Panda Touch

Before you read further, you will want to know that Panda Touch offers seated massages at a kiosk within White Flint Mall. They are located on the lower level near the central elevators on the corridor leading to Lord & Taylor.
The masseurs who work here offer firm massages using accupressure and shiatsu-​type techniques. If you enjoy Thai massage or the types of massages offered at reflexology spas, you will likely be happy with a Panda Touch massage. Those expecting Swedish-​style techniques will be disappointed. If you have not had this type of massage before, it can be great for deep knots and temporarily releasing areas of chronic tension. The massuers at Panda Touch will start with fairly firm pressure and will quickly find areas of your back that need work. Using thumbs, knuckles, forearms, and elbows, they will then knead and press until they feel your muscles start to loosen. I always leave feeling pleasantly jello-​like. That said, I sometimes feel a little beat-​up or marginally sore (far less than having worked out) the next day. As someone with very tight neck and shoulder muscles, however, feeling a little sore is far preferable to the tension I would feel if not for these massages. If you’re weirded out by being on view in the middle of the mall, hopefully I can put you somewhat at ease. I have found that once I put my face into the padded massage chair, I feel anonymous. No one can see my face, and I can’t see anyone walking by.
Massages are done mostly on a first-​come-​first-​served basis by the one or two masseurs on duty. (Though I think they may take appointments.) You can choose the amount of time you would like to be massaged. On the kiosk is a list of suggest massages such as a 15 minute neck and shoulder massage or a 30 minute full body massage (full back & neck, some arms, hips, some calves). They are, however, amenable to adjusting the time and areas of focus. The cost is a little over $ 1 a minute. (I think I’ve been paying $ 32 for a half hour).
Last note: though Unilocal gives the hours as 9 – 5, the kiosk appears to be open whenever the mall is open.
