We aren’t gluten free, but I needed a vegan birthday cake to accommodate some party guests. Not only was the staff completely accommodating and friendly, they did such an incredible job on the design. We gave them free reign to design for dinos and they ran with it. We couldn’t be happier and this cake was the star of the party! As someone with no dietary restrictions, this cake was perfect. Wasn’t dense as some gluten free can be, and no one could tell it was vegan either! Such an incredible job all around.

Met a friend here for her birthday. We were so pleasantly surprised that the bakery is located inside a yarn shop! Unfortunately we do about every other kind of crafting except knitting so although the shop is cute we mostly enjoyed the bakery. They had soo many options to choose from, and all gluten free! Anyways, we will be returning for sure!

The best gluten free bakery around. Good ingredients. Any of the cookies is a good choice and trying other items as I go in but every time I go in I am trying something new to me, because why not.

I had to run errands in the south end and hadn’t eaten all day. I used my handy GF app to locate this place I had never heard of before. I followed my map to this obscure location and to my very pleasant surprise saw inside an abundance of choices of gluten free items. I bought several items to eat later but tried out their chicken chowder and found it to be the very best chowder ever!!! It was simply delicious with lots of fresh chicken chunks and the flavor was super! The other items I purchased to eat later were the cheesecake, quiche, and two cookies all of which were very delicious as well. Although it took an app to help me find this place I assure you it won’t be my last visit. I was really impressed with the quality and choices of the food items. One more thing… this store is combined with another business called Maker’s Mercantile which is a craft shop that offers yarning supplies and classes etc. Very nice and perhaps I will take up knitting or crocheting with a class they offer next time I visit !!

I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. thank you fellow Unilocalers for your reviews ! I went yesterday for the first time and got some savory dishes(sun dried tomato mushroom kale and bell peppers pot pie & curry chicken) and it was DELICIOUS, flavorful and filling ! I also grabbed a couple cookies that hit the spot. I cant wait to go back and try more things. the service was great, the staff were friendly and I’ll be returning very soon.

Woohoo! Finally a place where nothing is off limits. Not only is everything gluten-free, but the quality surpasses any«regular» artsinal bake. I am a full-blown addict. From the various galettes offered and the loaded biscuits, to the carmelitas and coconut like bar. Everything is flat out amazing!

Do your mouth a favor and eat here. Macaroons — check. Cakes — check. Every other delicious baked good you could imagine — check. I used to be one of those people who thought that all gluten free food turns to crumbly, tasteless cardboard in your mouth. RylieCakes has changed my mind. But the bacchanal of deliciousness doesn’t stop with desserts and coffee. Show up on Saturday morning to find out what the rotating Breakfast/Brunch menu is for the day. Biscuits & Gravy? Breakfast Tacos? Chorizo hash? Frankly I don’t care because I’ll order whatever they’re cooking. Does Unilocal offer six stars? The staff is a combination of hospitable, friendly, and service oriented people. They’re a direct reflection of the owner/proprietor, who will make you feel like family. You’d be hard pressed to find a better bunch. I covet a good bakery, and RylieCakes is the best in the Greater Puget Sound area. #boldstatements. I’m getting married this fall and RylieCakes is making our cake. Easiest decision of the wedding planning process by far. Your search is over. Eat here.

This place is awesome! They have a wonderful variety and it is gluten free heaven. When I came yesterday, I got like seven items: a lemon bar, cranberry ginger bar(tasted and looked like the cranberry bliss bar from Starbucks,) a piece of champagne raspberry cake, a chocolate mud pie thing, and two cookies!(Yeah I stocked up). Will be coming back!

All of their treats are gluten free and they have some vegan options too, which I’m not gluten free or vegan but I LOVE the taste of their food! My chai tea latte tastes the same EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Which is amazing. I can always count on them to make it right. I love stopping by Rylie Cakes :)

I absolutely love this place. It’s SOCUTE. I love the warm fuzzy feeling when I walk in. The choices of tea, coffees, and food is great. I love the rose tea. My favorite thing to get is, of course, the macarons. They are delicious. I recently met the owner and she is the cutest, so nice! I would highly recommend coming in and sitting down to have coffee with some macarons. I recently tried one of the salads and I don’t really like Quiana or whatever it’s called lol, but it was so yummy!

FIVE star serious. Serious. Serious. Really… seriously. Five. Food allergies? What food allergies? I don’t have not a one. But are you… Vegan? Yes, that’s what they do here. Gluten free? Yes, that too. But do I need either? No! But is this my fav bakery ever? Yes!!! I am not joking here kids… this place takes their desserts seriously. I got a lime bar, a cheesecake slice, and a white chocolate strawberry tart. All vegan! And one would never know! How do they do it??? Oh and they have lovely bright colored pinks, blues, yellows etc of French macarons, and tiramisu… I’m getting a few next time. :) It’s surprising where they are located, it is directly next to our fav phở place. Which makes things waaay too easy. Phở, then five yards to the right for a treat. Yay! It’s in the back of a craft store that is cute as heck. It’s like walking into a Martha Stewart’s living room and than her kitchen also. Think calming but eccentric turquoise and all shades of creamy Browns with yarn and cutesy hand made items throughout. Tucked right behind inside the shop is this fabulous little bakery. They not only have sweets but also savory items. I have not had them… but better believe it, I will. The nice guy who was working the bakery yesterday was very knowledgable and kind. I was a bit annoying cuz I ask a lot of questions, and I ask even more questions when I get really excited about pastries. My mind and heart get all wrapped up in the thought of butter and sugar and flour. Even if it was gluten free I still dream of bread and butter. I turn into crazy denial girl. I love pastries. I really do. Oh and of course this bakery has a full espresso menu too. And a sitting area too, so to enjoy your sweet and/or savory treats along with your coffee of choice. So go here the minute you are in Kent/Renton area… swing in and you won’t be sorry you did. I’m so serious here. :) You heard me… five star serious.

This bakery is good for those with food allergies. I got a few macaroons which where ok. Not bad but I wouldn’t drive out of my way. They have pretty good flavors for macaroons such as toasted coconut, salted caramel, lavender. Decent price of 1.25 per macaroon. They also have a few desserts on discount usually.

I’d say rylies is probably the best bakery in the kent area. I love their macarons and today I finally ventured and tried one of their other pastries and thought it was just as delicious! I’ll have to try more items before giving them a 5 star, but so far so good… and if you care about this stuff, it’s all gluten free desserts too…

RylieCakes, you are too good to me! Stumptown coffee, brunch specials every Saturday(get there early before noon, they go like hot cakes!), and oh-so-glorious pastries a-plenty(say that 10x fast!). They also have a wonderful variety of deli food that is perfect for lunch — everything from creative seasonal salads to savory galettes. You can check out all the food porn on their Instagram, @ryliecakesgf. They are good at updating you on the latest«du jours.» The venue is a very clean, cute, country-cozy establishment. It is also home to the owner’s family’s yarn store, Maker’s Mercantile, so there are plenty of places to sit and the staff are all so friendly and hardworking. Just a couple final notes on what RylieCakes is about: 1) they pride themselves on being gluten-free, while also catering to those with other food intolerances. I myself am not gluten intolerant, but go here simply because I am a foodie. Everything here is just so dang good and I do not notice the absence of gluten as people sometimes do in these type of establishments. You’ll find none of the disintegrating, cardboard-esque options here, just delicious treats that happen to also be free of gluten. 2) Lastly, RylieCakes is famous for their French macaroons and rightfully so — they are light, delicious, and melt in your mouth! That being said, I HIGHLY recommend branching out into her other pastries and deli items. You’re doing yourself a disservice if you skip everything else.

Stopped by the other day to pick up some macarons for some friends of mine… I was expecting an independent bakery, but actually this little gem is tucked away in the back corner of a mercantile store. So anyways. The display of baked goods was beautiful with pastries, cookies, macarons, a little bit of everything. All gluten free. I wish I had tasted the macarons, but I bought several for 3 different friends who all claim they were delicious. The macarons are smaller in size and 1.95 each. I was able to try the chocolate chip cookies I got for the kids. That was delicious! Gluten eaters like me won’t be able to tell the difference. Slight crunch but chewy with the right amount of chocolate bits. Yum! Customer service was great! The lady helping me was awesome. I told her the macarons were for friends, so each box went into its own paper gift bag, complete with tissue paper! Loved it! A little hard to find. if you’re looking for an actual bakery storefront, you won’t find it. But Unilocal will lead you right to it!

I love rylie cakes! I discovered this place a little over a year ago and I still get excited to come visit. A little gem in kent that’s perfect for those who can’t have gluten! I once visited a gluten free friend and bought her a couple treats from here, happily knowing it was something she could eat, and she loved them! I’ve also gotten a generous slice of cake for a friend’s birthday and he liked it, too! A treat for you and for friends. The macarons are great! They are smaller than pike place’s la panier, but they cost about the same. I don’t usually mind since it’s close by, and I prefer the flavors they have at Rylie. The salted caramel is amazing; it’s one of the smaller macs but there’s actual salted caramel inside the buttercream. Mmmm. The lavender, chai, honey vanilla, and lime are all so so good, too. They constantly change up their flavors so it’s always fun coming in to see what they have that week. They have other delicious cookies and are conscious about allergies and food restrictions. They also have Saturday morning brunches that I’ve been overdue on trying. The galettes and quiches look amazing! Small complaints, I have had a couple older macarons before, so inconsistency in freshness was a little surprising, especially for $ 2 each? A few other baked goods that were dry and went unfinished; I actually tossed them after a few bites because they were so dry. I’m a little conscious about what I get after a couple subpar experiences but none the less, I’m still a happy customer here. The service is always spot on; extremely warm and friendly. You can tell the owner has a true passion for what she does, and she does it well! You know a place is good if the name owner, rylie, takes the time to work on her food and talk to her customers. They have treats and drinks(stumptown coffee!) reward stamp cards so be sure to frequent for the occasional perks! And follow them on facebook to see what they’re up to that week; it always changes!

I absolutely LOVE this bakery! I have celiac disease and was so happy to know that I can enjoy so many sweet and savory treats from here without any concerns about cross contamination. After a few visits, I decided to have Rylie make my wedding cake and it was AMAZING. The price was right, the cake was so delicious and it turned out exactly how I imagined it to be. I couldn’t stop raving about this place and how excited I was to have them make my wedding cake so my mother-in-law decided to order my bridal shower cake(lavender) from here as well. Everyone couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was. My only complaint is that I no longer live close enough to RylieCakes to be able to just drop in for some goodies. My husband is flying back home to WA in June and I already have plans to have him stop by & bring me a box of goodies back to TX. :)

I came across this place while looking they the craft store that it is located inside. And I’m so glad I did! Rylie Cakes is a gluten free bakery and had many options! Not only gluten free but vegan, soy free, but free ect. Great for people with allergies! I saw the French macaroons and had to try them. I got the toasted coconut, peaches and cream, mint chocolate chip, salted caramel, and pistachio chocolate. All were delicious but the coconut was my favorite. We also got a vegan bananadoodle cookie and nutterbutter sandwich. The bananadoodle was super soft, but fell apart by the time we got home. The nutterbutter sandwich was delicious! Service was good but slow. Will definitely be returning soon!
