The roast beef is perfectly cooked and the gravy is good as well. The sandwich however as a few construction flaws in my opinion. The bread is soft and chewy. I prefer crispy as such with Liedenheimer. When it was served, the gravy had totally soaked the bottom bread, which I know is part of the allure. I would agree if it was intended to be served open faced. The soaked bottom bread made picking up the sandwich very akward. The top bread was in good shape. I managed to flip the sandwich over which allowed a more favorable eating experience. Seems like they short changed me in the quantity of meat compared to Parkway or Bears. Aside from this, pretty good sandwhich.

It kills me to write this review, because the Metairie location has always provided great food and great service. This location seems to be severely lacking in the latter. The food is good. My eggplant poboy was great. Husband’s ½ catfish dinner was okay. My daughter liked the cheese pizza and it was only $ 4.99, so that’s a win. The service? Leaves a lot to be desired. We decided to dine in. The wait to order wasn’t too bad. They gave us a number and we waited to be called. It took about 20 minutes, which I expected given that my daughter ordered a pizza. Unfortunately, the first thing they brought out was an eggplant stick appetizer, which we didn’t order. I gladly would have eaten it anyway, but they apologized and took it away. Next to arrive was the catfish plate. Another 5 mins later, we received the pizza and the eggplant poboy. There was supposed to be an order of onion rings with that, but I decided to be polite and wait, since obviously the food wasn’t coming out at all at the same time anyway. By the time I was finished the poboy, I tracked down the server and she said she would bring some out. They finally arrived and were pretty good. Throughout the meal, we got to watch as multiple other orders(both dine-in and takeout) were incorrect and sent back. There seem to be some major issues with keeping track of what is ordered & what is sent out. It also took about 10 mins just to get a to-go box for the leftover pizza. I would think that with a very successful store under their belt in Metairie, it wouldn’t have taken this long to work out basic issues like getting an order correct & good customer service.

I got a roast beef poboy on half French with onion rings and a drink(combo).($ 13) It was good but small and overpriced. I usually take pictures as you can see from my other reviews whenever I eat at a place. That little poboy was so pretty and nicely served. But it was so small and itty-bitty that when my phone fully turned on. It was all gone! The place is very clean, spacious and has ample parking. The food came out quick. The downside, those onions rings weren’t fresh but the remoulade sauce was excellent. I don’t mind paying $ 12 for a poboy but as long as you get your money’s worth. Basically I bought an upsold 5″ poboy(which is slightly underhanded) They sell it as a «combo» but you’re only getting a side item. They charge extra if plan on washing it down with a drink. They also hit you up if you want anything other than the meat and bread. Basically you’re paying for the rent. In the CBD you can getaway with a place like this– not in Kenner. I doubt their longevity and customer loyalty. It just didn’t rank as my «place of choice» for a poboy.(especially in Kenner) You can go North, South, East or West from this place a better poboy for a better price in less than 2 miles.(just not at a nice place)

Sandwich was really good. Got the J&M special. Roast beef, ham and Swiss. Gave a 4 because it could have used a little more roast beef and gravy. Also the price can add up and it can be an expensive lunch for a sandwich. $ 15 for sandwich, cup of soup, and drink.

Once again I decided to stop at Parran’s because I love their Shrimp Diane. However, today I noticed it was Shrimp Diane and Crawfish and it is now $ 14.95. Shrimp Diane when purchased with shrimp only was $ 12.50 and that was a few weeks ago. I am not crazy about crawfish in dishes(I only like boiled crawfish) so I asked for Shrimp Diane sans crawfish and was told $ 14.95. I asked when did the price go up as I purchased it a few weeks ago at $ 12.50. The cashier was clueless and I then asked a woman who was doing some type of inventory and she told me she wasn’t aware of any price increase, but she would check with some gentleman when he came in(like that was going to help me at that moment!) I am once again disappointed that I am dealing with people who are clueless. You would think they would be better informed and run their business a little better. The only reason from this point on I may go back is to purchase a roast beef which I understand is supposed to be really good. I will not be getting anymore dinner plates from there at those prices. Their food is tasty, but very overpriced for the quantity and pricing in general. Pricing like that is to be found in franchise places such as Olive Garden, Zeas, Copelands, etc. and dinner pricing at that. Parran’s has a very limited menu to begin with and not the friendliest or most knowledgeable staff around. They would have been better off not opening up if they couldn’t keep the same standards that people have come to expect from them.

If it wasn’t for the fried pickles they would deserve no stars at all. I ordered a shrimp poboy for pickup and it was in fact ready, but after I get back from driving home, once I pick up my shrimp poboy I notice a few pieces of dark brown lettuce hanging down from my sandwich. Expected better from here and was truly disappointed.

Maybe The Best Roast Beef Po Boy in Kenner Stopped here for a roast beef po boy having tried them at their Metairie location before. This is perhaps the best roast beef po boy in Kenner area with fresh homemade roast beef and gravy. My side was potato salad which was mediocre in taste. Service was good and my visit was around 5 pm when most were traveling home and they weren’t busy.

This review pains me to write. I really have enjoyed the original location for years but this one needs some serious work. They’ve been open for less than a year so maybe they still have some kinks to work out. The counter service is similar to the Veterans location. You place your order, find a table then someone comes out screaming your number then brings you your food. The problem is the place is large and when they are busy, you can’t hear. If you sit by the waitress station, then be prepared to have someone screaming as they come out the kitchen door. Annoying. They need to invest in those number stands so the waitress just brings the food to your table when she sees your number. My party was large but we had 4 different orders so the food came out in waves. That’s to be expected but food from the same order should come out at the same time. My kids received their food and were finished by the time I got mine. Unacceptable, I paid for all 3 meals on the same ticket and we came to eat together. My J and M special as the call it(usually called a Ferdi in other places) is my go to po-boy at Parran’s on Vets. It’s roast beef, ham and swiss. The problem with mine(besides them putting mayo when I requested none and the receipt said as such) was that the roast beef was hot and the ham and cheese were ice cold. Makes zero sense. If it’s supposed to be a hot sandwich then it all should be hot. My daughters shrimp po boy was really good however. The shrimp were fried to perfection and well seasoned. The other people in my party all had issues with their food. My girlfriend’s roast beef was cold. Her daughter’s food chicken tenders didn’t come out until we were leaving and she had to eat them in the car. My dad had the same issue as I did with his po-boy and the spaghetti plate one of the kids got had very little marinara. The fried pickles and onion rings were great however. They have some serious issues in the kitchen and management department. They seem to do well on their fried items but struggle everywhere else. I may give them another shot in the distant future but for now I’ll stick with the O.G. location

I grew up in Metairie eating at Parrans. Was super excited to hear of the new location cause I work in Kenner. Have visited the new location 5 times. Every meal was awesome. Staff always friendly just like the original location. Highly recommend. Try the blackened chicken poboy. It’s my favorite.

Food was very bland. Space is too big for a «poboy place». Customers and employees had to keep their coats on because the heater was not on even though it’s 40 degrees outside. There has to be a better way to deliver food, the waitress SCREAMED out the number on your receipt and was very rude about it. Drinks are self service which makes it confusing whether or not you are supposed to tip. Just go down the street to Copelands, or Kenner seafood and don’t waste time or money here.

Awful. Twice got served a sandwich with very little meat. The 1st time I let it go. When I complained after the 2nd time I was told«That’s just how the sandwich comes». So sad, they would rather loose a customer and risk a bad review rather than add a few slices of meat. The waitress came over to apologize and said that this kind of thing was happening often. She also said she would tell the owner when he came in. I don’t see how they can remain open with this kind of attitude.

This was a call-in/to go order. I had to spell«oyster» so she could take my order(really). The poboy was not very good. I love oyster poboys and I’m pretty easy to please. And I understand that take out won’t be as fresh and crisp as dine-in. But this was just not good. I think the grease was old and the oyster batter had no flavoring at all – nothing. So… the taste was somewhere between«no taste» and«old grease taste». Gotta try hard to screw up an oyster poboy. Congratulations.

First off the food was not good at all. The Gumbo was not what I thought it was gone be. I had the chicken and sausage gumbo. I was looking for the chicken and sausage, and there was none in it. And the half of roast beef sandwich was sloppy and not what I thought it was gone be. But this what killed me though, the prices looked alright, but when I got there the price was sky high. It went from $ 7.95 to $ 11.80 real quick. They charge me $ 1.95 extra for a gumbo when I thought it was a combo, .35 cents for my sandwich to be dress my sandwich when you shouldn’t be charge for that. What’s a sandwich without it being dressed. .35 cents for cheese, .25 cents for a to go container when they could have rapped the sandwich up and put it and the gumbo in the bag. And .95 cents tax. I don’t know what to say about Parran’s. I don’t think I’m going to them anymore.
