MMM. Just moved to Katy 6 months ago and I’m so excited I found this place. They have awesomely crunchy sweet potato fries and some really interesting burger combinations. I would have given 5 stars, but the food takes a while to get to the table. If you aren’t in a rush this place rocks for a solid burger and fries.

I came here while in town with my little cousins and I really enjoyed it. The food was on par! I ordered the Homeroom minus the onions. It was very good and the meat was cooked to perfection. We ordered large orders of sweet potato fries and regular fries. I think the burgers were much better than the fries. The place was decorated very well. The theme went throughout, from the outside to the inside décor and the menu. It was very cute. I liked the theme and idea. The service was great too. I would highly recommend this place and return when I’m back in town.

Average burger at best. Solid truffle fries. Writing this as I try to make eye contact with my server for the last 15 minutes who is busy taking selfies. Young kids working here mostly ignoring the customers(it’s early Monday evening and very slow). Way too much $ for an OK burger, fries and a tea with crappy service? Not coming back.

Super delicious. I enjoyed the burger, I liked their special sauce AND the Niger was juicy without being greasy. The wait was too long, like 40 minutes… So we took a seat at the bar. The menu is extensive, the beer was cold. For bar service, we were treated well. We will be returning, hopefully the wait isn’t always as long.

How can you go wrong with an American Classic burger? This place has taken it to the next level with their unique and creative theme! My go to is their«Homeroom» that has a fried egg included, it is messy but well worth it. They balance a great sweet sautéed onions with their aioli sauce and egg to make you finish their burger and want more. I recommend ordering 1 order of fries as they feed at least 2. This place is a must visit to see their twist on school and burgers!

I really want to give this place 5 stars, it really is great, but I prefer my burgers leaner than what is offered. The fact that grassfed organic beef is offered is really nice though. The flavors are interesting and well thought out. Enough of the cons– let’s talk fries and homemade ketchup! Honestly, it’s a good thing La Centerra has a pure barre, because they are worth every rotten little calorie that’s there. I almost licked the plate.

We were traveling through and had seen Bernies Burger Bus the other day on the T.V. show«The Little Couple». The milkshakes just looked worth the drop in. It isn’t the easiest place to locate being hidden way to the far back of the shopping center it was in. The service was fast. The server polite and informative. Parking was the worst. Back to the food. Everything was great. I ended with the Apple Pie Milk Shake ! Amazing ! Hope they come to San Antonio,

so this is a difficult one, I’ll let you make the call. Bernie’s Recetly opened, great burgers, amazing burgers. Terrible management, on their opening Free burger coupons were passed along to other merchants in La Centerra, problem is that they passed only 1 coupon to our offices, where we have 25 people, is not about free burgers for everyone but… Finally went to Bernie’s last night so as I said, amazing burger, the bathroom on the other hand, shaving clippings on the sink. According to the hostess, this was Pedro’s management shift,

A little too pricey for a greasy burger. I did not like their homemade ketchup, it was too sweet. Fries were pretty good Went back again and had the preschoolers, much better, brought my own ketchup. Still pricey. But much better experience

first try here, one of many I predict. it seems like they cycle different burgers, not so much seasonally but just on a whim, based on reviews I’ve read and burgers that I wanted but aren’t on the menu now. i bet that’s part of why it’s successful, just trying out new things every once in a while retaining a few staples. there is a big open floor when you walk in, designed for high volume and rightfully so, it was nuts on Friday night like many places are, but a Friday night not long after a grand opening isn’t the brightest idea. we were patient and even had some friends so it wasn’t a big deal. an hour wait and then 30 minutes for food was longer than we wanted, but again not surprising. they are family friendly with high chairs and booster seats fyi. I’m tired of people saying places are loud and taking it out on the business in their reviews, get over it already, what do you expect when a ton of people come together in a tight space? this means it’s popular and the food must be good! this isn’t a Michelin starred, elegant restaurant, it’s a fun place with unique, tasty, maybe hipster food. it’s adventurous compared to the majority of burger joints. I would’ve, for instance, tried the burger with kimchi but I didn’t see it here. I went for the bison burger because it sounded like something I wouldn’t get to try often other than Cabela’s, though I see bison is much more popular than it used to be. it is a lean meat and can sometimes use some help to stay moist, like their pickled red onions and blackberry chipotle BBQ sauce, which seemed to absorb into the buffalo patty. the sauce was excellent with its spicy kick, acidic subtlety and strongly competing berry vs bbq sweetness but delivered a rewarding richness. then throw in some goat cheese, nice touch! even healthier with the arugula leaves. I know I should’ve ordered this cooked medium at least but I went for medium rare, and I’m still hanging thus far, but that helped with the tenderness and moisture I’m sure, too. problem is my burger was absolutely blitzed by some spectacular fries which both detracted and numbed the burger’s taste so as good as it looked on paper, it wasn’t as flavourful as the fries, but it was better than an average burger. I have a feeling that ordinary beef would’ve stood out more here but I made the rookie mistake of getting a less flavourful meat just to try bison once more. also the goat’s milk cheese wasn’t as strong as I’d hoped, but it paired nicely with the theme in-spite-of not enhancing it. I will try another burger next time. those blue cheese fries were so good though. I recommend a fork if you want to soak up all the juices and cheese without using a million napkins. they were spicy and bold, crispy and soft on the inside. they were the winners this dinner. blue cheese sauce, blue cheese crumbles, bacon and green onions, all complimentary and outrageously strong in flavour. I would order these again once I try some of the other interesting things on their menu. overall a great experience and reason to return for the changing menu, great food and good service. oh did it not mention the service? yes, it was a++ for our table of 4 plus two babies. on a crazy night too. waiters constantly refilled even when only half empty, checked in with us frequently, and were very thorough and didn’t forget anything, thank you Brad.

What’s all the hype about?! Seriously?! It was one of the worst burger and fries I’ve ever encountered. I gave 1 star for the sodas and service. Other than that, it’s not worth the money. Had a Cheerleader & the Homeroom burger… thumbs down. The truffle and Honor roll fries as a bit undercooked even though I asked for extra crispy. Don’t get me started on the salad. Was not worth the money. So disappointed!

Today I order a regular cheese burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion. What I got was a burger covered with mustard, ketchup, pickles and bacon. I am very much allergic to mustard and NEVER get mustard on my burger. I called to see what happened to the order and if they would fix it and was basically told that it was not their problem. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Bernie’s Burger Bus and was excited to try it. After pending $ 17.05 for this meal and the way that I was treated over the phone I can honestly say that I will never try them again and will NEVER recommend them to ANYONE! Completely rude customer service and disrespectful.

My friend and I couldn’t pass up Bernie’s after a quick stop to Trader Joe’s! We actually walked in 9 minutes before closing. I felt a little bad, but the hostess was really friendly and sat us. Our server was really friendly and never seemed to be annoyed at us for being the last customers of the night. Two thumbs up to the service overall. I decided to not order a burger(mistake) and ordered the Field Trip«Fries». The name is so deceiving haha because they are actually Cajun style potato chips(this is clearly mentioned in the description on the menu, but I somehow overlooked it). Our server brought our food within 10 minutes and I dug in. First couple of bites were really good, but as I ate more I noticed that they were actually REALLY salty. My friend had two chips and said he couldn’t eat anymore because they were too salty for him to continue eating. I honestly would not order these«fries» again. They were not nasty just too salty.

Decided to check the place out since it was new to the area and I’ve never had it before. Came around lunchtime and it was pretty busy but nothing too insane. Note to any first timers coming here, everything is separate. There aren’t any combo orders and you pick from whatever you want, whether it be just a burger, some fries, or a shake. Ordered the truffle fries with a Fire Drill burger which came out to about $ 16. Bit pricey but whatever. Fries were great; fresh and crispy, well seasoned. Definitely going to order those again next time.(All the burgers here are made medium unless you prefer a different way of how well you want your burger.) Not a big fan of the burger however, all you can taste is the salsa verde that was put on top of the patty with melted cheese on top. Soggy bun and too much toppings made it very messy when biting into it. Coming back but definitely not going to get the Fire Drill next time. Oh and very good service btw by Amanda. Very attentive and makes sure you are satisfied with whatever you ordered.

The day I found out that there was a Bernie’s Burger Bus restaurant, and that it was only 10 minutes from my house, my family was there for dinner. It did not disappoint! We ordered the Honor Roll fries to share. Delicious, and 3 of us couldn’t finish them. I ordered the Homeroom burger with no egg, Hubby got it all the way with an extra patty, and my oldest daughter got it with only bacon and cheese. They were all exactly what we hoped. We had eaten at the actual burger bus before and it was great. I’m so happy that the restaurant is just as good! I think this will be our new regular place! On a side note, I had checked out the menu ahead of time and had my sights set on the Exchange Student lamb burger, but it wasn’t on the actual menu. That was a little sad. BRINGBACKTHELAMBBURGER! Between the lack of lamb burger, and the price($ 70 for 3 adults and a child– whoa!), the 5 stars is set at 4. Charging $ 5 for an extra patty, $ 7 for a shake, and $ 10.50 for each burger is a bit high… even though it’s epic.

My burger was heaven. I ordered the substitute and it had huge chunks of bleu cheese, slow cooked mushrooms and onions, which were so sweet they were like candy, thick cut bacon, and a perfect bun. Well done Bernies! You see, I’m from Fort Worth, which has so many foodie burger joints like this. You really have to be good to stand out and the Burger Bus nailed it. Get the truffle fries. Minus one star for the wait… this place is so small for how popular it is. Lots of big groups and kids. It was also very loud. Not a huge deal because they had a bar to purchase drinks across from the hostess station… very smart. Local beer on tap! We just grabbed a beer while we waited.

We eat at the one in Bellaire a lot and love it. My only complaint with this place is the price. I feel like their burgers are expensive for what you get. They also don’t have a decent kids burger for us adults who don’t eat much. The other issue is no combination plates. I think with a combo, more people would get more and not worry about he price for such a small burger. The shakes are amazing here but again, they aren’t priced well, and for a shake that size, I would rather go to whataburger.

Fast-food quality burger for a gourmet burger price. Coming from Austin, the first thing that came to mind was a more spacious Hopdoddy. Similar furnishing and table placement, shakes that make you think«I wish I had thought of that,» suped-up burgers, and, of course, truffle fries. However, the similarities end there. The wait for our burgers was about 30 minutes when the restaurant was only at 2⁄3 capacity. I ordered the bison burger(I forget the menu name) medium and it came out well done. The bun is okay, does not hold up and starts to disintegrate as it becomes soggy halfway through eating the burger. My burger came with pickled onions, which were fantastic, goat cheese, and BBQ sauce. There was way too much of the goat cheese, which I absolutely adore when used correctly, and the BBQ sauce was on about Whataburger’s level. The BBQ sauce tried to counter the dry bitterness of the goat but ultimately failed to combat the absurd amounts of goat cheese. This leads me to my next point and the most vexing part of my experience. There seems to be no awareness of how to proportion the condiments on these burgers. My co-diner got a burger that comes with horseradish and, again, this strong condiment that can make or break a dish was just dumped on the burger. If anyone had tasted what had been put out, they would immediately say«hmm, a bit too much horseradish» or «maybe a little less goat cheese.» It’s just baffling that these $ 10-$ 11 burgers are so carelessly crafted. Would have rated a 3 based on taste alone, but the outlandish prices for the product merit the 2 stars. Big potential, poorly executed. A shame this is under the famous«Bernie’s» name.

I’m torn with this one… I wanted to really like it however I was drawn to only like it a little bit… Starting with the best part of this place, it is necessary to recognize the truffle fries which were pretty tasty on their own. Moving on to the dislikes I have to admit that the burger was no better then one that you could receive a sonic or Wendy’s. Although the options are plentiful(you can get eggs, tipsy onions, aioli sauce) the standard of meat was average at best. Moreover the waitress was not nearly as professional as she should have been for the premium price($ 50 for my wife, son and I) that you pay here. I was giving an honest opinion on what I thought about my meal and she took offense to my opinion. Although they make their food completely from scratch, that gimmick alone is not enough to keep me coming back…

Good food. Quirky atmosphere. The food was delicious. I had a basic burger and added bacon with a side of the chili cheese fries. It was reasonably priced for the amount of food provided. The burger tasted homemade. The restaurant layout was a little jank. They have a ‘bar’ off to the side that seats maybe 6 people and just seems awkward so we sat in the dining area.

Really good burgers and fries! Nice and fresh with a good homemade taste to them. The price was a little crazy and they don’t believe in combo meals. Drink, burger and fries are all charged separately and each in their own are a little on the expensive side. I’ll be back because it was tasty and something new for the area.

We went on a weekday in the evening so there was no wait and service was fast. The menu has a decent variety of burgers. I got«the substitute» which was very good. The bleu cheese mixed well with the sweet onions. The truffle fries are amazing. The fries are nice and thick and crunchy! The only bad thing was it was a little pricey, especially for the fries. It’s not somewhere we’ll go TOO often because of that.

This is actually the 2nd visit to this location and although the Paleo-Hamburger was absolutely wonderful, especially with the spicy guacamole, the service was substandard. In that it was a Sunday night the restaurant was not at all busy, in point of fact our waiter stood with a number of his colleagues at the POS monitor while our drinks sat on the bar calling for us. This is now the 2nd time I have been at Bernie’s and service has been an issue. Frankly, there are enough restaurant venues at LaCenterra that I suspect if this is generally the level of service it will be difficult to maintain competitive superiority. I will possibly try the restaurant again at some point in the future ass both the hamburgers I have had have been notably good however I can almost tolerate moderate food with excellent service but excellent food with poor service is not what I am willing to abide by given the options in and around LaCenterra.

I got«The Principal», small Hand-Cut Fries and an Iced Tea. Total with tax and 15% tip was $ 20.00… Ouch. I never tasted the hamburger meat, I saw it, however all the other stuff on the burger overwhelmed the meat flavor. Not sure how many oz of meat there was, but it look like a small amount, the pattie was broken up to cover the size of the bun. The fries were good. Small bar area, they need window shades for the windows facing the bar, noon time the sun shines brightly. Sorry Burnie, in my opinion there are better burgers out there like Five Guys. For equivalent order at Five Guys with tax $ 12.52 plus you get free peanuts and they always throw in extra fries(Little Cheeseburger, Little Fries, Large Drink) I gave it 2 stars because the fries were good.

Bernie’s has been my favorite burger spot since they opened years ago. I became a fan the moment I had my first bite at their bus. Their new location at La Centerra doesn’t disappoint either. The space is far more spacious than the Bellaire location. The school theme makes you nostalgic for the lunches spent in cafeterias, except instead of cardboard pizza, you get gourmet burgers. The waitstaff is made up of high schoolers(probably kids from the Cinco Ranch which is right across the street). This definitely adds to the nostalgia. As for the food, I’ve tried just about everything on the menu. I’ve also never had a disappointing meal at Bernie’s. That says a lot. The meat is always full of flavor and the toppings are very creative. Some of my favorite things to order are the Homeroom(who can say no to crispy bacon, runny eggs and tipsy onions?), the Cheerleader(I hate tomatoes on my burgers but the fire roasted tomatoes are to die for) the sweet potato tots with the curry ketchup, and the chocolate shake. I used to go to Bernie’s about twice a month but now that I’m far more conscious about my health, I go every few months because I like living. It’s such a treat.

These burgers are some of the best you will have. The meat has a great flavor and is cooked perfectly. There is a nice selection of toppings you can add to any burger. The garlic tomatoes really stand out and give the burger a unique flavor. If you like spicy, try the Cheerleader. Pepper jack cheese, crispy jalapenos, and jalapeño ranch make it a great choice. 2 burgers, 2 regular sized orders of fries, 2 soft drinks = $ 36. Worth it!

Came all the way from Chicago for these burgers — and was NOT disappointed! Lively vibe at their second location with friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Quick service and high quality products. We had The Principal, The Classic and The Cheerleader which was my favorite. A little heat with crispy jalapeños and pepper Jack cheese. Truffle laced fries and BBQ pork smothered fries rounded out this hell of a meal. Can’t wait to come back to get milkshakes! #oldschoolawesome

Delicious gourmet burgers and fries, shakes and beer. Local craft beers on tap. Bernie’s burger bus started as a food truck. We enjoyed Bernie’s in the past and wanted to try the new location at la Centerra, close to Trader Joe’s. The interior is nice and similar to what you would find at Freebirds burritos. There are single stools facing the window. Bernie’s plays the school theme to the max. The interior design, the menu and the items on the menu are all playfully reminiscent of those school days. Expect strange but tasty burger combinations in the menu. I ordered a burger that was topped with pork and a sour apple kimchi sauce. My wife and I also ordered some bleu cheese fries and sweet potato fries. The burger was delicious and the bleu cheese fries were addicting. The sweet potato fries were also good and I like that they were cut thinner than normal. The burgers are not half pounders, but are a good size with all of the added toppings. I had a tasty local craft brew from Eighth Wonder brewing that was very good. I think I would like to try a shake next time. Our total bill came to about $ 38, which is a bit high for burgers, but we were happy with our meal. We will return.
