This is a long review but we had an awful experience with highlights including: — Damaged oil painting due to the fact that it wasn’t packaged correctly — Pee on bathroom seat! The packer peed all over the seat and left that«treat» for us to clean up —GROSS — Lack of attention. The packers didn’t follow our one request to have some items labeled for immediate use I’m not even sure who to review since at different times I was talking with someone from Mayflower/Johnson/Security Van Lines. Let’s start from the beginning… ==Coordination== It seemed like no one at Mayflower/Johnson/Security Van Lines was talking to each other. ==Packing== This is the crux of all of our bad experiences with this move. Two packers were sent to our house for packing. It took them all day to get our relatively small apartment(about 800 square feet, no garage, basement, attic, etc) packed. In a previous move, we had the same amount of belongings, but that company sent out 4 people. Our stuff was packed and *on the truck* in about half a day. We really didn’t enjoy having to split the packing and loading over two days. It was uncomfortable and felt inefficient. Before the movers arrived, we set aside items that we wanted immediate access to at our destination. We did this because we knew that our belongings would be going into a storage unit and not into our next home right away. We tried to make it as dead simple as possible. We dedicated the kitchen closet to only those items. We told them, «Please pack the items in the kitchen closet together, and label them so that we know to open these first.» They said that they understood. At our destination, we pulled aside the boxes labeled kitchen closet as they came off the truck. We opened them later and found only about half of the items from the closet in those boxes! Who knows where the rest are? Since all the other boxes were loaded into the back of our storage unit, we now have no way to access those items. We only had two high value items for the move. We made sure to point out those items early on to the packers. One of the items was an oil painting. Upon opening the painting’s box at our destination, we found a highly visible white smudge marring the surface of the painting. Our driver was astounded that the packer had used white packing paper around the painting, and said it should never have been packed like that. This was incredibly disappointing. We are still in the process of getting the painting repaired. I dread to see what else the movers may have packed incorrectly like that when our belongings come out of storage. I’ll keep this part brief because it is disgusting. When one of the packers used our bathroom they peed all over the toilet seat and left used toilet paper on top of the seat. Now that shows some respect for my home! ==Delivery== Our stuff was delivered to a mini-storage facility. When the driver arrived, he and his three helpers(why couldn’t we get that many to pack us?) got right to work transferring our belongings from the truck to the storage unit. They were so eager, that they didn’t even ask us to check off the receipt of items as they were unloaded. It wasn’t until they were well into the process that we recalled that was part of the delivery for our last move. But by then it was too late; so much had already been packed into the storage unit. The driver was very helpful and sympathetic in dealing with the damaged painting on delivery. He also helped us inspect our TV which we feared might also have been packed incorrectly(luckily it wasn’t). When it came time to sign the paper work, the driver(who, again, in all other respects was excellent) just kind of said, «Well, you can trust me that we got it all in there.» Yeah, sure, I guess. What choice do I have at this point? We still don’t know if all our belongings made it. It will be another surprise once we move out of the storage unit. We also never received a full itemized list of our moved belongings. When we asked for the list, we were told that there were no copies for us. This seemed really strange — but again, what do you do? ==Conclusion== Pick someone else — not sure if anything could be worse
