Azteca Taqueria

I live about half an hour from the Azteca Taqueria but it is more than worth the trip. The place looks pretty dumpy (honestly, it’s an old Taco Bell location) but the food is always fabulous!
My favorite meal is the 3 taco meal (pollo) for under $ 6. With some chips I can easily make two meals out of it. 3 small tacos with fresh salsa, hot sauce, beans and rice. Just thinking about them makes my mouth water.
Much better than any Azteca restaurant I’ve ever been to. I only with they’d franchise a little closer to my house, though that might be dangerous. ;)

My boyfriend says that the only real taquerias in Seattle are the kind on wheels, but I think that the Azteca Taqueria in Kent does a pretty good impersonation of one.
If you’re willing to travel out there (I’m something like ten miles from Kent but I still rarely, rarely, RARELY make my way over there) then the number three combo is worth it. A pollo asado burrito and a fish taco, rice and beans, and all the fresh salsa you can eat for like $ 6 is more than enough for lunch and enough to keep you full all day.
Standard taqueria fare like tortas, carne asada burritos, tacos al carbon, carnitas and combo plates are available and very reasonably priced. The staff are friendly (and are speaking more English than they did two years ago) and the service is fast.
