Popped in here on our way home from Port A based on the Unilocalers’ reviews. Folks, can we please start mentioning if a place is air conditioned or not? Summers here in Texas can hit the 100+ temps easily, this is vital info! So, as you probably guessed, there is no air conditioning, and it was HOT. We got our food to go so we could get back in the nice cool car. Oldest got a grilled cheese, it was fine. Youngest got a hot dog(with cheese by request) she says it was«good». Hubby and I got cheeseburgers, mine was the small, his the large with bacon. The small is about the size of the kid’s burger at McDonald’s, the large seemed a reasonable size, IF you hadn’t called it large. Flavor was pretty good on the meat, buns were just standard, one of the two slices of bacon was awesome, the other awesomely fatty, so average? We all got fries with our meals and they were definitely hot and fresh. I liked mine just fine with a bit of ketchup, but oldest and Hubby were disappointed in the complete lack of seasoning on them.(Nope, not even salt) Overall, it was fine, just not what I had hoped based on reviews.

I haven’t explored much in Kerrville, but I did happen to find this chic, rustic drive through burger joint. Due to my dads medical condition we can’t always go to a sit down restaurant so we usually settle for a fast food to take to the park. The other day when we were driving around after picking up my dad, we drove across Brown’s Drive In and we thought it was so cute! We ended up checking it out and I’m glad we did. The woman who helped up was super understanding and nice about my dad, because he was being SO loud, and allowed us to take our time! I got a small burger with curly fries and a small strawberry milkshake/malt. The burger was excellent as well as the curly fries, I basically inhaled my meal. The«small» shake was so much bigger than I expected and it was the perfect way to top off my meal. I wish we could have stayed and ate at the restaurant because the whole atmosphere was just so welcoming. Not too many find themselves in Kerrville, so if your just driving through Brown’s Drive In is the perfect stop along the way.

Found this place on the recommendation of a local friend. Could not have been more pleased with the food, prices, and service. We went in the evening so they were sold out of many things since they are popular for lunch. But they had the sourdough cheddar jalapeño bread for burgers – was quite delish! Not too spicy but tons of flavor. We got ¼ lb and 1⁄3 lb burgers – both were cooked to perfection. Tons of flavor and very fresh. Also got cherry shake that was spoonable thick and very flavorful. Highly recommend!!!

Excellent burgers, fresh, made to order! They only take cash or check: and it’s easier to call in then wait. Small outdoor dining area. Fries usually need salt but not stoping me from returning!
