Bad service took forever to get a seat yet place was pretty empty. Need management. No one seems to know their job.

I am giving a review based on my second time here at Trappers Sushi in Kent. With customer service & hospitality being a part of ones daily life wether they know it or not — it can be really hard to leave a first impression when you only have minimal time to do so. My first experience here was not the best, but I don’t completely blame them as it seemed to be peak hours as well as a few other things. Having had a bad experience the first time around I decided to come back and give this place another shot as I live within the area. I was more than please & my whole guest experience changed from my least visit. Ashley(my server), was very attentive and had drinks out in a timely matter. She knew the menu very well even when I asked her for certain rolls that include specific seafood. From start to finish, my overall experience here was nothing short of perfect. Thank you again for being a true hospitalian — I will be back. Regards ‚ Seth W.

I think this place is overrated. We waited 45 minutes for a table and I didn’t think it was worth it. We had seared salmon, spider roll, Bonney Lake, Kid’s California Roll, and Salmon Teriyaki. The rolls were just okay, nothing special about them. The Bonney Lake was good the first 2 pieces and then it becomes sickening if you eat any more than that. The Salmon Teriyaki didn’t have any flavor to it, the only good thing is that they gave us 2 huge pieces of salmon.

I love Trapper’s Sushi!!! I can’t go anywhere else. I love their sushi rolls and the sushi chefs are so amazing. They are quick with getting orders out and if you are not sure what roll you want they make great suggestions. I totally recommend this place:) I can’t wait to go again!

I’ve had a pleasant experience just about every time I’ve been here. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is pretty good. My favorite rolls are the Bonney Lake, the Trapper, the Covington, and the Puyallup. I have also tried the Trump and didn’t find it to particularly live up to the hype. I did take one star off because it is slightly more expensive than other sushi bars I’ve been too.

I usually love trappers so much when it comes to sushi but are visit was less than stellar this time. We always know it’s gonna busy when we go on a Saturday night so don’t except 100 percent service but it was not very good. We sat in the bar and ordered edamame and shrimp tempura for appetizers and both arrived cold and not even room temperature which was upsetting then. Then neither of us had plates because they were all dirty and my wife orders hot green tea and didn’t get it until 35 minutes in because they had no clean mugs which blows my mind. The sushi came out good like it always does but I don’t think it should be problem to get table ware or a cup because all the dishes are dirty. Disappointed!

Delish!!! Really hit the spot. Slow service. And they weren’t that busy. But really really good food.

So, I realize my last review was for the location in Covington, and I haven’t been back to that location(sorry for the wrong location review), but this location is definitely average and not terrible! Pros? Service was attentive and friendly, albeit a bit distracted The crowd was big and so the staffing was heavy, which made the wait for sushi shorter Rolls are definitely elaborate Prices reasonable Ambience inviting Cons? Sushi was definitely extremely Americanized… I go for the more simple sashimi, nigiri, and always less rice Rolls were big and therefore hard to consume in one bite(making the texture combinations hard to appreciate) Cucumber rolled sushi had thick cucumber, which is understandable as few places I’ve been to have mastered the thin cucumber outter layer in maki, but still Tips? Expect American sushi Enjoy! It’s Kent, after all… :-)

Always happy to go to Trappers. My favorite location is in Tacoma but the Kent office is right next to where I work so you will find me here most often. First off, you should know this is not a traditional sushi restaurant. You won’t find your usual Japanese chef, but instead you are more likely to find college age kids rolling your food together. Don’t let this discourage you though. The owners of Trappers have done an incredible job of putting together a restaurant where you can get a delicious Japanese staple but you can also be loud with your friends and watch some football at their bar. The building itself is very modern. It has a dark coloring of mostly blacks and blues with a very handsome etched metal for their bars. Aesthetics wise it is definitely attractive. The food is a mix of some more common rolls as well as some staff creations with names usually created in honor of nearby towns or people affiliated with the company. I don’t eat meat so I stick to the vegetarian menu. If you are looming to avoid meat or just aren’t a fish person definitely try the asparagus roll and the yuppie. You will love it. I order off the menu for pick up and can’t always stay but they do have a 18 dollar all you can eat before 3pm. If you can get in between 2 and 3 you’ll get the place to yourself with your own chef. I would tend to lean towards a 5 star rating but I thought it fair to drop to 4 because of a few small things. First if you come in while they are busy the sushi chefs at the bar will ask what you would like, acknowledge your request, and then completely forget. They are quick to fix it but it can be a pain when the bar is busy and you are competing with others for speed of service. Then of course the price. While. OT a huge factor you will find that Trappers is generally more expensive than some other sushi places in the area. Usually a dollar or two per roll.

Happy hour rocks your socks! Sunday to Thursday, 3 – 6PM, $ 20 for any 3 rolls or $ 6 for specific rolls. Huge menu with 28 long rolls, various hand rolls, lots of appetizers. My favorite right now is the Barackade, thanks to the seared fish on top and the excellent blend of flavors. That could easily change, though. Service has been mostly good, and they do fill up, so be ready to wait a tad. Also, if American/Western sushi is not your thing, then be warned that this is mostly what Trapper’s has. However, the rolls are generally fresh and tasty, so give them a try.

We usually love going to Trappers Sushi. Although I like traditional Japanese sushi, my girlfriend loves the rolls at Trappers so we end up here often. We went today, 9÷26÷15 at about 8:30PM, much later than we normally do. We were seated quickly and greeted by the sushi chef at the bar. He quickly took our order for a couple rolls. The rolls came out and we still hadn’t seen our waitress to get our drink order. After each finishing our first roll, the waitress finally came over to take our drink order. I wanted to order a squid salad too, but after she got our drink orders she walked away. We got great service from the sushi chef, to the point where he was offering to get us drink refills when our waitress was no where to be seen. Typically we get better service from the wait sfaff, which is why I gave a lower rating. As for the food, my girlfriend loved the Amazing and Mt. Rainier rolls. I loved the Sounder and Puyallup rolls. This time we also tried the roll of the week, the Kraken. Neither of us liked it much, mostly because of the garlic sauce. Garlic sauce leaves an aftertaste that neither of us liked. When we were ready to pay, our waitress took forever to pick up the check, but processed it quickly when she did pick it up. Not our best trip to Trappers, but we have had some great visits in the past and will come back again in the future.

My brother took me here for the first time and although I am not a fan of all you can eat sushi, this place was a lot better than what I expected. Although it was pricy, I loved how there was a great variety of rolls, nigiri, and appetizers to choose from! What a neat little place! My favorites in particular were the Trappers, Phoenix, and Soft Shell Crab appetizer! The servers were quick with drink refills and plate cleanups! I am glad to see they were attentive on a slow day as well! Kudos to you!

Mediocre at best, strictly in terms of flavor and freshness. Its a great place to catch a game and have a drink however. I have only been to this restaurant once to put hings in perspective. The staff is kind. The raw hamachi was flavorless and I could not finish it. If I am not mistaken the ginger is pickled, which is something I have never had at a sushi restaurant. I will also note that I came in about 20 minutes to close which, to be fair, might explain the food quality. Overall I stick by my rating… mediocre.

I like Trappers a lot but be prepared that this is far from your traditional sushi place. If you are looking for a true Japanese sushi restaurant then this is not the right spot. But if you are looking for all you can eat awesomeness then this is for sure the place to be. The all you can eat option is only at the sushi bar so if you are with a large crowd then plan on waiting a while of your party wants endless raw deliciousness. You pay a flat rate and then you can have unlimited sushi for most rolls as well as one choice of their premium rolls. They have a lot of spicy roll combinations but also offer many deep fried and modern fusion rolls. The Trump is one of my favorites among a lot of others. Service is always good, it’s a noisy/busy vibe and the sushi chefs are always easy to talk to and friendly. I’ve never had a hard time ordering from the chefs even when it’s loud in there they make sure everyone is taken care of.

I do have to say that I have gone back and retried the place. Service has gotten better and I learned other things to order… like Bonney Lake roll. Yummy. They now even have a happy hour menu 3 rolls for $ 20. Bonney Lake is a very good roll. Since it is across from my place — what can I say it’s convenient.

Love this place! They have 3 long rolls for $ 20 on Monday’s and the rolls are delicious! It’s honestly one of my favorite places because the rolls taste fresh and are creative and unique. The wait takes awhile sometimes but other than that it’s definitely worth stopping by.

The wait is ridiculous! It was an hour on a Tuesday night. And they have only SUSHIBAR open for all you can eat. But the wait was WORTHIT. Each nigiri sets around $ 4-$ 5 — 2 sets of salmon — mackerel — tuna — Unagi — scallops — albacore — octopus — 1 mount Rainer roll! You have to get this. — 1 trappers roll ! — 1 mountain rolls — 1 dragon rolls — 1 bowl of seaweed salads. Just for me. I paid $ 20 per person. Like what’s up!

The only thing that knocked my socks off was the trump roll! I think this place is a little bit hyped but the trump and maybe a couple other specialty rolls is worth the trip here. All the specialty rolls are about $ 10-$ 15 which is WAY over priced to me! So we ordered Combo C because it came with 4 pieces of Trapper, Moutain, Mt. Rainier, and Crystal Shrimp rolls and with the combo, you get a bowl of rice, miso soup, house salad, and edamame all for only $ 20 and we ordered the half order of the Trump roll($ 10). At first all the rolls in the combo looked amazing and were really delicious. But warning: all these rolls in the«long roll variety» ALL come with crystal shrimp tempura inside and just vary on the toppings albeit the crystal shrimp was tasty! Kudos to all the workers here! EVERYONE here flashed us smiles, greeted us, and thanked us as we left! And our server, Rebecca, was also a highlight of our dining experience here– sweet, attentive, patient. I’d like to come back when I feel like balling out on some fish and order the more popular specialty rolls to give this place another chance to wow me!

All you can eat lunch buffet for 17.95 daily from 11 – 3! My hubby and I love sushi, I can usually eat 10 – 15 dollars worth from conveyer belt sushi and the hubby can chow down on 30 worth of sushi… We figured why not go for the all you can eat… I usually eat sushi rolls so I was quite pleased with everything but the hubster usually isn’t a roll person so he left unsatisfied … The sushi chef was quite nice, I think his name is jimmy and fast at making everyone’s order… We’d probably come back but not do the all you can eat cause the rolls were HUGE and I was forcing myself to eat more to get my money’s worth lol…
