Harry’s in Westport is such an amazing place during the summer time. The patio allows you to be outside and see the night life & people of Westport. David, the lead bartender, is always very professional & looks the part. A fun cocktail, the Flirtini is what my girl friend had & she loved it. The ambience is very old school, with that mix of modern that meets everyone’s style. The food specials are legit & the staff is friendly & willing to recommend an amazing beverage. This is one of my favorite places to visit on just about any night.

Fantastic old corner building — Fantastic dark old world warm inviting ambience — huge windows, great views, great people-watching, dark wood, tall tin tiled ceiling, great prices, great service, great cocktails and snacks, great patio, great patrons. — that’s 7 greats and 2 fantastics. To our server on 2÷14÷16, I’m sorry my manfriend took the reserved sign you kindly set on our table after we stepped out on the patio for a minute. It made him very happy that you put it there.

I love it when an outsider can feel like an insider within thirty minutes. Though I popped into Harry’s half on recommendation from a friend and half to warm up(the curved dark wood trimmings and pressed tile ceiling made it feel quite British, and thus like they’d make a good hot toddy — pro tip: it’s nothing fancy, but it does the job quite well especially when served with a smile and a «you’re welcome, miss» by Joel), I stayed for the eavesdropping, people-watching, Royals cheering, «everybody knows your name» ambiance. David makes great conversation and thus makes every person at the bar feel like they’re home(even when you’re just stopping in for the day) and recommended a great dinner spot(Pot Pie). What I loved best of all was watching the servers as the night got started. So often bartender happenings happen out of sight, and I enjoyed the teasing, family atmosphere they all had with one another — makes sense why this place is where the rest of the industry comes to hang out after work.

Really cute spot with a great outdoor bar and patio. Ordered a beer and hung out here with a friend when we were in town for a work meeting. We had a blast! It was a Thursday night but there was a decent crowd! The patio was fantastic and when a little rain began we moved inside which was equally cute! Next time I’m in town, hopefully I can stop in again!

Absolutely love Harry’s. One of my stops every time I’m in KC. In this order: 1) the service is always warm and friendly. It brings me back. I mostly eat alone while traveling for work and the folks here are warm and inviting. 2) the food is great! Although I haven’t strayed from my first order here(House salad with ginger soy vinaigrette bad the Bavarian pretzels) I get the same this every time it’s that good! 3) the atmosphere(music and folks)

This is our«go to spot» on a nice evening. We can sit on the patio to enjoy a cigar and their nice selection of Bourbons. Always great service.

The best thing about Harry’s is the atmosphere. The ambiance is superb. The inside bar has an old school feel and would make for a nice first day spot. The outside patio is a great spot to enjoy a summer day with some nice shade trees. Just hope that the you don’t get three people smoking stogies next to you when you’re on patio like we did(we sat outside I guess we asked for it). The food is solid, but not spectacular. I had the patty melt which was an above average sandwich, and my wife had a brisket sandwich(which after having KC bbq at some fine establishments) doesn’t quite make the grade. We had the spinach artichoke dip which was a nice addition to our meal. The tap list is mostly KC/Boulevard which is a nice start, and a few extra choices in bottles. We didn’t get to try any of the mix drinks or scotch/bourbon but from the list they looked like a solid choice. Overall, a great place to go for a casual dinner during the week or happy hour on the weekends especially if you want to sit outside and get some relief under the shade.

The place and cocktails were great. The fact that they lost my debit card and did little to help was not.

We didn’t eat food here, just had late night drinks with another couple. The Aviation(Plymouth Gin, Luxardo, Lemon Juice & Crème De Violette) cocktail was so good. It was in a martini glass and came in the classic light purple color. I wanted another but decided to try something else getting a pineapple upside down martini(Stoli Vanil Vodka, Amaretto & Pineapple Juice). Much sweeter than the Aviation but a great dessert drink for sure. Some other drinks at the table: Moscow Mule(Shpilka Vodka & Blenheim’s Ginger Beer) and the Almond Joy maritini(Coconut Rum & Godiva White Chocolate). Everyone loved their drinks and we had a stellar lady taking care of us who was attentive without hovering. Highly recommend for late night sips.

Harry’s patio alone garners a 5-star rating — factor in a sweet location, good drinks, and good food and we’ve got a winner. I feel like Harry’s quietly goes along doing it’s own thing so well that I pretty much have taken it for granted for a long time. It’s not exactly a destination spot, more of a starter to an evening or a finisher to an evening. Their food menu is pretty large, and from what I had(Cuban sandwich), pretty tasty. What’s nice though is that they have a cool, classy looking bar in their main room and you can watch Westport go by outside the corner window. The whole place feels historic, and you can make your way into a little back room before going out on the gigantic patio. They have a bar on the back patio, and thank god because it would be insane to have to go in and out here. They’ve kept trees that were growing there, and you could argue a good patio spot on a summer night here is the perfect Westport experience. I love their beer selection — they are always locked and loaded with good Boulevard selections among many, many others. While I like their cocktails, but more than a few of them are too pricey for what they are. All I can say is I’m glad it’s patio season, and you’ll find me there this summer kicking back.

This was my first time at Harry’s. It immediately gave me a speak-easy bar feel. After watching the bartender properly shake a drink, I immediately regretted getting a beer, qudos! There is a great patio outside, perfect spot inside for people watching, and it’s not overly loud and«trendy». I like it. If you want a quiet, nice place to have a drink and conversation, this is an awesome place to go. This will definitely be a place I’ll visit again!

Stumbled upon this gem of a bar. Staff was really friendly, food was delicious, and drinks were cheap. Definitely gives off a hole in the wall vibe from the outside, but inside is clean and the window seats are great for people watching. Menu is small, everything I saw come out of the kitchen looked delicious though. I had sautéed shrimp with cream sauce. It was to die for. Awesome place for late night snack. Check it out.

This place was recommended in a Unilocal Talk thread for Sunday late night eats, so we decided to give it a try. We got a table with a window view of Pennsylvania Ave, and it was great for people watching. We were immediately asked for a credit card in order to run a tab. No problem, but we want to pay cash at the end. We both got the Cuban sandwich. It was ok. We lived in Florida for 2.5 decades and have had our share of authentic Cuban sandwiches. What we got here was not it. They didn’t use cuban bread and it was over-toasted. It was edible, but nothing special. I got red beans and rice for my side, she got chips and a side salad. Our server was very discombobulated. We had to repeat our order three times before he wised up and decided he better write it down. We had to flag him down and remind him that we ordered a salad and to bring it out first. He was absent minded throughout our visit. I even had to go back the next day and pick up my debit card when I realized he didn’t give it back to me after I paid cash for the tab. The food was mediocre and the service was pretty rough. I gave it the 2nd star because of the great window view of Westport from the tables. I won’t be racing to come back here, but we may get a Sunday night wild hair and decide to give them another try.

I came here to continue the party after a friend’s wedding reception — the bride and groom suggested it and headed here themselves. Finding a table on a Saturday night was no easy task. Eventually, we found a couple and by night’s end, we had a bunch of tables together. Beer list is pretty long, including local brews. Servers didn’t come around much, so it was up to the bar if you wanted a drink, which took forever. I get it, it’s your busiest night, but it really did take a long time to get a couple beers. Very, very, loud outside. And if you were outside, there was smoke in your face. It felt like everyone on the patio was smoking. Ick. I haven’t left a bar smelling like smoke since college. Gross. Still, the patio space was nice, and who doesn’t like being outside on a nice evening?

KANSASCITY: Stopped in at Harry’s after getting off a late flight. The bar was highly recommended by staff at a restaurant I had attended earlier so I though I’d check it out. Tile floors, high ceilings, exposed ancient brick and almost floor to ceiling windows overlooking busy Westport make it a terrific place to frequent. The cuisine is mostly cajun inspired, with red beans, gumbo and New Orleans style shrimp alongside the usual suspects of Caesar salad and barbecue chicken flatbread pizza. I tried a couple of items: Cajun Tacos($ 9⁄3 stars) These came highly recommended by both a chef at another restaurant and the server at Harry’s. Blackened chicken, provolone, red beans and ranch: it sounds awesome when you say it. When you taste it, not as good. The cayenne pepper blackening overpowers everything else; can’t taste anything but that pepper. Some people love it, for me it was a missed opportunity. Bavarian Soft Pretzel($ 5⁄4 stars): This was a special, may not be available when you go. The pretzels were like giant soft breadsticks with a beer cheese to dip and some spicy mustard. Pretty good.

It’s about that time of year again… The Patio drinking weather… The more I go to Harry’s the more I love the place. Such a chill vibes to talk shit with your friends. Play some Cards against Humanity… Whatever… I wish people didn’t know about this place… Kind of hard when the patio is on the street.

I’ve been coming to Harry’s for about 10 years & I have always enjoyed the outdoor patio in the comfortable rustic interior of the inside bar. I have never thought this a location for a meal but rather more of a place to order a nice expensive draft beer and chat with a friend who might be from Colorado. However, today I did visit and I ate and the food was solid. The service was pleasant the beer was cold and the company was fair. I don’t mind on the blackened chicken soft tacos which were good and not too large nor too small just right. My company, an old friend from Colorado, ordered one of the pizzas. According to him, «my flatbread pizza was quite tasty»; and, honestly I wish I would’ve ordered a pizza for myself… :) I will be definitely returning in the future but with my company probably not, as he will be in Colorado too stoned to move from his couch.

Harry’s is really growing on me. It used to be that I thought it was an «ok» place to visit while hopping around Westport, but I’ve grown to actually prefer going to Harry’s. It seems like, especially during the week, the crowd is more«grown up». Definitely less of a frat vibe than what you find at Kelly’s. Now, don’t get me wrong, during a weekend in the warmer months, the patio make resemble that of a frat party, but in general, you will find many young, polished professionals here on any given day. The bar itself is beautiful, it’s dark with wooden accents filled with leather bound books and smells of rich mahogany. Ok, not exactly, but you get the picture. Drinks are great and affordable. My go to drink is ginger ale and vodka, and you would be surprised at how many bars don’t have ginger ale. Price for said drink, 5 $. I have only had a couple appetizers here so I really can’t comment much on the food, but as far as a bar experience in Westport, Harry’s is my fave!

Harry’s Bar & Tables lives in my heart forever. Why? Because when I came in to town, Matt E ordered me a horse feather. I was frightened at first, but then my lips touched the sweet burning serenity that is this magical drink. I knew it was my new thang after my first sip. Apart from this glorious cocktail they made me, they also had great service and sweet vibes. The laid back, neighborhood-bar atmosphere is strong with this one. If I lived in KC, I would love low-key evenings by the windows with friends. I would highly recommend this place if you visit KC!
