It’s okay. I would stick to just the Carne asada or enchiladas. Everything else feels like they do too much to it. Like adding mushrooms to a quesadilla? No just… no.

Very disappointed in this place. I visited this place for a coupon here on Unilocal and apparently they’re not doing that anymore. I called the attention of the hostess about it and she said that the owner doesn’t honor it anymore. If it is not working anymore, TAKEITOUT. That being said, the food itself is actually great, huge servings but a little too high on the price value of what I’m eating. The service was great, and the area seems to clean. Other than the fake promotional coupon. Everything was up point. If a business cannot own up to their own coupon, they shouldn’t run a business because that is lying to their customers, lying to get people in, and lying to take advantage of others.

THEYNOLONGEROFFERTHEIRCOUPON. Don’t come here expecting to get 50% your dinner entrée with the purchase of something that’s $ 8. It’s a crock of lies that they use just to pull people into their dying restaurant with inflated prices. I normally try to support smaller restaurants like this as opposed to going to a larger chain to like Azteca but when they pull a switcharoo like this it makes me want to discourage other people from coming here. There aren’t listed prices for drinks, you have to guess what you want and hope that they don’t jack up the prices. It’s ridiculous and I didn’t feel welcome here at all after I pulled out the Unilocal coupon. Now I’m afraid that they might have spit in my food. During my stay here there were ants crawling around on the table and on the walls and it was incredibly off putting. Honestly this place needs a lot of work and changes before I’ll ever come here again. The food is run of the mill standard Mexican food, nothing spectacular that should reflect the elevated prices.

The service is still abrupt and not always attentive, so after coming here three more times my review stays at four stars. The food is very good except for the salsa which is nasty.

Got a veggie chimichanga. Tasted weird because there was broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower. Not something you would traditionally find in a burrito, even a veggie one. It was alright but failed to wow me. Service was not great either. I might have to skip this I’m the rotation

Plenty of choices for Mexican food in the area but this place is pretty good. Fast service. I tried the deluxe nachos to go. It was a good & a good portion size for under $ 10

We will definitely be back. I had Borrego which was a lamb dish. It was tender, flavorful, and delicious! My husband had Enchiladas de la Crème which was yummy as well. The service was friendly. I’m not sure why this place got low reviews unless their strength is in their unique dishes as we had. Our palate was rewarded for being adventurous.

My daughter and I go here all the time. We love the food. It’s hot and fresh. The wait staff are pleasant and helpful. You don’t have to pay extra for the beans and chips(Which amazes me at some places that you have to). Even the adult beverages are good. You can taste enough of the alcohol to know it’s in there, which I like.

Good for lunch. Friendly and fast. Been here several times. It’s not the best but it’s clean and tasty. I like steak picado the best but burritos and fajitas are good too.

I love Mexican food. I can eat it everyday. Not so much here, well ok, not at all. I ordered the steak fajitas and my husband ordered a combo of tamal and chimichanga(shredded beef). My husband is a little less experienced with Mexican food(he loves taco bell) so we go out to Mexican restaurants all of the time. My fajitas were so bland and dismal, I had a better time just looking out the window at the many people walking in and out of Radio Shack next door. My husband thought the tamal was ok and better than the chimichanga that had absolutely no crunch. Deep fried and no crunch? hmmmmm. His sprite had no fizz whatsoever. At one point the waitress decided to sweep the carpet right behind us. WHY? First you shouldn’t have carpet where your booths and tables are and you definitely should not sweep while your guests are eating. Needles to say since that was the only action I was getting because it was not coming from my plate, I just let her sweep and proceeded to drink my tasty water.

Eating here is like riding a Mexican rollercoaster and by that I mean it’s up and down and unpredictable, said the run-on sentence. One day good, next day not so much. I think they have new staff or a new cook. It’s very frustrating. Love the carnitas and few places do them better. But, the other dishes lack consistency and the last time the chicken was dry. I think we are moving on.

Delicious. Seriously the best refried beans I’ve EVER had. I always get the meal deal on the back of the menu. Does NOT accept Unilocal coupons at all

We have eaten at this restaurant on several occasions. The food has always been great and the service is as well. The staff is always pleasant and very helpful. My favorite dish there is the Pollo Ala Crema. I have tried this dish at other Mexican restaurants and have always been disappointed, but not at Los Cabos.

I’ve been searching for a good Mexican restaurant since we moved to the area. We have literally tried every place we can find and have had little success. This one was next on our list, and we are so happy — we finally found our place! The food is the American-style Mexican food, not necessarily the authentic style some folks seem to prefer. But this style of Mexican food is what I grew up loving, its perfect! We each had a margarita, and they were delicious! Definitely enjoyed the warm chips and refried beans and salsa they put on our table when we sat down. Two areas for improvement: The chips were not as good as some I’ve had at other restaurants(maybe they weren’t fresh?), and the margarita could have been stronger. Those are minor issues, because everything else was excellent, we will definitely be going back!

WARNING… they don’t take the $ 8 discount Unilocal coupon that they advertise. Do GOOD Mexican restaurants exist in this area? I went to this place with my sister because she and her husband said it was the best Mexican Food they have in Kent/Des Moines. So we were served chips and salsa. Salsa is 3 stars. It was good, but nothing special… and not really Mexican salsa… although made my Mexicans I assume. The chips I give 2 stars… something very commercial. Th I enjoy a wide variety of Mexican food… and I like it spicy! When I try a new Mexican place I always order what I call the Trinity… Hard taco, cheese enchilada, and chlie relleno! I feel if these items are decent then there is hope for the more complicated and savory Mexican dishes. Before ordering, I asked the waiter(owner) if the rellenos were made fresh or are they premade and refrigerated. He claimed they were fresh. So I placed my order. When the plate arrived it looked really good, except for over saucing of the relleno, and hardly any cheese on the beans. The cheese enchilada was ok. The enchilada sauce was bland and tasted as if from a can. at least it was edible. But again, nothing special. The hard taco with shredded beef can in a pre-formed taco shell similar to the ones at taco bell! it was horrible… A Mexican restaurant using such taco shells is unbelievable. Anyways, I took one bite and wanted to spit it out. The meat was stringy and tasted old. I did not eat anymore of this taco. The relleno was just a disaster. The owner assured me they were made fresh, but as I scrapped away the excel sauce, I saw something that just looked inedible. The batter of the relleno sort of disintegrated into the sauce and the chile was so stringy, mushy, black, and lacking enough cheese to call it «relleno» The texture reminded me of chile rellenos that were premade and microwaved. I took one bite of this disaster and had to spit it out. It was so bad. It tasted like it was sitting uncovered in the refrigerator for a long time. I pushed my plate at the end of the table, I was not going to eat this crap! The waiter came as asked if everything tasted ok, he looked at my plate, and I told him it was horrible. He did even ask what was wrong, and offered to bring me something else. I did want anything, but to save my sister from total embarrasement I ordered Pozole. Which was OK, I had better. When the check came, he charged us for the more expensive combo plate but did not charge us for the cheaper Pozole. Such bad restaurant management. My sister and her husband may return to this place but I will not.

Los Cabos beats Circo Circo by offering salsa and hot beans with their chips when you arrive vs the two types of salsas provided at the latter. However, that’s about as far as they go in eclipsing their rival. It’s a clean venue with warm orange Mexican themed décor. The staff is very friendly with fast service. I ordered the 2 chicken taco combo that comes with beans and rice and my co-worker got the Carne Asada combo. Not very impressed with my choice. The meat wasn’t very flavorful, drowned out with lots of iceberg sprinkled with a few chunks of tomato that made the taco shell soggy. I used the beans and rice to fill in for the lack in flavor but both sides are fairly salty. My partner says his was okay tasting, but he also noticed how salty the rice was. You could taste something akin to chicken bouillon in it. The prices were pretty average, too, in proportion to the size of the servings. Around $ 8 — 9. Maybe we’ll return, maybe not.

Quality food, good sized portions, fair prices. On my last visit, I ordered the special for the day — spicy steak picada($ 12.99) It came with refried beans, rice, corn tortillas and chips & salsa. All the food tasted fresh and the meat was spicy. The only con is that there were not enough tortillas; i had a lot of leftover meat even after stuffing my tortillas.

I have been wanting to try this place for some time. I used to go to the Fife location from time to time with coworkers but it eventually closed. I actually like this place better than the old Fife restaurant. The food was fresh and good, and I really took notice to the inside of the restaurant, it was much nicer. I will say the service was a little on the slow side, considering the restaurant was far from being packed. I ordered the Arroz con Pollo and was happy with it. The flavors were clean, the portion was large, and it showed up steaming hot. A good combination in my book.
