Currently this Lapperts is closed as is most of the Coconut Marketplace. It is under renovation. Maybe Lappets will reopen, but not soon.

Lapperts in front of Coconut Grove is no longer open for business. We were told it closed in November 2015.

It’s decent for ice cream. Menu is heavy on flavors with lots of chocolate… so for the none chocolate lovers, there’s slim pickings. I do appreciate how they have a frequent buyer punch card.

Best coffee around, Ice cream is making me larger lol, so it’s really good also. Lots to choose from here. The owner is very nice and welcoming. They are open when most places are closed in the are, which is nice. All in all a good place to visit and get some fuel!

lappert’s is kauai’s best ice-cream! this company was born & raised right here on kauai. they make their ice-cream at their westside location in hanapepe town. they have an assortment of different flavors that are unique to kauai(and hawaii) as well as the classics everyone loves. i recommend getting a waffle cone(i like mine plain, but they have some dipped ones that are decadent!). this location is still going strong. it’s located in the coconut marketplace, which is a dying strip mall.

The staff was nice and welcoming and the ice cream is delicious! I tried to take a photo and the lady took the ice cream and turned it over to make sure it showed Lapperts lol

Get the pineapple coconut ice cream! It is so amazing!!! We love this ice cream place, so many flavors but the pineapple coconut is the best! Service was quick and friendly even though we came in 5 minutes before closing.

The chocolate and the cookie dough ice cream were very good. I sampled the white chocolate macadamia nut and thought it was good. The waffle cone for a dollar is worth it! The only thing I didn’t like it how expensive it was. $ 5 and change for one scoop of ice cream in the tiniest bowl ever is ridiculous. 2 scoops is $ 7 and some change, didn’t make sense. The lady working wasn’t that friendly, maybe she was just tired but I do like a smile at least. All and all, it was standard ice cream, so if that what u want, head here.

Best ice cream west of the Mississippi *yelp wants longer reviews… Ain’t nobody got time for that :) So here are a couple of sentences to please the people of Unilocal who think that people need to keep reading reviews instead of getting on with their lives

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut ice cream flavor. Enough said. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our choices.

After shopping at Bodacious, Alan and I decided to stop here for a treat before heading back to Poipu. I am an unimaginative ice cream eater. I don’t have it often, so I want what I like w/o much experimentation. Give me the darkest chocolate and I’m happy. They offer endless tastes, I gather. I just tasted the dark chocolate w/macadamia nuts. Alan tasted two. I forget what the first one was but the second one was peanut butter mixed w/vanilla and maybe chocolate. I got a teeny cup and he got the next size up. They came to something over $ 10, which was a bit of a shock, but they were delicious. I loved mine. The chocolate was perfect and the nuts were toasted dark w/o being bitter. He said his compared favorably to Ben and Jerry’s. The taste I had was lovely. Lappert’s is locally made in Hanapepe.

The perfect place to have a nice cold creamy treat. It has an authentic ice cream parlor feel. There are a variety of flavors of ice cream, sorbet, and gelato. They have a full coffee bar and baked treats too. I had an affogato with a scoop of dark chocolate macadamia nut ice cream and whipped cream. Delicious! My friend had the lilikoi ice cream and loved it. Bonus: free wifi and plenty of plugs for charging!

Stopped at two different locations when on Kauai. The first time we got the roasted banana salt caramel and it was great. The second time I should have sampled the White Chocolate Macadamia before I bought it because it was a bit bland. The one downside is the high price for one scoop. Ah the price of paradise!

Very cute ice cream /coffee stand located near our hotel. It’s in the Coconut Marketplace and didn’t disappoint with their assortment of flavors. They let you sample as many flavors as you want, but I tried to stay within a 5 sample range… without seeming too greedy. But basically all the flavors are solid. However, their most popular the«Nene tracks» is what won me over and I got two scoops of that. It’s basically like moose tracks, but with a Hawaiian flair. I can’t remember what was in it, but the Kauai Pie was solid and so was the mango sherbet!

Love the coffee and the ice cream. Had them several times while staying near the place and felt it was not any higher priced than back home. All coffee and ice cream is way overpriced everywhere.

Yes, please! As I’m writing this, my mouth is starting to water just thinking about the ice cream from Lappert’s. We stayed at The Islander and it was awesome having an ice cream shop just a short 5-minute walk away. We went twice during our trip, but I wish we went a couple more times. Flavors you ask? Sorry, I can’t remember what I had, but kindly ask the lady for samples and she’ll gladly let you try whatever you like.

Lappert’s is the jammy jam. This ice cream will do nothing but make your vacation better. Do the run on the beach in the morning, or whatever you need to, in order to justify crushing one of these tasty treats. I go with the white chocolate dipped and Oreo waffle cone with peanut butter hot fudge and Oreo crunch ice cream. I asked the audience, called a friend, and they all confirmed that it doesn’t get better than this ice cream. #boom

This is the end all be all of human existence, hehe. I got that line from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. I always, always get Lappert’s and get bummed when the Cali locations don’t have the same flavors all of the time. The Cali and Hawai’i locations are different companies, so there is a slight difference in the variety. Coconut is my fave, so I usually get coconut mac nut fudge, caramel coconut mac nut, or just plain Coconut. Kaua’i pie was my fave for years, though. My sister filled up her Lappert’s card, so she got a free ice cream. They don’t have regular cones, just waffle cones or disposable cups.
