What happened to this place? Our waiter suggested crab & spinach artichoke dip so we tried it– super«fishy» taste which I didn’t care for… I thought they offered bread years ago but I could be wrong about this. No bread or anything while waiting for your food. Then our entire order was screwed up. From ordering a split wedge salad and getting a house salad to ordering salmon and getting snapper(how could you screw this up? Lol) Our sides were blah– crab risotto(eh) and French style green beans with no flavor. We waited forever for our waiter to return with our ticket– he never showed(not like it was even remotely busy– this was a Tuesday afternoon) so my fiancé got the manager– I believe his name was Chris. My fiancé also explained about our food and he was super apologetic and comped part of our meal. Even though the manager«made good» on correcting the issue, it was a bad dining experience, on our anniversary nonetheless, and we will not be returning.

Old carpet, kind of run down looking, elevator broke while we were there, a bit higher prices than I prefer. I will probably not come here again, unfortunately. Beautiful view and nice servers. Bathrooms were clean.

Nice setting. Good food. I had the blackened mahi-mahi and enjoyed it as well as the calamari appetizer. The only problem was getting 1 of 3 orders wrong, so 1 got to watch 2 eat.

I loved this restaurant! We were seated upstairs, there was a nice sized bar and an outside patio area. It was very clean. Loved sipping a glass of wine with my husband while enjoying the view around me. Viewing the Gulf coast and watching people enjoy the rides made for a fun yet relaxing atmosphere. The food was well prepared and presentation was great. I would love to go back. On our way out we watch someone juggle fire. It was so much fun.

Great atmosphere but the server could have been a little better. The lunch menu seemed simple but excluded a lot of description as far as tastes and sides. I ended up picking something from the seasonal menu because it was more descriptive. Nice presentation on the duck; however, the flavor was lacking a bit and could have been a bit more tender.

Good food, that never disappoints us here. We love the patio and looking at the ocean on Friday nights. Did not get a perfect 5 star though as service has been a little rough the last 2 visits. Servers are either not trained properly on the menu or they have been slow from the start.

It’s a beautiful place, lovely atmosphere, impeccable sevice. My Mule was heavenly! ! But I would have to rate the food as OK. It was good, large portions and served hot, but nothing was a real stand out. All the bread we were served was not tasty at all. I think we would go back.

Not dog friendly on patio– but dogs allowed on smoker’s patio. Mediocre food. Weird rule. We were allowed to bring the sweet pup with us onto the smoker’s side of the patio only. Gumbo was ok. Would not recommend the stuffed mushrooms. Nice servers.

My husband, two kids and I went there last weekend. It was pretty busy but that’s to expect on a Saturday so we were okay with the wait. Our server was very nice and helpful, could have been a bit faster tho. Our food was good, my daughter and son shared a filet mignon they both absolutely love it! My daughter also ordered some chicken soup and says it was good. Husband got New York steak and says it was very good. I got salmon and I like it although I think it was a bit salty I wanted to get bread pudding and they didn’t have it bummer grrr!

This feels more like a tourist place to go rather than for the food. Everything was okay but EXCEPTIONAL service! Food: I feel like they focus on the portion, not too much of the quality. I only finished 1⁄3 of my po boy sandwich which was okay. The shrimp was small and not so fresh. Nothing fried on my plate was crispy, which was dissapointing. Peach sangria was pretty light and refreshing. I wish they could have some light beers on tap instead of bottles only. Price: definitely priced for a spot on the crowded boardwalk. Service: Nate — our waiter was very pleasant and helpful. He was the reason why I left a good tip although the food didn’t impress me in any way. Overall, I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back again but I hope Nate gets some kind of encouragement for offering such an excellent service!

Nice clean restaurant with a beautiful view but more pricy than usually, food came out perfectly, service was kind of slow and we were overcharged on our menu but thankfully I caught it in time, menu is very extensive with your usually cajun dishes, grilled fish and shrimp

I brought my out of town friends to Landry’s for lunch on a Friday. We ordered drinks, salads, and meals. Our waiter was friendly and sought answers to our questions. Salads and then dinner came before our drinks. In our salad, which was very tasty, was the stem of the leaf lettuce head. I was not pleased with the lack of pride this suggested. The manager came to our table, saw the stem of the lettuce on a plate, and promptly asked how our entrees were! That was also disappointing that he didn’t acknowledge the lack of care from the salad. If there were more attention to the details this would be a great place. The food was very good though.

Of course, Whenever u run into a seafood restaurant, it can never be cheap. Flounder with crab meat stuffing: loved the stuffing! I can taste the freshness of the crab meat. The flounder was too salty. The amount of butter used was over powering the fish and the portion was small. The baked oyster stuffed with spinach is a great start. Don’t forget the tobasco sauce! Those are my two favorite dishes out of 7.

I have always enjoyed Landry’s. They have consistently good food and service. We had a city pass which came with a free appetizer, we got a seafood stuffed mushroom dish. For our entrée we had the seafood gumbo, a burger and a fried fish sandwich. They came out quickly given how busy they were this 4th of july. The gumbo roux was a little bit burned, but wasn’t too bothersome. Everything else tasted great.

Our party of 21 decided to stop in for a bite to eat after celebrating a birthday on the Boardwalk. They advised us of a 2 hour wait and gave us a pager. We played games on the Boardwalk and waited to be paged. They finally paged us after 2 hours, but then told us it was a mistake and they meant to page another group. So, we had to wait another 45 minutes. The manager told us that they usually don’t accommodate parties this large without an advanced arrangement. However, that policy was not listed on their menus. Well, after being seated at two different tables, we had to wait 10 minutes and eventually ask for the complimentary bread baskets that other tables were given. Overall, the food was just okay. The special order of pasta w/out chicken fettucini had to be sent back because they left off the tomato and mushrooms. The $ 19 blackened chicken and fettucini pasta was a small portion, extremely bland, and not too creamy. I asked for a side of the seasoning they used to blackened the chicken and mixed it into my fettucini. Oh my goodness, it was so good! They should really consider serving the dish the way I added the seasoning. My aunt ordered the fried $ 26 seafood platter and said the fish was season good, but they left off her oysters. She notified the waiter and they brought it out to her. One of the waitresses accidentally dropped and broke a plate. I thought it was rather chauvinistic of the elderly general manager to turn his head the other way and not offer to help her pick up the pieces. The wait staff in general all seemed in a hurry and made the whole experience feel like a sit down fast food place as oppose to a nice relaxing restaurant on the Boardwalk to watch the yachts sail by. I guess it’s obvious, that I doubt very seriously if I’ll get in a hurry to visit Landry’s on the Boardwalk again.

Dear Manager Neff, I wish you well in your pursuits because I won’t be spending any money at your establishment!!! Service & Tyler are inexcusably poor!!! Me & my beau waited for nearly 15 minutes to only make a drink order. We had to leave with dignity even after complimentary items were offered. The entire Landry’s Group, where we frequently dine will immediately cease. To be blunt, we frequently dine out & our absence will be noticed…

We sat outside for lunch and had a fantastic view of the bay as well as all the boats that drove past. I’d recommend the seafood platter. Delicious!!! Gives you a taste of shrimp cooked three ways, blue crab, fresh fish, and a quarter head of broccoli.

We came on a weekday for an early(11:15AM) lunch, so things were not busy at all. After I requested the best table to see the boats(for my son!), the hostess promptly led us to her favorite table in the house, which was on the lower level corner facing the ocean. It was a roomy exterior, plenty of area for the kids to move around(and park the stroller), and a gorgeous view. We had an excellent view of the Boardwalk Beast and several other speedboats, yachts, and jettys propelling out into the deep waters. We ordered(between the 6 of us) IPA fish and chips, lemon peppered redfish with the crab meat toppings, mahi mahi with the crescent city topping(shrimp), and the fried fish(flounder). I usually love the redfish for its distinct taste, softness, and tenderness. While their redfish was seasoned well and was a considerably large portion, it was a little dry. It could have been softer and more tender. The mahi mahi was good, but the crescent topping was much better than the actual fish. The fish and chips were flaky, tender, and the beer batter was very tasty. However, the batter was slightly overpowering the excellent taste of the fish itself. The onion straws and banana chips were a nice touch. However, they had so much on the plate that I think they scrimped out on the actual fish and chips. Contrary to some of the reviews, I felt that our server was well-versed in the menu, professional, and communicated with us well. He was attentive, although he may have forgotten to bring one or two items. Overall, it’s not a bad place, but there are some areas which could be improved — the salad could be much fresher and more exciting(come with some other alternatives to just an ordinary house salad).

Great food, service and views of boats. Shrimp platter was awesome and they even let me substitute a one shrimp dish for another. Wonderful service from our waiter. Fantastic ambiance with the sail boats in front of the windows of the restaurant. I called two days ahead to make the reservation and they gave me the specific table I asked for– good job guys. The best table in the place is a table for 10 in the corner. You have fantastic views of the water and boats going in and out.

There are some less than stellar reviews of Landry’s and indeed being located along the Kemah Boardwalk area, a touristy shore where the Houston/Galveston crowd come to party and play, I wouldn’t have expected much. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by the beautiful view of the waterway, some really attentive friendly service, some pretty good oysters Rockefeller and a really good crawfish étouffée. I may have hit it just right on a weekday without any crowds, but I really couldn’t have asked for much better in the line of fresh seafood as well as service. The seats are comfortable and though it has both an indoor and an outdoor seating, the threatening overly aggressive dive bombing seagulls prompted my decision to sit indoors. I did note that one of the seagulls did manage to score a direct hit upon one of the outdoor patrons, so beware. Seagull poop splattered onto long hair makes for a unsightly though I thought a rather hilariously funny mess. The menu is also wide ranging as well as extensive with some 13 choices of shrimp and shellfish, 6 pastas, around 18 small plates, three«from the kettle» being a chowder, a bisque and a gumbo, a check off list of about 9 fresh fish, some signature and daily specials, choices in meat and fowl, burgers, sides and various toppings. All in all, a menu I would consider as wide ranging, well balanced and complete.
