Did the tornado blow through here while transporting Dorothy to Oz? This TJ Maxx is ragg-ed-y. I own a LOT of designer stuff and cool houseware from years of shopping at the Metcalf store, and I have given this one ten or fifteen chances over the years, yet I have still never purchased anything here. When I walk in, I see a mess. It almost looks as bad as my teenage daughter’s room. The racks and shelves are sadly wanting more. More pretty things. More organization. More selection overall. Sorry TJ Maxx, but if I didn’t know what The Legends had to offer and came here first, I would head directly back to my car and leave.

The workers here must have read Rhonda S.‘s review. I didn’t experience any of the issues she had when I shopped here over the weekend. The store was bright, clean and very organized. I was actually able to find items for me with incredible ease. They had a great sports area too. There were plenty of KU and KSU and Chiefs items and in my size! I bought another Chiefs t-shirt for a very reasonable price — like I need another one. Yes, I had to wait in line but it wasn’t too long of a wait. The person who rang up my purchase was very friendly and spoke to me. Unlike the treatment at another TJ Maxx location. All in all, I don’t mind coming back out to this location even when I’m not in the area.

Can I get over the«eww factor» to write this review? This store is in the Legends, which is a pretty nice complex. The Legends has decent, even upscale outlet stores… I was on a mission, to find that dress. The Dress Barn was over priced(compared to the one out this way). Forever 21 dresses were fair, but most were so skimpy, and I prefer to be covered. At the end of my rope, and stopping at a couple of other stores, I almost left the the hot mess that is the Legends. It escaped me how I found T J Maxx. I don’t usually go past the Gap. There it was, TJ Maxx, and I entered to one of the GROSSEST most awful TJ Maxx I’ve ever been to. I generally like TJ Maxx. Immediately upon entering, I saw a spill on the floor that looked incredibly sticky. It had probably been there throughout the day. I suppose the employee arranging things near the spill hadn’t noticed it. I walked near the dresses. They were miss-layed. A couple even adorned the floor. the handbags were discombublated along with the perfume. Frankly, I had no idea where the dresses were. Granted, I found a $ 20 dollah dress that fit and looked good. But the store is nearly unbearble. There were blouses hanging up with jeans. Alot of the merchandise either smelled bad, or had stains. I am serious. I smelled a dress and someone with sweaty armpits had tried it on before me. One of the dresses had a dirt foot print in the back of it… Calvin Klein didn’t design it that way. There were several other issues from dirty fitting rooms to a dirty floor. THEN the line. There were about 8 counters. One had 2 employees folding clothes. 2 weren’t open. 1, 2 and 3 were the only open register the 4th was for returns. There was a line of over 24 of us. A manager was walking down and asking people in the line if we had price tags on everything, that it would speed things up at the check out. He started to argue with the woman ahead of me. Then the person ahead of her. long story… anyway,. eventually I paid for the dress and told myself never ever again. …I don’t think the poor quality of the store had to do with a huge sporting event at Livestrong, making parking horrid. They really need to fix that, all of it. …I like the Legends, but not Tj Maxx there, and never on a warm weekend.
