Restaurant is closed, shut down, bought out. Drove from Sealy to find a sign outside with a new business’ name saying«coming soon».

What a hidden jewel in Katy! We found this pizzeria on Unilocal and tried it because of the great reviews. It was fantastic and we keep returning!

Joe is a nice guy, but he serves up merely average pizza. On the basis of Unilocal reviews, I went a little out of my way to pick up one of his specials. Not bad, but nothing spectacular, and kind of expensive. In a blind taste test, I’m pretty sure I couldn’t pick his out among the offerings of any number of local places.

Closest I’ve come to great pizza. I’m from the northeast and great pizza joints are on every corner so it’s not easy to come by authentic Italian pizza anywhere else. This place makes the mark though. The owners were pleasant, location is not the best but worth checking it out if you want thin crust NY style pizza.

We’ve been here twice in two weeks and can’t wait to go back. Caprese is excellent. Beef tortellini was delicious. We’ve had 2 pizzas so far, both were excellent thin crust pizzas and very tasty. This is our new favorite local Italian restaurant. Only small gripe is location has minimal parking.

This was the best pizza I’ve had in Katy. We ordered three pies for a family get together. Everyone loved them. I haven’t gone back yet because it was expensive– $ 50 for 3 large. Maybe I’m biased because I worked at a pizza shop in college. Anyways we placed an order and went to pick it up and still had quite a wait. I think one of the employees was late that day. That’s the reason for the 4 stars. Otherwise so good!

Joe’s has the best pizza in Katy… period! The best! The crust is thin, the sauce is tasty, the meat is plentiful. I love this place!

nice traditional NY pizza. having grown up in Italy, my pleasant surprise was finding meat tortellini in brodo on their everyday menu. very unusual and definitely welcomed. i have been back several times because of it.

Pizza was decent and priced well. Staff was nice. Cute little establishment but very small so not ideal for large party during peak hours when it would be more crowded.

Well I decided to give this place a try tonight because my favorite pizza place is closed on Sunday. Location was ok, parking was minimal but all in all not hard to find. First off i will admit my expectations may have been set a little high for this place after reading some of the reviews. I wish I would have saved my money. We ordered a Calzone and XL Pep and mushroom pizza. The Calzone was lacking flavor and ricotta cheese. The ingredients in both the calzone and pizza seemed far from fresh and quickly thrown together. Really not what i was expecting fron a cozy pizza joint in the heart of downtown Katy. The place does not have a fountain drink station just can sodas you purchase at the counter. They do have water and ice tea self serve on the condiments table. The verdict. Service was ok and food medicore. Next time I may wait out my favorite pizza joints Sunday closure.

Super delicious! We like Star Pizza in the Heights and Montrose… This reminds me of that super good pie! My new favorite! I like that it’s close and in Katy. It’s nice not to drive into Houston for a good pie or instead of BIG chain stores… I would much rather come here and eat up some awesome pizza!

We visited Joe’s 5 Star pizza strictly because of the reviews. We were sorely disappointed. Parking is non existent. Which isn’t too bad since the place doesn’t get too full anyway on a Friday night. You can park at the church across the street. We ordered 1 large pizza with pepperoni, meatball and mushroom and a side of garlic bread. The garlic bread was the worst I’ve ever eaten. Had a bitter burnt taste to it and the bread was not fresh. The pizza… chewy bland crust. Sauce was mehhh. Toppings scarce. We were expecting NY style pizza. I could have heated a Totinos that tasted better than this!!! The flavor was just so bland. Everything about the pizza just did not stand out or make me what to say mmmmmmmm. Staff was very nice, I feel bad for leaving this review because they seemed like some really nice folks but geez… the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten. Do yourself a favor and avoid.

For a homesick native NYer in Houston these guys gave us some really nice«cheese pie». This was the closest thing I had to NY pizza since I’ve been here. Its also a nice neat clean family run restaurant which means even more to me. I only wish they were closer to my house.

Best authentic local pizza & pasta and OMG they DELIVER!!! We live a couple miles from this place and have enjoyed the BYOB policy with friends while sharing some pizzas… We’ve stopped by for pasta dishes when we dont feel like cooking Dishes are always great prices AND super yummy! Very casual, not necessarily for dressy date night, but always enjoyable!

Even with a cozy location and friendly staff, the lack of customer accurately reflects the quality of the food. Cruising with LunchBox through old town katy, we decide on some carb loading to prepare for our up coming race. My rule of counting customers got over ruled by the hunger and the presentation of a very charming setting. But then reality sets in, as our orders arrive one by one. bruschetta– Soggy with vinaigrette, odd grocery store garlic bread taste. Lasagna– The collected condensation that nestles under this bland pallet spells frozen and reheated. Calzone– Salty like something ready to be preserved. Not sure how this place amassed so many good reviews(Like J-Dubs down the street), not saying someone’s padding them, but that’s the only possible explanation.

My husband and I took our almost-2-year-old here for dinner on a Friday evening. Everyone was super friendly and the service was fast. It is BYOB — we don’t drink but we saw a bunch of people taking advantage, bringing a bottle of wine or a cooler. There is no ice/drink machine but they have a cooler of ice set out and serve canned sodas. This was fine with us. It’s a small place, but still comfortable. There are several shaded tables outside, which is where we sat, and it was nice to be able to let our daughter play without worrying. We had the garlic bread with marinara(delicious — the marinara is on the chunky side) and shared a pizza, half cheese/half pepperoni. It was as good as any we’ve had. You pay up front when you order so there is no waiting for a check. We really enjoyed this cute, independent place and will be back!

I meant to review this cozy little Italian joint sooner, but it wasn’t on Unilocal at the time. I wasn’t going to add it because I’m too important and above such burdensome tasks. But ultimately I felt I’d be remiss if I didn’t. Located in what the locals refer to as «Old Katy», the couple that took over this restaurant are great people who moved to Texas from out of state and are ambitious about making this establishment even better. I stopped here a few times when I was around the area. I sampled the pizza, fettuccine Alfredo, and the calzone. I don’t expect to be blown away by Italian food in Texas, but all things considered, the food here is really good. They offer soft drinks, cappuccino, and its BYOB. How can you beat that? If you’re in the area, I would definitely recommend you stop in.
