Let me start by saying that the hubby and I are VERY picky about burgers, so when we read all the great reviews for this place, we were very skeptical.
It was absolutely worth the drive it took us to get there. The place is adorable! It’s a real throwback to the burger joints of my childhood. The ambiance is great; the staff is fast, efficient and genuinely friendly. However, it is the food that really shines! This is definitely in the top 5 burgers of all time and I have eaten a lot of burgers in a lot of different towns and states.
The burgers are cooked to order. The buns are warm and buttery toasty; the fries and onion rings are amazing. There are lots of other choices on the menu that looked great, but who would ever want to order anything but the burger?
We will definitely be back!

Stopped in today for lunch – not real crowded. Got the JP Classic, sorry to say, wasn’t that impressed. Burger was okay, but not juicy, additions were just ok-​bacon was hard and very difficult to chew, double cheese slices were not melted at all, not even warm. Seems just slapped together, don’t know what the rave is about. Fries were crispy type and were good.

Not the best burger I have ever had but far from the worst. Got the JB’s Classic that comes with double bacon and double cheese. The bacon and burger patty were fresh grilled. Hate it when you get bacon that has been sitting around drying out and this was not the case here. Folks are friendly and the manager came out talking to folks to see if all was okay. I like that. Burger and fries is plenty for a meal. The atmosphere and décor are nice and the place is clean. The restroom was clean too.

The food rocks! I can’t get past the Jalapeño cheeseburger combo, but I’m working on it.
The trash cans where we are supposed to empty our trash are overflowing, and downright nasty. I think they are 10 years beyond their «best by» date.
Credit cards have been around long enough that they need to start accepting them.
The tabletops with advertisements under them are beyond tacky. It really cheapens the look.
But, again, the food rocks!

The place is cute with lots of memorabilia everywhere. But it also feels, well, «sticky».
Excellent job on classic burger. Fresh meat, basic toppings, truely classic and well done. Nearly 5 star.
Not so much the fried sides. At first I thought it nice they had fried okra, mushrooms, onion rings. But, huge fail on execution. Is it more accurate to call them disgusting and greasy or greasy and disgusting? Either way, lesson learned. Won’t hesitate to score another burger, but you couldn’t pay me to add a fried side again. Greases the Unilocal rating so it slips down to a 3.

If you miss that delicious burger and fries or rings you make at home but your just not at home, or, just don’t feel like cooking, stop on in, order up, relax and enjoy the best burger and frings you didn’t make at home. Friendly staff, great food, reasonable prices, and best of all, you didn’t have to cook it. Gotta love it!!!

Nice and juicy burgers. That’s about what it comes to when writing this review. My only critique is that they do not take plastic. It’s cash only and maybe a check. But overall friendly people and awesome burgers!

I love this place, the burgers are sooooo good! The atmosphere is friendly and the staff is great. Only downside is you really need to have cash to pay but it’s worth it! The fries are amazing, wait time is reasonable and it’s perfect for out of towners who want to try something new :)

Captain’s log… star date 21 115. Unilocaling for something that’s not the delicious usual same-​oh-​same-​oh (Whataburger, Burger King, etc.) in the Hill Country. Classics has a very nice retro ambience. The JBs classic was incredibly filling! Let me tell you. They are not chin-​chi with the bacon. We would go back.

Fantastic burgers! We have been here a couple times and have been pleased with the service and food every time! The onion rings are huge and well worth it. The seasoned fries are average and ok, but I recommend the rings!
One amazing thing about this restaurant is that they DELIVER!!! There aren’t many places in Kerrville that will deliver and so when you have a burger place that will deliver, take full advantage of it! Our delivery is always fast (the past couple of times have been within 15 – 20 minutes of ordering)!
I highly recommend eating here over any of the fast-​food junk places. Sure it is more expensive but so worth it!
One draw back is that they don’t accept debit/​credit cards. However, I understand the costs of accepting cards so it isn’t that big of a deal. They would rather keep their costs low and pass that on to you in good food and service.

Went here last weekend while visiting my gf in Kerrville. Other reviews called this place spectacular, so I naturally had to test that theory… and they delivered! Service was friendly and helpful (not super-​duper-​fast, but that’s to be expected when your food’s actually made fresh [still only took about 10m])…the burgers were delicious, and the heart-​attack-​waiting-​to-​happen fries were amazing.
Simply put… I’m now a believer… it’s every but as good as previously reviewed. Add to that the prices vs. portion sizes, and this is one of the best places to eat out I’ve seen.

This place is the best.
I cannot decide which is my favorite here, the chili dog or the burger, and the only downside I see is that I physically can’t eat both! This food is to die for, or possibly even kill for. The staff is friendly, as you would expect from a little burger joint, and the atmosphere is relaxed to the max. Would highly recommend to anyone.

The burgers here are pretty good but the fries are frozen, coated potatoes from a bag. The onion rings seem to be made on the premises but fall short in the appearance department. Another reviewer said that servings were very large but we found that the french fries and onion ring servings were just typical in size.
My «JB’s Classic», like all of their burgers, came on a large, 5-​inch bun and had fresh tomato and lettuce along with pickles, grilled onion, mustard, mayo and lots of bacon. But the cheese was a bit of a let down as it was run-​of-​the-​mill American. Why go to all of the trouble using a bunch of quality ingredients and then skimp on the cheese?
The staff lacked personality and added nothing to our experience.
Lastly, it’s the 21st Century – take credit cards!

Between Texas Monthly leaving off Chris Madrid’s and NOT putting Classics in the Top 5, I don’t know if I can trust TM’s lists anymore. Shame!
Seriously, this is the BEST cheeseburger I’ve ever eaten! Granted, it doesn’t have the ooey, gooey cheddar goodness that is the Chris Madrid’s Cheddar Cheesy, but this is the whole experience. Incredible, thick beef patty, perfectly fresh fixins, and tasty tender buns (white or whole wheat, I’ve had both and they’re both GREAT).
I got the special (I forget the name, but it’s the one with bacon, cheese, and grilled onions). The bacon would make Jim Gaffigan proud! This is the real deal. Thick, peppered bacon. I’d almost go so far as to say it makes the burger, but it’s just one factor in this equation of deliciousness.
The onions, green leaf lettuce (not iceberg), bacon, toasted bun, cheese, and quality of the beef show that they don’t rely on just one aspect of the burger to make it work, but instead put effort into making every bit of it based on quality.
Kudos, Classics, for making my visits to Kerrville so enjoyable!
