First time here and very satisfied. The sour cream enchiladas are very good and granddaughter liked the children’s menu.

I ate here while visiting my fiancé, who lives in Kerrville. We were looking for a quick Tex-Mex food on a weekday night, so we picked this place. It was a quiet night. I ordered a quesadilla plate with rice and beans, and my fiancé ordered a large burrito plate with rice and beans. When our tortillas didn’t come out with our food(to eat with my rice and beans), we waited a few minutes, thinking the waitress just had her hands full. They never came out, so after a while, I asked her, just to make sure, if tortillas came with our plates, since that’s what it said on the menu. This must have rubbed her the wrong way, because she rudely asked if we wanted our tortillas. We said yes, and she brought them out. They weren’t good. The food was mediocre at best(hard rice and not very good beans). During our meal my fiancé and I looked at each other and decided that we wouldn’t be back to eat at this restaurant in the future.

This was my first time here and was with my wife and mother-in-law. The queso with ground beef was very tasty! My wife had a bacon cheese burger and was very impressed. I had the steak and enchilada plate. The steak was very tasty(skirt steak… could have had the ribeye and enchilada but it was 4 bucks more) and the enchiladas were very gooey! Love that! My mother-in-law had a mexican plate and was very pleased. The rice and beans were seasoned well(I don’t agree with a previous poster about them being from a can… very obviously homemade when I had them). I am excited about trying their breakfast buffet sometime soon.

This is my new favorite breakfast place in Kerrville. Very friendly staff and great food. Can get a bit crowded during the morning breakfast run but well worth it. It can also be a very quiet relaxing meal if you time it right. I loved the Huveos Rancheros! Very popular with locals and I can see why!

Stopped by here today with my sister and her boyfriend. I wanted breakfast and they opted for the lunch buffet. Going to have to agree with other posters. I am in the my early 30s and I think we were about 40 years under the average age of the customers. Nothing wrong with that at all… I ordered the veggie omelet with bacon and an english muffin. It was served promptly and was delicious. Pretty basic but that’s what that kind of breakfast is like. Coffee was basic but drinkable as well. My sister got several items from the buffet. Looked like mostly fried food. A-OK in that I would go here for breakfast again. Not groundbreaking, but nothing wrong with it either.

I love Del Norte. It is good home cooked food and you can get breakfast all day. Good place to go. Fun memories there.

We hit this place on Sunday before heading back home. The after church crowd was here. With all of the locals, I had thought this place woudl have been better. They did have a buffet going. There was fried chicken and some sliced meats. I did check out the bar and was not real impressed. I opted for a ½ pound hamburger. My wife got flautas. When we got our food, the burger was not seasoned at all. I asked for honey mustard and was politely told that I could get«whatever I wanted off the bar.» I asked the woman to cook my burger«rare» and she looked at me like I was crazy. She told me she did not think she could do that but would ask. The burger was done medium well. My wife’s flautas were ok. The rice was not very good and the beans were out of a can. You would think with a name like Del Norte your Mexican food would be much better. I will agree with some of the other review that this place is more of old school café. I was not real impressed. I am glad I did not pay almost $ 10 for the buffet.

The BF and I rolled into the Del Norte parking lot on our way out of Hunt, TX, heading back towards San Marcos. We were looking for a place to eat lunch when we spied their packed parking lot and decided to give it a whirl. The name implied that it would be a Mexican restaurant, but upon entering we discovered that it was more of an old school café, emphasis on «old». We got there right after 11AM on a Monday morning and we were the youngest diners there by at least 40 years. Undaunted, we took a seat at a table and were given menus by a smiling waitress. There was a buffet option available that most of the other diners were taking full advantage of, but we decided to order from the menu. They had everything ranging from breakfast items to deep fried country food to a modest Mexican selection. The BF went for a breakfast entrée that had two eggs and two cheese enchiladas with a beef chili sauce, whereas I went with their veggie cheese enchilada option. Both of our plates were fine. The ingredients were of average quality and the flavor was good. My entrée came with chips and salsa. The chips were warm and fresh and the salsa was decent with a slight kick. The service was prompt and friendly. The prices for the entrees were more than reasonable, and I think a better value than getting the slightly more expensive buffet. I feel like the key to really appreciating this place is knowing what to expect, or at least adjusting your expectations accordingly when you enter. I’m not sure we’d ever go out of our way to return here, but for a quick and cheap lunch in Kerrville, you could probably do a lot worse.

We had to stop there because the parking lot was always full! It’s a local spot, with a café-type atmosphere. Good sized dining room. Very busy in the mornings and at lunch. Good sized portions and good prices. Hurry in and hurry out or linger awhile with friends. Worth the stop.
