It was surprisingly wonderful ! I had no expectations and I was extremely pleased from the warm greeting at the door to the lovely goodbyes. The food, service, singer and staff was awesome! Priced very fair. Okay. So that was awhile back;). I’ve been at least 3 times and they have been consistent. I haven’t been in a few years and I’m on my way now. I’m excited and hoping they have a singer tonight. It’s okay if not but hoping

My husband and I had a couple of wonderful visits and this last visit we will not be back. The owner is HORRIBLE and yells at the waitresses and the customers!!! We did like it here and then now we will not be back. Such a shame too because the food is wonderful but the chef is very very VERY unprofessional

The owner has no people skills!!! With reservations for the bar, after sitting for 25 minutes with water only, we were fine and waited patiently to be served. He rudely told us to leave or sit in the dining room, suggested fighting my husband and chased us out, ripping off apron and chef coat until I called 911. The guy is crazy and since, I have heard many other stories about him. I absolutely would not recommend it! No since putting yourself in harms way.

This is an excellent, old-style Italian restaurant. When I went for lunch, I was greeted by an elderly gentlemen who sat us and provided us with a menu as Italian opera played over the speakers. The menu has a decent variety to it. The same man took our order and appeared to go in the back to cook it… we were the only people in there at the time, so that probably isn’t the norm; however, I thought it was cool. About 20 min later he came back out with our food. It was fantastic. The veal, the pasta, the atmosphere… everything was great. We went back for dinner and there was a compete staff. The service and food was just as good. Great place to bring your family. Noise level was never high.

Nice little place, appears to be very authentic and food handmade from scratch. What I had was delicious however portions were very small for the price.

Made another trip a couple of weeks ago for a birthday dinner. Once again enjoyed the atmosphere and the fresh food. This place is awesome for«date night.» What made this night really awesome was the young man who sang Italian opera in the dining room. This was not some cheesy amateur, but a professional opera singer, and he was fantastic.(His name by the way was Kevin Rouchell). He came and went in the dining room, and his arias were beautiful and short enough to not in any way be a nuisance. He tackled some difficult material too and did a great job. The meal was made much more special by this young man’s singing. Truly remarkable. This place is a real Italian experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and has the feel of being in someone’s home. The menu doesn’t offer a ton of selection, but that just means the food you get is carefully prepared and extra tasty. Overall a wonderful birthday experience.

The wife and I dinned here on Valentine’s Night. The restaurant is an old house, so it is a little small, but well decorated. The staff was friendly and professional. There was even someone playing the accordion. The menu was limited for Valentine’s Day, but the food was very good. We had the grilled chicken and the pork loin. Both were well prepared and tasty. We will return when we can sample from the full menu.

It was Valentine’s Day and I called ahead to ask if we had to order the set Valentine’s menu(restaurants typically offer that and many times insist you order on such a special day) or if we could order off of the menu. Some allow that so I called to find that out. The older italian man on the phone could barely understand me which should’ve had me cross this place off of my list but I was excited to go after he said we could order whatever we wanted so I ignored it. Big mistake! We got there and they wanted us to order the $ 65/person Valentine’s menu. My boyfriend hates seafood and more than half of the stuff on there was seafood. Waste of our time and completely ruined our Valentine’s day since we walked out. Went home hungry and will have to celebrate it next week. Mind you even though we had a reservation it took them half an hour to seat us and then they took half an hour to ask what we wanted to drink and explained that we had to order their Valentine menu after talking to 3 people about it, including the old italian man. Never returning!

The ambiance and location of this charming Italian restaurant, located in River Town(in Kenner Bra), force me to use words I typically only use when describing a puppy or baby. This little gem is adorable, precious and amazingly cute. Italian is spoken by the staff, who just happen to be from Italy, and you get a completely authentic Italian experience. The one big downside to the complete authenticity is that they don’t serve American size portions and you will really need to get multiple courses to have an adequate meal. Recently at lunch I got the chicken Parmesan and it is the smallest serving of food I’ve ever had in the USA(but very European sized) as it was a very small chicken breast that came with maybe two tablespoons of pasta. Just my entrée and an iced tea cost $ 20 with tip and I was still very hungry after so to get full here you will have to plan on spending more. The other authentic challenge is that nothing is going to happen fast here and you need to get ready to take some time to enjoy your meal. If you’ve got time and don’t need to get back to work anytime soon and have some extra money to spend this could be a nice spot for lunch but most folks have tighter schedules and budgets these days so that makes lunch here challenging. Considering all of these factors dinner is probably the better choice for dining in this delightful spot. Overall the ambiance of this place is five stars but the prices and tiny portions really drive the value down when compared to all the other Italian restaurants in town. Pasta is very cheap so it really is inexplicable they don’t give you a better serving size. They definitely take the time to do things right and make quality food but its still at a premium that is bit too high for the out of NOLA location no matter how charming that location is. I would certainly return here occasionally for the charm but it definitely isn’t a spot I would ever be a regular at.

Excellent. Well worth the ride to Rivertown. Giacomo will deliver a splendid evening. Old New Orleans/Ital elegant ambiance. Great wine list. This is a family operated house and they seem to truly enjoy sharing their talents with their guests. They work hard to ensure our satisfaction and pleasure. The food is excellent but pricey. Portion size is sometimes too small, unusual for the N.O. area.

An unassuming, little house in the Rivertown neighborhood of Kenner conceals a wonderful little gem of a restaurant. Ristorante da Piero celebrates homestyle northern Italian fare with the passion of a homestyle Italian family business. After being warmly welcomed by the chef’s mother at the door, we were shown into a(very pink) dining room that could be described as old-style Southern with a little ancient flair. Service was wonderful and spot on throughout the meal, with the waitress bringing the courses on time while keeping our glasses unobtrusively filled. We got a simple bruschetta for our appetizer, and simple is how good bruschettas are done. Crunchy enough on the outside where you can just taste the grill marks, yet soft enough to gently yield to your teeth without spilling the generous topping of simple fresh tomatoes marinaded with garlic, salt, and good olive oil. My main dish was veal scallopini in a Marsala cream sauce. And what a sauce! Rich yet simple, the flavors were multilayered and served to add needed moisture to the veal. While the veal was just a touch overcooked, everything else on the plate more than compensated. The kale had a wonderful, natural flavor and crunch while I’ve never had more supple and tender green beans. While they were currently out of every dessert except spumoni, the ice cream had a good texture and flavor. Next time I’m back in New Orleans, I’ll be stopping there again.

One of the best kept secrets in Kenner! The food is as good as, if not better than any John Besh or Emeril restaurant in town. What a pleasant surprise of the added touch of a live opera singer right in the dining room… and done well, not cheesy. Kevin Rouchelle serenades the dining room with a solo every 15 minutes or so, and then provides you with a brief history of the opera piece he sang, making the whole experience richer and more intimate with other diners, like you’re all part of one family. We definitely will be back. You must try the veal Marsala, as well as the arugula salad with shrimp.

Ate here with my wife’s family to celebrate her mother’s birthday. The Rivertown area of Kenner is new to me but the re-gentrification project certainly seems to be well done and is visually inviting. The restaurant had a nice«neighborhood» feel to it from the outside. The interior was fairly elaborately decorated, hardwood floors, ornate mirrors and window treatments, and floral table linens with comfortable chairs, low incandescent lighting — great intimate atmosphere. The menu is northern Italian fare with some nice variety. The mussels appetizer was very tasty and generously portioned with a delicious broth/sauce. My brother in law ordered the duck, which was tender and not gamey at all. I had the rabbit and was very pleased with my choice. A few others tried somebof their signature pasta dishes and were not disappointed. The service was attentive without being overbearing. Our waiter was well-informed and gave us detailed explanations regarding about some of the dishes we inquired about. Entrees ranged from $ 14 to $ 25 and were well worth the price. Definitely planning a return visit.
