We were there last summer and was our first time. The food was awesome and delicious! We felt like we were in the Philippines with the food that we ordered. The prices were OK. I just hope they make the place more decent. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Food is awesome and reasonably priced. Range of different flavors and all are great. Portion sizes are rather large, you’ll get a lot of food. Service is a little slow to get the food but staff is very friendly. I really think it is a must try.

Service staff at this restaurant were very friendly and accommodating. The server we had knew the menu and was able to offer recommendations on what our family would like. The food here is excellent. I would personally go out on a limb and say I enjoyed their Loco Moco more than the what I had in Oahu and the Rainbow Drive-In. The Loco Moco’s burger patties were very meaty and gravy was rich. They perfectly fried the egg and made sure it’s yolk still oozed out over the rice. The garlic shrimp dish was a pleasant surprise with a very garlicky«almost» gravy like sauce with mushrooms that was totally awesome over steamed rice. We also had a sour pork soup that was very good. The only warning I would have for anyone eating at this place is that the portions were huge. Our family of four did not even finish half of the food we ordered. So you should either come hungry, order less and share, or be prepared to take a lot of food home. Personally for me, I’d still order more and take the extra home. The food is just that good.

Lumpia and pansit bihon are always a fave of ours. Ordered the pansit palabok once but the food coloring is a bit too bright. FYI: Pansit or pansit are noodles. Get just dessert and order turon or halo halo. If you’re dining solo, you’ll have leftovers for dinner or lunch the next day. Don’t come if you’re short on time. Service is slow even when I call my order ahead of time. There seems to be a new server every time I go but since they’re the only Filipino restaurant in the Keller area, I will keep coming back.

Small restaurant. I must be coming at off times. The two times I’ve been here, its been pretty empty, 2 – 3 occupied tables. Today, the table I was seated at was pretty dirty still. They had attempted to wipe it, but did not do a good job, and using a dirty towel too that I noticed on a side table waiting. There was still food smeared on the table and I can see the smear streaks. I love the teriyaki pork. I had that last time and wanted to try the beef today, but they were out of beef? what??? How can you be out of beef? The teriyaki pork today was not that good. Why? Because it was burnt to a crisp! the pork pieces were so badly burnt, I ended cutting ¼ of the meat off and tried to savor the rest. However. This dish is good because of the teriyaki sauce it is marinated in and on the side. It is made in house there. My husband had the adobo the first visit. It was good. like a beef stew. But not as good as my teriyaki pork! Rice– should not be hard to make. It is one of the poorer quality rice/not well made I’ve had at a restaurant. Very dry, very! Although after today with the burnt pork, it may deter me from coming here again for a while. The drive is a bit of a ways from me too. I was also sad they didn’t have spam musubi here. It’s a pretty common Hawaiian dish and very simple to make. Just imagine… Spam musubi with their teriyaki sauce! YUM!!!

For those of you who know me I love Filipino food and in Dallas there is no good place… Till now. I have to be honest was not expecting much from this place. And I have to admit was really surprised. This little place in in a strip mall and looks shabby from the outside but trust me you need to give this place a chance First. Staff is great. And very helpful so if you are u sure what to eat they are more than willing to help you. Place is clean but small. As for the food. It was yummy. We got the fried pork and was not disappointed and just a note the portions are big so either come hungry or being friends. Not like Hawaii but a really good second,

I’ve been to Mabuhay many times as my wife is Filipina and this is the closest(only?) place. We’ve dined in, and had carry out. It’s really not too bad as just a family restaurant. There are several problems however that prevent a higher rating. They almost always don’t have whatever we order. It’s essentially the only restaurant I frequent where that happens. The taste of the food, and the service, in my opinion, are average, except for the very outstanding Maui dirty rice. Lumpia, which should be a simple staple, is always burnt and bland. It takes a very long time to get the food, perhaps as much as 40 minutes on our most recent visit. The prices are quite high for the quality but this is somewhat compensated for by the generous portions.

YES!!! Every time I visit(parents are here) I try my best to find something new and different. With the mix of cultures in this metroplex that shouldn’t be hard, but certainly can be. This place was FANTASTIC and you get way more food then you’d expect for the price. Those two things usually don’t come together. This place is on my official short list of places to return to! Thank you for making me happy today!

If you are not open minded to new foods or expect Chinese takeout flavors, Filipino food is not for you, and I’m guessing that’s partly why some of the reviews are as they are. Pros: –The Halo Halo is delicious. My fave thing to get there –Lumpia comes out fresh and hot(white folks: this is the app to order if you don’t know what to get) –Family style portions are huge Cons: –the service is *s l o w*. Waiters have forgotten to put in some of my dish orders and then don’t come back around until it’s too late to correct it(ano ka ba?!) All in all, Mabuhay is a pretty good filipino joint to visit. I defi go there when I’m feeling too lazy to cook myself or need a halo halo tune up. They just need to address their service issues and I would bump it up to a 4 star

Finally visited this restaurant after driving by it multiple times on my visits to Kroger’s grocery store, Lowes, Walmart…(Interpretation: In a strip center, easily overlooked.) Not crowded, but should be — server was honest(Coke was out and spurted, and that’s just how she explained it), attentive and pleasant; food was fresh and MORE than ample for the price; no annoying background music playing table settings were comfortable and visually pleasing. Did not know what to expect since I’ve never eaten Hawaiian nor Philippine food, but my military husband was comfortable with the menu and immediately found a dish that called his name and a memory: Loco Moco — rice, gravy, 2 hamburger patties and over easy eggs on top. It was brought with extra rice, so I sampled the gravy(not normally a gravy fan) with some rice and it was tasty — really tasty. My Siligang pork arrived about 5 min later(okay with me — menu clearly states could take 20 min for your food since it’s prepared fresh) and I almost choked when she put the bowl on the table. In fact, I asked if someone else was joining us — it was like Phở on steroids without all the noodles(carbs). If I was in weight watching mode, I’d have been all over this much sooner. I chose it from the menu because A) it’s pork, and I’ve found those with an Asia continent ethnic background or cooking method are much better with pork than most, and B) it said sour broth and vegetables. Love veggies, don’t love sweet = good food. :) There was so much pork in the soup I felt guilty eating it; they could have charged way more than I paid for that much protein. Appropriate leftover containers were provided, including something for the soup. I just hope more will discover this gem before the location makes it a «gem disappeared.»

The glowing reviews sold me on trying the place. My husband got takeout for me — Teriyaki Beef and Fried Bananas for dessert. Teriyaki beef was tender, but flavor wasn’t what I was expecting so I probably won’t order it again. Fried bananas tasted a little burnt and they forgot the ice cream :( I might come back and try the pancit palabok that everyone’s talking about… Looks interesting and I’ve never had Filipino food before… also the grilled chicken and pineapple sounds good too.

This was my first time dining in at a Filipino restaurant. This staff was very nice. The portions are huge! the loco moco and the adobe chicken were really delicious. I would definitely be back to try more.

Crispy pata is crispy but there’s some weird taste in the meat. I think it’s not fresh anymore prior to frying. Pinakbet is too watery and missing a key ingredient: squash! Kare-kare’s sauce is too thin. I will not return. My 2 stars are for the server and the ambiance. 0 for the food. I am so disappointed.

1 star for value(huge family-style portions) 1 star for seemingly from-scratch, homemade dishes 1 star for providing the area with a unique niche of cuisine Ordered the lumpia, Maui fried rice with sausage, and the special of the day Sari Sari. I would definitely get the lumpia again. It was similar to what my filipino friends have made me but possibly with more vegetables than I’m used to(potato??). The fried rice wasn’t mind blowing, but I was craving fried rice so it hit the spot. The Sari Sari was the only thing I’m still not sure about. It reminded me a little bit of some of the Burmese food my grandma makes, but less flavorful. Also didn’t love finding huge chunks of pork fat in it. I love pork fat, but not exactly swimming in my vegetables. I would eat here again and be open to trying other dishes the employees recommend.

I really enjoyed this Filipino/Hawaiian fusion! Of course, nothing will ever be as good as mama’s cooking(my true mabuhay, or home) but this will work. The options are plentiful here. Menu is split into 2 for Hawaiian or Filipino. We ordered pancit to go for a birthday party we attended that night. The staff were all super friendly while we waited and the atmosphere is chill; Marley on the radio. When we got our food I was pleasantly surprised to see that the helpings were huge and came with rice– sweet! The pancit was delish and definitely a crowd pleaser. Hints of lime perfectly adorned the dish. I recommend. But honestly, I can’t wait to return and try everything else!

The food here is always great. The wait time for food is much better. The portions you get are huge. My favorites at this place is the Crispy Pata, Whole fried fish and Maui fried rice with Portuguese sausage. I hold the pineapple with fried rice when I order. Also the fried pork belly is great along with their short ribs. A must try if you live in this area.

Happened to be in the area running errands when we stumbled across this restaurant. I personally have never had Filipino nor Hawaiian food so the good reviews coupled with my desire to try something new brought me to this place. We, like most people coming to this restaurant, had no idea what to order as most of the dishes were unfamiliar. The waitress was very helpful with this as she laid out the top 3 Hawaiian dishes, the top 3 Filipino dishes, and the top 3 dishes overall in the restaurant(pretty helpful right?). I wish I could remember everything she said but we opted for two Filipino dishes: the adobo and the pansit bihon(which she said was the most popular dish in the restaurant). The pricing on the dishes is pretty fair as everything is family style. You could easily share one dish and end up leaving with a full stomach. The wait time on our meal was pretty reasonable(I guess the more complicated dishes tend to take longer). Of the two dishes we ordered the adobo was my favorite. It was a very simple dish but still very tasty and hearty. The meat(which I beleive was pork) was a little fatty for my personal taste because really don’t like the texture of animal fast in my mouth. So I had the check every bite to make sure there wasn’t too much fat on my fork. The pansit bihon was an interesting dish. Essentially it’s stir fry vermicelli with pork, shrimp, and chicken and veggies(celery, onion, carrots, cabbage). I enjoyed the flavor but I would have preferred better quality or more larger pieces of meat. All of the meat in the dish was tiny/bite size. But it was still pretty good. If I came back though, I probably wouldn’t order it again. Overall I enjoyed this restaurant and would come back to try more of their dishes. The service was great, the food was good, and the cost is fair considering the portion size.

I have been here three times, and I simply love this place. They serve huge portions of food — enough for two meals for most — and their food tastes amazing. I had Hawaiian food before, but never had Phillipino food until I tried this place. That’s why I tried to order from the Phillipino menu whenever I have been to this place. Things I have tried so far: 1. Papaya Chicken — huge portions, lots of chicken, served on a SERVINGTRAY(or what looked like one) with unlimited rice(even though I don’t really like rice that much, but for rice-lovers, a big plus), full of flavors. 2. Pritong Tilapia — Two medium sized deep-fried Tilapia. Even though it was deep fried, I didn’t feel too guilty as this dish was the bomb. Crunchy on the outside, but soft and flavorful on the inside. Served with a side salad and unlimited rice. 3. Adobo Chicken — Let’s just say that this was so good that I ordered it twice(usually I don’t order the same food twice as I want to try out as many items on the menu as possible). Also, I liked it so much that I went home and tried to make it from a recipe I found online. 4. Seafood Laksa — I didn’t really care for this dish. The soup didn’t have too much flavor, and was kinda bland if you ask me, and I don’t do spicy food at all. 5. Loco Moco — I did end up trying one Hawaiian dish. Again, the portion size was huge. The gravy was tasty, and burger patties were perfectly cooked. So were the eggs. Maybe not the best Loco Moco I have ever had, but comes close to being the best. 6. Halo Halo — This dessert was a bit of a disappointment. Other than the top part which had icecream, the shaved ice tasted like crushed ice from your fridge. I had high hopes for this dessert. As for the people who work here, they seemed extremely nice. They were willing to explain the items on the menu and were very patient.

I knew I was in the right place as soon as I walked into the restaurant because there were several tables of women speaking Tagalog. There is just one thing to note, this is family style dining, so don’t be surprised by the huge serving portions. Everything we ordered was what we expected and I mean this in the best possible way. I always expect Filipino food to be good and this place did not disappoint. From the Sinigang, the Lechon and Kare Kare, it was all homemade goodness! I would’ve given Mabuhay five stars, but I wouldn’t want to get on my mom’s bad side. ;-)

We were greeted right when we walked in the door. Due to the size of the restaurant we had to wait for a table to be cleaned before we could be seated. After a little time looking over the menu Tabitha took our order. The food came out hot and fresh. The Lumpia was really good. The portion size here is huge! You should seriously consider family style and not order something for each person. After dinner we asked for a menu for desert, but once we found some items we wanted and went to place our order we were then told that each of the 3 things we wanted they were out of. Very authentic food by what I can tell. Everything made fresh. They don’t have much competition and will probably do very well.
