I love the grocery store. The pharmacy – I will never give them any business again. I work in a doctors office and I am familiar with how calling in prescriptions should work. It should be an easy process for the patient. More than a couple of times, I have called the automated line and refilled medications. I got the confirmation adivising that it would be ready on some date/time. I go to the pharmacy the next day or so and find out that they dont have it in stock; and won’t have it for 3 – 4 more days. Why wouldn’t they call a patient and let them knowthat so they could have the option of getting it somewhere else? Also – I had the same thing happen with another medication — called into the automated line to request a refill, got the automatic message saying it would be ready ithe following day. Went up there more than a week later to find out that«no – it needed prior authorization.» They said they faxed it to my doctors office 12 days ago and hadn’t heard back; I told them that IF they had told me – I could have been working on this 12 days ago and not at the last minute when I am out of the prescription. Not one time have they ever bothered to say they are sorry for the inconvenience, or tried to fix their broken system and try to improve their customer service. I guess they think they are the only phamacy around. I transfered my prescriptions to the Kroger up the street. By the way – Kroger does automatic refills and if they know you need a certain medication – they keep it in stock. I love kroger!!!

Publix is more high quality than your basic Kroger or other low priced food market. With that said, the staff is so helpful and friendly. The quality of the produce and meats are superb. This is a great Publix!

This Publix is a little more expensive than the Kroger down the street(i believe this is the case for most of the stores) but i go there mainly for the cheesecake and deli. The staff is very friendly and helpful and i can just go up to any of them if i have a question without being intimidated. Not that i get intimidated easily but just saying… Its clean but i wish they have a self checkout. I believe i have seen that at only one Publix(Smyrna location… Paces Ferry i think). Only reason why i go to Kroger instead of the Publix is for gas and Coke which is like 30 cents cheaper. I love coke but it can be an expensive habit especially if i finished a 12 pack in 3 days. :( Either way, i dont feel icky walking in there to either do hardcore grocery shopping or to get a sub from the Deli. And another plus, there’s a liquor store next door so i can grab a bottle of tequila to go with whatever mixer i get from there!!!
