We had lunch here on the way to Key West. It’s a good stopping point and a great kick off to Key West. Friendly staff, good service, decent food and a view that definitely puts you in the right frame of mind. The fish and chips were fine — very mild. The Gorgonzola walnut salad was tasty although I didn’t care for the dressing — too like store bought raspberry yogurt for me. Make sure to walk out on the pier. The water so clear we were able to see lots of fish, including a few really pretty parrot fish. Also, look off to the sides and you’re sure to see iguanas.
