Toys R US

I am a toy collector. Having a Toys R Us nearby is a boon to me. However, Toys R Us is an aging company with few updates. This particular facility is a bit old, but not bad. How busy it is varies on the time of year. Due to inconsistent foot traffic, it tends to be staffed by few people. As such, when it does get busy, there tend to be lines to check out. This will happen.
Price actually tends to be a few dollars more expensive than a Wal-​Mart or a Target.
Still, solid place and a regular stop for me as a toy collector has to find what he is looking for. What better place than a toy store?

Very friendly staff. Bought a Rc quad copter a month ago from a different store, flew the crap out of it and one of the motors went out. They took it back, no hassle, full refund.

Kept me waiting over five minutes and didn’t even acknowledge it. The staff looked very depressed and dreary, did not make me feel like I wanted to be there.

Will never shop here again. Stop in to pick up 1 item and end up waiting over 20 min before deciding I would get it later. Understand the whole layaway thing but come on. You should have a line for cash and carry only…

During non-​holiday times the store is usually stocked pretty well. I think they could light the parking lot a little better at night.

This Toys R Us (also Kids R Us) looked a bit old (maybe from the 80s or 90s). You can tell from the exterior’s appearance. I walked around even though I had one thing on my mind which was to buy a video game and use the coupon in their advertisement book (thank you slickdeals! lol). There was a section for baby-​related things. Back in California, we had a Babies R Us which was a whole store dedicated to baby-​related things. I’m not sure if they have those here in Kansas City and no I didn’t search it up while I’m writing this review. Haha!
Anyways, the rest of the store had toys (obviously) and everything was organized. The video games was in its own area with metal detectors. I asked one of the employees where I could find the game I was looking for even though I didn’t look for it myself. She was nice and found what I wanted; in addition, I found out she was a gamer. Awesome!
Good place to buy toys! =)
