I was meeting a group of friends here at 4:30. When I got there at 4:20 the door was locked. At 4:30 we all left and went to Kent Station. I won’t go back.

To celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary, my husband and I chose to stay in Kent rather than go to Seattle. We remembered Shindig fondly from its early days and decided to go back. The place is definitely as we remembered it — classy, clean, modern, sparkly and most of all, the martini drinks are splendilicious! I’m not a martini fan, more of a wine connoisseur, but I have allowed myself to venture on occasion, into cocktail territory with the hubby, only if the drinks are done well — not too sweet and not heavily alcoholic either. I must say, the martinis here are rather enjoyable. We always sit at the bar and enjoy the company of the owner/bartender and other bar mates, or simply enjoy each other’s company. The ambiance here is anything you prefer. The staff is not the hovering type, but is always attentive to our needs. My husband is impressed by how they serve the martini, as it should be served, leveled to the rim of the glass. Gibson, his preferred drink, has the right blend of vodka shaken to perfection. As for my special girlie drink, I stick to pomegranate martini or cosmopolitan, both lovely. The snacks are quite limited since they focus more on the artful martinis, and they don’t have a working kitchen, but they still do an excellent job. We love the chicken basket, edamame, butterflied shrimp, and nuts — all complement the drinks well. Overall, our experience here has always been perfect. Make sure to call ahead to check if they are open. As solo business owners, they close shop when business is slow.

Fabulous! Great drinks and great service. We sat outside and there was an easy listening band playing just down the street which added to the atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Great little hole in the wall. I love martinis and this place is a nice cozy spot for a causal night out. I took one of my friends here for a simple girls night out and it was perfect. It has that nice mom and pop feel and small town hospitality I adore. The staff is very friend and accommodating(also pretty fast) with the orders. I had to try the magic mushroomed martini after ready some reviews and I gotta admit, it’s a trip. I’ll definitely be returning

I’ve seen tons of people complaining about this place not being open when it says it’s going to be, so I’m glad we came at a time when it WAS. I noticed that they do indeed still have a «summer hours» sign posted, so maybe they should fix that, but outside of that… No complaints. Décor: Way cool! Mood lighting, a huge wall full of plenty of spirits and other drink ingredients, and candles everywhere. Also, they have a wall that’s covered in local artist’s work(it’s all for sale!) The outside is very cool looking to, with it’s rustic Shindig sign on the building. Service: Amazing. The people who served us that night(an older man and woman) are the owners, I’m going to assume. They seemed so natural about talking with everybody and operating the place by themselves. I don’t know how to describe it, but I could tell that they were really passionate about this place and having people try their drinks. It was awesome! Food/drinks: They have several small snacks that they’re able to prepare, but nothing for a meal, so plan accordingly. We ended up getting the steamed edamame. It was simple, salted nicely, and you get a HUGE bowl for $ 5. Perfect snacking food! — Mango Mojito: Deeeelicious. I don’t normally like mojitos, but they sure know how to make one. It comes with two huge pieces of mango inside, too! I’d definitely get this drink again if I wasn’t curious to try others. — Out Of This World: I’m not sure what was in this one, but I know it was a raspberry flavored drink and the one that the owner recommended. My boyfriend really liked it! Shindig is such a cool spot — I can see this being an ideal location for a first date, hangout spot before the Tbirds games, or even a girl’s night. Definitely check it out if you have the chance to!

My husband grew up Kent so we decided to come down from Seattle to go to the Kent Art Walk. We walked into the Shindig with hopes of getting some good food and a drink. The place was empty except for one other person. Before greeting us, a male employee asks for our IDs. We show him our IDs and he sees my husband has an out of state ID. This guy tells us he can’t serve us and tells us to leave because«something doesn’t feel right.» Beware of coming here if you are from out of town. They are not friendly, even though they do not appear to have much business. We have been to the Quarters down the street and they are very friendly and have great food. Skip this place and go there.

We didn’t get to even look at the menu properly. Owner ignored us as we walked in, then took his time getting menus to us. When he decided to talk to us, he demanded our IDs. Fine, hand the man our IDs. He glances at mine(Official State of Mississippi) and hands it back saying«I’m sorry, I can’t take this. It is out of state and does not look right.» What he means I do not know. Fine, he cannot serve me. A bit paranoid, OK. My wife, who is with me, has her ID out. She has an official Washington ID, yet the owner refuses to look at it! She asks him for his reasoning, yet all he can do is tell us «I don’t trust your IDs.» He was intentionally rude to my wife and refused plain logic. These ignorant people are not worth frequenting. I’d give them no stars for blatent rudeness if I could.

My wife and I happened upon shindig for my Birthday. We were very pleasantly surprised. This place is not an early 20 something bump and grind establishment. Instead they have great drinks and a relaxed atmosphere. Dave the bartender is a mad alchemist concocting heaven in a glass. My only complaint is i didn’t find this place sooner.

Shindig is the kind of place you go after a long day at work when you need that magical drink to send you off into a weekend of fun. Shindig has many martini options, and they really know how to mix their drinks. I’ve been going here for a few months now dropping in at least once a month to sample their menu. I am about halfway done, and every drink has not disappointed me. There are snacks to be had, and the atmosphere is friendly. There is a regular crowd some nights, and if you are fortunate to beat the rush, you will see the influx of happy patrons that agree that Shindig is one of the finer drinking establishments you can find in the area.

We were at Shindigs for New Years Eve. It was our fourth consecutive year. New drinks, new friends, great times. Dave was dancing!

We made a special trip to check out Shindig and were right there at 4. They weren’t open. We wandered around for 20 minutes, called them, checked their website, Facebook page, etc. to see if their hours had changed, or if there was some reason they weren’t open(even though they have them posted on their door). Nothing. Disappointed, we got back in the car and found somewhere else for date night.

I was told that HH was«T-F 4−7pm» I showed up on Tuesday only to find out that they’re running off of summer hours and they aren’t even open on Tuesday! *Sigh* It’s local so I decided that I would try them again sometime. I’ve now gone there a few times and I see myself going back again. The bartender definitely knows how to make a great drink! They don’t really have anything special food wise, just fried goods that are cooked with the autofrier. They have a pretty extensive martini list to choose from with, of course, a full bar.

Will not come back! A friend asked for a simple ingredient change in her drink. The bartender/owner proceeded to argue with her that the specific drink isn’t made like that, which she knew. While she was trying to tell him that she knew that but would like it with the change, he said«if you don’t speak English, you can leave». When we asked to speak with the owner, we were told that it was someone else working. As we were telling her what happened, he interjected and admitted to what he said with no hesitation. After speaking to the people that hosted the event, we then found out that the guy, that was EXTREMELY rude, was the owner. Needless to say we all left.

This martini bar has a lot of potential in becoming a great hang out! I attended a paint nite event recently and found that, although the seating was obviously different, there were a few things that could cause this atmosphere to be undesirable. The lighting was terrible. The whole place felt dark and had very dim overhead lights. They did have store front windows letting light in(still not enough light), but what about at night? I don’t think I could even imagine reading menus in the dark. The drinks were very tasty, but extremely pricey. I ordered a mango mojito, light mint, and it was perfect. It came in a small cocktail glass and cost $ 10! I haven’t had to pay that much for such little liquid in so long! The drink itself was worth 4 stars. The bartender was very nice and accommodating to the 20+ women that were in attendance there. I did hear from my seat neighbor that everything she ordered was delicious. I would like to try this place out on a random weekend day to see how it works normally!

Nothing but great memories made at this place. I love bringing my friends here and sharing a laugh. The drinks are AMAZING. I’ve tried the chocolate martini, the tiki torch, magic mushroom and the out of this world. Couldn’t tell you which one I loved best. Service is great. Chill atmosphere and they have waffle fries and taquitos. How could you go wrong??? Can’t wait to go back for my next drink!

Exceptional drinks. Very creative. Low key place that uses fresh ingredients and is very generous. The atmosphere is low key like I stated earlier but nice and friendly. The bartenders we very professional and even put on a bit of a show. They usually have good live entertainment.

This place is great! My girls and I decided to do a paint thing, found this place on a groupon deal. The bartenders were of good service. The painting area was small, and a bit crowded, but we all fit, so its okay. The instructor and instructions were a bit rough, because of the glare from the sun it was hard to see, and we were far so hard to hear. I ordered a basket of fries($ 5) and a mango mojito($ 10) the fries were waffled fries. It was good. The thing im gonna talk about is the mojito! It was freshly made. I was impressed, and it definitely tasted amazing. It might eveb be one of my top places for a mango mojito! it came with fresh mangos too! Yummm! Overall, this place is great. If it wasnt for paintnite, I wouldnt of even discovered it. Though, its not located in a place where I go often, id make a trek down there for the drinks!
