The wait staff was awesome. I went on a Saturday with friends however did not drink as I was the DD. The music(DJ) was more Southern Rap which I did not care for being a former East coaster. Overall, it was an okay spot however just not my delight.

Great food and dink specials. Love that they have a good salad as a side choice. The fried pickles are the best I have had. Service is great and friendly and fun. Brandi makes the best margarita!

Super fun! We are all about walking, drinking and meeting people when we are in a new place. We think it’s the best way to see the city and meet it’s residents. The Point fit the bill of everything we were looking for that night — a few drinks in a chill atmosphere with some friendly people. We had a couple of drinks here on a Friday night while in from out of town. We met a nice gentleman who gave us some great recommendations of what else to do and see in town. The bartenders were friendly, the beer nice and cold and we would have stayed longer, but we had to get moving on. It looked like they were setting up for karaōke or dancing or something and the place was getting busy by about 9:30. Oh, and as an added bonus, the women’s restrooms were clean. Check it out if you are in town looking for a great place to relax.

Great, divey bar with decent food and the management staff is great. I love the outdoor seating. Good place to watch the game. I wish they hadn’t removed the pool table!

Most diverse crowd possible. Lunch/dinner is far beyond average bar food and is made with love. The drink specials are out of this world. 2−4−1 Thursday and $ 15 Power Hour every Friday and Saturday night from 9 – 11. Cheap wells and domestics all the time, Plus the best DJ’s and staff in Kansas City!

Where do I begin. Legend has it a man once entered The Point on a Friday night and left with his sobriety and dignity. His song can be heard ringing the streets of westport and the plaza many a weekend night. My friends and I find ourselves time and time again stumbling into this bar on many summer weekend nights for the 9:00 — 11:00 $ 15 power hour. The challenge, remember leaving. Never have I ever dranken a more aggressive whiskey coke(whiskey ice*) in my entire drinking career, 2011-present. You know you’ve reached the Mona Lisa of bars when a 21 year old college blackout utters in a drunken stupor, «can I get more coke in this next one?». Moms. The bartenders are reminiscent of Viking warriors that even a dwarf in Game of Thrones would not be able to handle. Those guys drink wine sun up to sun down and they couldn’t drink their way out of a wet paper bag in this joint. Thursday’s are buy one get one with DJ En Fuego on the One’s and Two’s. Bangers every night. 10⁄10 would recommend partaking in debauchery at this place. If you are from KCMO you have to black out here at least once. Not for the faint of heart. I once lost my shoes there. Still looking for them. If anyone finds them let me know. The basement is a little musty but it’s understandable because that is where the sweaty grind sessions happen. If you’re reading this, call me Denise.

We went here the other night to watch a football game. Both teams had fans watching the large projector screen(we were told this is not a «sports bar».) We were the only ones in the bar, but as soon as the game came on, the owner turns on the sound for the jukebox(at 7 pm). After several complaints from both parties, we were able to get the sound for the game back on until halftime, when the owner refused to turn the sound back on and said there was a group coming in to «listen to the jukebox». At that point we left. The only saving grace was our bartender/waitress who was really nice and friendly, and worked hard to keep everyone in the bar with drinks and food. Unfortunately we will not be back.

I don’t now how to review this place. It’s long been a favorite drinking spot due to The All You Can Drink Power Hour. I never know when it is. It’s changed a few times since I’ve started going but seriously all I can drink? Challenge accepted. The size is great for groups, DJs are usually good and despite usually being really crowded I can get a drink pretty quickly. Day times and weekdays we can usually find room to watch the game and the food is pretty good for bar food. It’s a good post college drinking bar for me and friends. Now if you are looking for a more intimate night out and some a little more… subdued? The Point may not be your spot but for me it serves it purpose as a bar, booze, food, TVs and a late night dance off.

On Friday and Saturday, they have«Power Hour», and you can drink special for $ 15. The all you can drink includes wells and domestic beers. You pay the $ 15, and they slap on a bracelet for you. Apparently at The Pointe, a well also includes Bloody Mary’s and margaritas and PHEW, they are strong. They serve their drinks in large, plastic Dixie cups, and in fairly certain they loaded up on double the amount of liquor. My Bloody Mary was light pink, and my margaritas were a very pale yellow. I had only a few drinks and was done for the rest of the night. Our waitress was very busy, but she did a good job making sure we had everything we needed.

We have been wanting to go here for a while, but it always seems to be a Friday or Saturday when we think of it and I’m not quite into Power Hour(if you are, this would be your place)! We stopped in on a Monday night; lucky me — it was taco night! My hubby was not impressed with the beer selection. I settled on the special, a patron margarita for $ 5; a nice choice. We had read that the burgers were awesome, so my husband ordered one. I went for the tacos — one of each, beef, chicken and pork(you can’t go wrong with $ 1.50 tacos). The burger was good, not great, and certainly not the best in KC as other reviews have stated! The tacos were good, the pork was my favorite. They have a great outdoor patio and the bar area inside is much larger than it appears from the street. Not quite a dive bar, it was clean and inviting, but not to be overrated either. It’s a solid«A-ok»(3 star) bar for my taste.

In my days as a bar-goer, I have never had a night at The Point that did NOT end in shenanigans. The bar has a great power hour on Fridays, and their prices are always pretty good to begin with. They have a DJ pretty often, but don’t go there because you want to dance. Go there because you don’t mind looking like a drunk idiot at midnight dancing to Return of the Mack. The Point does have a surprisingly big outdoor seating area, so it’s good for people who don’t like crowds. This place can get packed, but it’s always a good time. Just bring cab fair.

The Point is a mix between a dive and a fratish sports bar and features a good amount of televisions as well as some small games including darts and shuffleboard. The note on the menu says that The Point is under new ownership so some minor changes have been made, one of which is a smaller and more concise menu. It features a couple of good options for those of you coming in to meet some friends, play some darts or watch a game. I ordered the pulled pork nachos, which could have used a little more cheese, but were quite good. Here’s where things got a little hairy. I came in to watch a game and literally as soon as I finished my nachos I was handed a check. Normally I wouldn’t care, but the first quarter literally had just ended, so I was kind of taken aback. Apparently the bar has a Power Hour where you can get unlimited draft beer for a price and it coincided with the football game… and I was in the way. The crazy part was I only saw seven or eight people come in and ask about the power hour, so I kept my seat and watched the second quarter of the game, but I did catch a bit of a glare from the bartender. I might have just timed my visit wrong, but I will say you might check when your game is before you decide to watch it at The Point. If it’s early you’ll probably have a good time. If it’s a little later it might blend in with the late night bro crowd.

I really want to say 2.5star but maybe i’m being too strict because i’ve experienced better. Sunday night $ 10 cover charge per person(–0.5 star) I don’t believe in places you have to pay cover because you are already buying drinks and hanging out with friends. There are plenty of places i’ve been in my past that I can still have a good time without having to drop extra money to get in. Also, I thought this was a BAR not a CLUB, Clubs charge cover charge, while bars usually don’t. This one seems to want best of both worlds. A roomy outside smoking/eating area which you walk by to get inside. Then once inside there is about 2 rooms and I think one bar(maybe more, I didn’t focus too much on upstairs). Downstairs there is one bar and restrooms that don’t make sense. Why is it in their downstairs restroom there are 2 restroom stalls but no doors to the stalls in the women’s restroom, therefore being like a single restroom, because not many people would leave the restroom door unlocked unless the other people in the room are friends in the same group. Plus this is NOT a men’s restroom. Eh we went because other dinner party people wanted to go meet up friends but we’re no longer extreme clubbers so you might have your own opinion. Raging Bull, Grey Goose shot & Cran Vodka drinks were about $ 28.

Fried pickles. Check. Good burgers… on REALLY good toasted buns and seasoned well. Not over-formed, and tender as all hell. Check. Waffle sweet potato fries cooked until crispy(not easy to do) and laced with course salt. Check-effing-mate!!! This is some solid bar food… not the average sling hash kitchen serving drunks with apathetic palates. Come here to eat, or drink, or BOTH! :)

The Point has for a long time been a Sunday Funday type of place. The location for being right in the middle of midtown and the plaza is great. Honestly, when I went it was all about the liquor. I cannot give you true insight on the food. I can say that the presentation looked good. The prices were great. It provided some aerial nose sensory smiling. Now, with that being said. They have done some sprucing up recently a little bit. I think the menu changed a small bit in that. I always looked at it, I just never ate it. The prices are very reasonable for cocktails. They have a decent selection of beer and spirits. Nothing to high end. Just somewhere to go with your friends when you want to hang out and not be ashamed that you are wearing your pink sweatshirt and sweatpants that you just got that are glittery and bedazzled.

Kelli Daniels is the King Midas of KC Chefs… everything she touches turns into culinary gold! I’m glad that Good You has found yet another home for its unique and tasty food. Before Good You came to The Point I wouldn’t have ordered anything off the menu unless I was pretty drunk because it just seemed like regular deep-fryer bar food. Now I will go here just to eat! They have a ton of TVs and they play a bunch of sports so it’s a great place to catch a game and take advantage of their many drink specials. Good You is serving up their signature«KC’s Best Burger» as well as pizzas and appetizers like deviled eggs, wings, and nachos. The nachos in particular are delicious — perfectly stacked with toppings so that you don’t have to scavenge around the plate to scoop things up. Thoughtful and delicious.

Hello, dive bar. This is not your fancy P&L bar, but if you just want to go here to get your beer drinking on, this is your place. As everyone else already said, they have a power hour on Friday’s and Saturdays(7−9pm, AYCD for $ 10). The only reason I took off a star was because if you get a welI, they most definitely water that ish down. It’s a shame I don’t drink beer because you definitely get a better deal with the beer. The bouncers here are as nice as can be as well. Great plus!

The Point does have a decent Happy Hour special Mon-Fri 3 – 7 $ 1 off drinks. The service was better at the bar than the tables. We had to move because the music was so loud we were yelling at each other. The bartender who took over our tab was really attentive and seemed like she knew what was going on. The food was«a-ok». My BLT was a bit too crispy for my taste but the tots were spot on. The tot portion was huge. There were plenty to share. We went here to use our Groupon. I’m glad we did. It’s not necessarily a place I will seek out but it’s a good Plan B if needed.
