Philly Cheese Steaks in Katy!!! Yay! This place is great. They have the real Philly bread rolls shipped in from Amoroso’s in Philly. Makes such a difference! We had Philly cheesesteaks with onions and extra provolone cheese. My husband is a connoisseur and he gives this place 5 stars! I also love the Boyland Grape Soda they have in the bottle.

My first time here and it wasn’t too bad. I’m a big foodie and figured I’d give this place a shot. Walked in and was immediately greeted. Ordered a philly steak and fries to go. It was about $ 10 and the size of fries and sandwich could easily be shared with someone else. Food was piping hot but the fries could have been cooked longer for more golden brown fries, they were a little pale. The bread was really soft do that was a plus! But the steak and peppers were a little on the bland side, could use a bit more seasoning but overall not bad for the amount of food you get for the price. Staff was friendly and everyone thanked me as I left. I may return if I’m in the mood for a cheesesteak sandwich since it’s literally a half a mile from my house and it honestly wasn’t that bad just could be more seasoned.

Have a picky Pennsylvania born husband who thinks this is the best cheese steaks. Everything Philly! Owners are warm and friendly! Will visit many times in the future!

Nothing Philly Tasting about this place, slow slow service and the Cheesesteaks mediocre

There’s nothing wrong with this place except for the fact that the Philly cheesesteaks are not memorable at all. I got one with peppers and spilt it with my husband because they are rather large. The meat immediately started falling out of the bread and was greasy because liquid was continuously dripping out and making my bread soggy. The flavor was ok, but not great either. It just wasn’t the experience we were hoping to get from a place that specializes in cheesesteaks.

Hubby and I have gone to Phillies a few times for lunch on a Saturday or Sunday. The place is never crowded so we get taken care of immediately. We usually order the Cheesesteak with double meat and split it.(We’re from Chicago and like our beef sandwiches)! We order the sandwich with onions and provolone cheese. Sadly, the mushrooms they offer are canned, so we skip those. If you’ve read any of my other reviews, canned mushrooms are a no no. We love the roll the cheesesteak comes on. Soft and fresh. The meat is lean, void of gristle. Canned and bottled sodas are offered, no fountain drinks. The fries are good and they have a nice selection of bagged potato chips. Staff is friendly. We’re hoping more people find this little gem so they remain open. Also, if they get more business, maybe they’ll use fresh mushrooms cause they won’t spoil so quickly. Nice job Phillies!

My husband and I ordered some cheesesteaks and ate there. While it was a long wait while they made the fpod, the staff were very friendly and talked to us while we waited. The meat was very tender and the buns had the right amount of chewiness, but it was more oily than I usually like. We have been there only once but I would be willing to give it another go.

We really like this place, I forget it’s over there sometimes but when I remember, Phillies never disappoints. I recommend calling ahead as the wait is usually 10 – 15 min for your order. Also, a single order of fries can easily feed two. Head on over — you will be glad you did!

Not the best cheesesteak that’s for sure. The roll was a nice size but the steak was not enough to fill the roll. More bread than meat. The last two inches were just roll. Not that much flavor and could have had more cheese. Still searching for a good cheesesteak in Katy.

I ordered the corned beef sandwich and it was delicious! Small place, maybe 5 tables, food was cooked when we ordered and the owner was nice!

Went there last night for dinner and will not be back. My family is from media PA so we know what a cheesteak is supposed to be. This was a pathetic excuse for a steak. The bread was stale and there was maybe half of what the correct portion of steak should be. Also worth noting there was no deli slicer present which means you are eating old pre-sliced meat… The cleanliness and staff were both disappointing as well. Don’t waste your time or money here. Hopefully one day a decent philly will come to katy, sigh…

I’ve been here a number of times — owner is from the Philly suburbs as am I. All I can say is the reviews here are all pretty accurate and all go to show that Phillies has somehow created an authentic Philadelphia experience on 1463 in Katy. The hoagies and cheesesteaks are huge — just like at home. The 6 inch sub is not welcome in Philadelphia. The service isn’t exactly the friendliest, but still a lot nicer than Pat’s in South Philly. The meatball sub bread gets soggy when you take it home? That’s how it’s supposed to be — you’ll need a knife and fork at the end. Cheesesteak is greasy? Just let the grease drip into the wrapper then dip your bread back in for extra flavor. Complaining about this is like people in Philly complaining about a tex-mex place being too spicy. As for cleanliness, I haven’t noticed a problem when I’ve been in but hopefully it’s something they’re working on. Dirty is bad. It does take awhile for them to work through the orders. Seems there’s always a new employee at the register who doesn’t quite know the system, and they run with a very small staff so things can get backed up. But the cheesesteaks and hoagies(I get the old fashioned italian) are what they claim to be and the closest thing I’ve found in Texas to the real thing.

My review is based on the food, as I keep getting ToGo orders and have yet to really experience the service. Fries are nice and meaty, no skinny ones here! Picky husband likes the cheesesteaks, but I’m a sucker for a good meatball sub. Oh, it’s a good one — tastes homemade, it’s hunch worthy, and it’s deliciously sloppy.(So maybe not the best for a first date… or is it?) It might seem a little pricey, until you see the portion size.(It takes me two attempts to finish one.) And you might think it takes a little while for your order, but it’s a reasonable wait for made to order. Been here three times, and been satisfied each time!

I love cheesesteaks! So, when I noticed this establishment while driving down FM1463 at lunchtime I HAD to try it! I walked into the restaurant and noticed that there’s nobody there, but the television was on and the volume was really loud! I would recommend turning the television down and playing some upbeat music instead. I walked up to the counter and noticed a guy in plain clothes just standing in the open kitchen staring at me. He obviously worked there, but he barely even acknowledged me! Instead, he walked into the back room and notified someone else that I was in the restaurant. A woman came out about 1-minute later and took my order. She didn’t seem very friendly at the beginning, but began to show signs of life once I began talking to her. I ordered a cheesesteak, fries and a drink. The guy that I spoke about earlier immediately began cooking my cheesesteak while the woman threw some fries in the oil. I then began to observe the restaurant while waiting for my food. I noticed that the backsplash behind the grill and fryer looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. This was disturbing, but even more so because this area was in clear visible sight for everyone to see. If the area in plain site of the customers looks like this, then what does the back area look like? I received the food and it was pretty good, but the portions were way too big and the total cost was too high. I would recommend offering both 6-inch and 12-inch portions which would make this meal more affordable for single patrons. Nobody acknowledged me when I left the restaurant by saying«thank you» or «come again». It just seemed like they were just going through the motions. I would recommend that a greeting like«Welcome to Phillies!» and a salutation like«Thanks for visiting!» be used. This would make customers feel welcomed every time! It baffles me how someone could spend so much money opening a restaurant and then just accept mediocre service as a way of doing business. The food was good, but that was about it.

If all i had were memories, it would consist of a short drive down a windy country road. And at the end of that long dusty ride, sits a small brick building with a huge neon sign that radiates Philies. I was a huge fan of Texadelphias, from what ive been told is the best cheese steak in town. But the product that comes out of this little crowded kitchen absolutely blows my expectations out of the park. Nice soft bread, allowing a gentle delivery of the sautéed mix directly in to your brain. Its like a drug and just as addictive. The perfect sandwitch, meal, lunch, dinner. Anything that involves food and eating is just a nightmare, unless your memory consists of a not long in the past trip and Philies.

When I saw that this joint was being built like 5 minutes away from our house… I kinda made fun… sayin” I bet the bread will be from HEB or somethin”…well Went in tonite for some steaks w/the hub & kid… when I walked in I literally went sqeeeeeee! when I saw that they use Amoroso bread for their steaks… if you are from the east OR serious about your steaks then you know Amoroso is what is used for the original cheesesteak… something about the wooter(water) in Philadelphia makes the bread OH so good… firm crust, yet spongy softness on the inside… ooo la la but I digress. The owner is from Philly… they get the bread, the meat and the cheese(provolone & american) they got wiz there too if that’s your thing…(bleek!) flown out from the Brotherly City of Love weekly. I got a chicken cheesesteak and while I did enjoy it… it could have been chopped up a bit more on the grill… the bread was well… awesome…the fried onions were a tasty natural additive… the hub & kid had reg steaks and fries. Its a no frills place and the owners are super friendly, its clean and a cool place to get a taste of Philly. This Philly girl is happy.
