Ate here once so far with some friends who live down the street in Kauneonga Lake; they kept telling us how good it was so I had to try it out. We shared a massive Sushi/​Sashimi platter and a few sushi rolls on the side. We all had beer or cocktails, which were served promptly. All the fish was exceptionally fresh (astonishing for Sullivan county, few places up here manage that with any dependability) and the rolls were both creative and delicious.
As someone who’s eaten sushi in Japan, I’d say this is more of a fusion sushi experience than traditional sushi. But of course, that’s certainly no drawback; it still tasted amazing.
The place has an upscale bar-​restaurant feel, and looks out on a nice lake view.

Earlier this summer on a drive South from Syracuse, we were in search of a good lunch spot. We were willing to venture off of Route 17, and didn’t have to go far to end up at Lakeside 55. Thank you Unilocal for pointing us towards this restaurant.
The owner/​manager greeted us, and we got a nice seat outside, overlooking the lake. Neither of us were in the mood for seafood. I had the steak sandwich and my companion had the portobello mushroom sandwich. Both were to our liking. On a random Tuesday afternoon the place was not packed. Which made it easy for our waiter to pay close attention to our needs. Definitely give this place a shot!

This is the best place in Bethel if not Sullivan County. Food is excellent, service superior and the location is great. Right on Kauneonga Lake. So relaxing to dine there on the water. Great steaks, meatloaf, and other specials, sushi is wonderful. Randy is a great host and runs a special place. If you are in Sullivan County, this is the place to eat.
